I'm so heartbroken hearing that Murray has passed away, and I had to come here for a smile. The word legend is a huge understatement and I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I feel like I've lost a very dear friend. We'll never forget you Murray, rest in peace ❤️
Murray's just busy with his new job commentating the "Formula Cloud-9" Championship races. I heard it's all come down to the final race at Rainbow Bridge and Ascari, Senna, Bianchi, Lauda and Rosenmeyer are all still in contention for the title and are currently fiercely racing each other on track for the podium positions. I think I can hear his voice making somersaults from the excitement while he's wrestling Hunt for the microphone, even from down here...
I don't think I can stress enough how instrumental Murray Walker was in hooking a wee lad approaching 5 years of age into F1 and motorsport in general. Murray's excited voice commentating always brings a smile to my face. He may no longer be with us but he immortalised himself with thousands of hours of his commentary and presentation all delivered with enthusiasm, passion and love for the sport.
Absolute legend! 🙌 TH-cam videos of his commentary bring back great memories and lots of laughter 😄 He was truly one of a kind. Thanks for memories and RIP, Murray 🙏

It's not just mistakes that made Murray Walker humorous, it was updates from the department of the bloody obvious too ! With half the race gone there's still half the race to go for example . Let's not forget he was a bloody good commentator too .
I genuinely think that the reason we all think f1 has been so boring for the last 10 years is beacause there has been no Murray Walker. He used to get so excited about the slightest little thing, the passion with which he delivered his commentry was second to none. The mistakes and the occasional not having a clue whats happening made it all the better. Hunt and laterly Brundle were incredibally knowlegeable and always put him right so there was the perfect balance of information and passion

What happened was Mika Salo who was Eddie Irvine's team-mate at the time had come into the pits for a new nose, when the team were expecting Irvine so they had to take his tyres back into the garage and bring out a set for Salo. When Irvine came in a lap later the team only brought three of his tyres out
