If for what reason your cap, lid or other bottle parts break. You can file a warranty claim with camelbak on their website and they send you a new part. Their items have a Lifetime warranty. I just claimed a new cap for my leaky Eddy+ lid/cap.
Was going to purchase a new cap because that stupid plastic piece was breaking, but your tip @1:07 saved me from making that purchase. Cap is now good as new. Thanks!
First video of the mag cap function I have found. TY! I just lost my stainless Better Bottle with a Chute cap. I took the plastic ring off too. They work GREAT for a same diameter bottle for a carry handle. I swapped the ones on my polar bottles. I have a new chute stainless mag ordered. 32 ounce. I'm going to try to find an old style chute cap too. Those are indestructable! I lost mine a couple months ago in a parking lot. I went back the next day and it had been run over. I bent it back in shape, gave it a good clean and popped it back on.
Hey there! I'm interested in purchasing this bottle, but I have a couple of questions. Is the hinge strong enough, because it looks pretty fragile to me, and I wouldn't want it to break easily. Can it take serious punishment during outdoors? Of course I'm not gonna bash it or anything, but I need a bottle that is durable enough that will last for a few years at least. Oh, and one more question if I may. I was wondering if the 600ml version would be sufficient enough for daily hiking, or in general for outdoor activities.
Dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all the new series on instaflixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend for the last weeks xD
been using 2 bottles of the first Chute 700ml version for (3+? i guess ) years. at the beginning had no trust into the cap holding thing. well, after going through everything with this bottles, well over 1000 openings i can say with confidence they are sturdy af. has been dropped, scratched and squeezed a million times, no problems at all. the huge handle turned out to be very effective in everyday use. the ONE thing to be said: after every refill - and i mean it, there are like 5 drops of water running down the bottle. almost enough to cry a river, but not that great in some office situations 🤣 definetly will get this new version soon.
It looks like it’ll fit in a mountain bike cage too. It’s a great design. My main gripe with MTB water bottles is that they usually don’t have cap covers. Wiping dust is okay in the summer, but winter time there’s a ton of mud usually covering said cap.
Me acabo de comprar hoy una de estas de acero, con imán en la tapa,en si quería una Stanley, pero me pareció muy cara, espero no decepcionarme con esta marca, saludos desde Montevideo Uruguay!
This is so cool that you are so passionate about water bottles! I found very difficult to find the right bottle for mine hikes, but a screw lid with a cap holder is the only choice to protect spilling and degradation after some time of usage. All those straws and sophisticated mechanisms can't last long. They will start to stink or will be broken after the first fall.
I just wanted to say thank you for posting this, I was given the camel back with the hard strap that doesn't come off and sides to the side and I was staring at it wondering how the magnet lid worked. When I saw your review of putting it down the side , I was like duhhhh ..... Lol. Thanks again for posting the review.
Just in case this info helps anyone. I am pretty picky with things I buy. Was scared to buy the chute mag because of complaints about leaking. Anyways, I bought one. I've had it for more than a year now. It's still going strong. It has never leaked on me. The cap itself has popped out of the plastic hinge thing but this can only happen when the bottle is open. I just popped it back in and it hasn't happened since. I use it everyday for work and school. Dropped it a million times left it outside and in my car multiple times. Never cracked or broke. The stainless steel insulated one may be better health wise but then you have to deal with dents from dropping. This thing is virtually indestructible with normal use.
Hey man - awesome review and thanks for posting it. Just a question about the lid. I know you said it’s interchangeable with the old version - but can you also change a lid with a straw attached onto this bottle?
Thank you for the review. Just bought the 1,5L bottle, partly because of your video. I paid the equivalent of 20 US Dollars, a tad expensive perhaps for a water bottle in my world. But hopefully it is sturdy and will last long, just as you say.
About 2 years ago my wife and I decided to stop buying cases of water, and purchased a Sparkletts water machine for our house with 5 gallon jugs... It's been awesome... My wife has a YETI cup, my daughter has a Hydro Flask, and I have a Camelbak Chute... it's a stainless steel, double isolated bottle. Not for backpacking. Thanks for sharing.
Hiker J... well we use approximately 3-4 each month. When we started, we ordered more than we needed... We now order 4 each month, delivered to the house, for $30. We have stocked up for a while with 15 gallons for emergency water (California earthquakes) just in case.
can you take the blue hinge thingy off the mag. also heard that new lid does not fit well on the old chute bottle from amazon reviews. said thread is different, leaks and doesnt screw all the way down. i have an old shute bottle and was gonna buy CamelBak Chute 2.0 Universal Replacement Cap. im hesitant now that people are saying its not really universal. maybe you can tell me with the old ones you have. like putting the new mag cap on an old chute bottle. thanks and love the reviews.
Fwiw, I always found it quite ergonomic to pull the cap thing back with my index finger on the old one. Then slide it on but dont screw it for quick access.
Question......you showed how you removed the "ring" on the old bottle and it worked great. Can you/did you remove the "ring" on the new cap? If so, will it still stay attached to the bottle via the magnet? Is the the magnet strong enough for that? I saw your concern regarding the hinge breaking but if I can just remove that part then I won't worry about it.
I have one of these and the magnet is is the lids not the "ring" however there is no reason to take the ring off since it does not get in the way. Also after a year of regular use it is showing no signs of wear, it has an even pressure so unless you try to break it I don't think it will
I'm looking for a replacement for my camelback (whichever bottle has the bite valve on which always leaks). I wonder how long until that plastic hinge last like you said, folding it so many times I think it would break after a year...
Weird comparison, but the bmw e46 accelerator pedal has a hinge thats the same as this cap, its just kne bit of plastic that folds, and it broke, after 21 years on the road. I imagine the bottle will be fine. :)
I got the 20oz one. It's very apparent there is a stronger magnetic side to the cap and a weaker magnetic side. So when opening you have to make sure you flip it the right way or risk a weak attraction and having the cap fly back in your face. Overall a little disappointed by the magnet in the 20oz version.
I've had the older style chute for a long time, but it is falling apart as I take it with me everywhere, the plastic bit holding the lid actually broke pretty soon after buying it and looking at that mag top, I'd think that won't last too long either, wonder how strong the magnet is for when the inevitable happens... have the mag chute on order now.
I have the old school for a year now. THe best water bottle I purchased in my life (the more expensive, as well :V). If it lasts me for one more year, I'll buy the MAG one, just in consideration for Camelbak and their NICE and indestructible product. (dropped the 32oz filled up from 2 feet, and it seems that nothing happened, accident, of course :V)
Just be mindful with boiling water. Don't leave it boiling water in it for LONG, plastic chute wasn't made for that, differently from the stainless steel.
haha I can't believe I didn't know about the original Chute's feature of holding the cap in the clip area! thanks for that Jason! my main complaint with that bottle was that I was always fighting the cap being in my face and having to hold it back with my forefinger. it seems to be working well if I snap it in to place! so I'll keep this bottle since the new cap system will work on it. it's only 500ml/16oz so I will be upgrading to a larger one soon... but i'm glad to know this cap system isn't completely worthless 🤣
I have not had that problem. My boys use these same bottles for sports and they are left in all types of strange positions and we have not had any leaking.
I drink shakes or energy drinks in my bottles. The spring is just for mixing the powder when I shake it. Just helps break up the powder and mixes things up well.
I have a Camelbak Chute water bottle in the 750ml which equals 25.4oz. I leave my plastic thing on the cap. I didn’t know people actually took that off. I got mine free from attending a church in my town once as a new member. I noticed that you have a blender bottle spring inside one of your Camelbak water bottles. Could you explain why you have one In there and what you use it for?
Thank you so much for this video! I know it's been over two & half years since you posted not, not sure if you still check the comments section, but I would deeply appreciate it if you could answer the following question: Is the diameter of the new Chute Mag's mouth opening the same size as that of the old one? I am referring specifically to the diameter of the small hole from which you drink, not the overall cap diameter. The reason I'm asking is because I have the old cap, and love how it fits in my mouth since it has the same size as that of regular plastic water bottles. I would like to know whether the new Chute Mag has the same size. Thank you.
Yes, the diameter of the spout you drink from is the same between the old lock in place version and the new magnetic cap version. It’s been 9 months since you’ve posted the question so I’m guessing you already know, but I figured I’d leave a reply in case anyone in the future sees this and was wondering the same thing.
Outstanding review! Your discussion moved me to purchase. I'll be interested to see how long it lasts. I'd been using a Humangear top because of the wide opening and height (no nose smash) I avoided the first version you showed for the reason many did but I have to give this one a try!
Personally I have not had that happen. I have used this style bottle for 2 years now and have had it next to my phone and computer all the time and have had no problem.

Hola las de plástico?si se caen se rajan no?es un plastico duro!
Buying this for my kid starting Kinder. Key words, cap doesn't get lost, straw less, and durable. Thanks!
Was going to purchase a new cap because that stupid plastic piece was breaking, but your tip @1:07 saved me from making that purchase. Cap is now good as new. Thanks!

@Wilson Braxton Yea, I've been watching on Instaflixxer for since december myself :)
Hey just me here two years later… still the best water bottle I’ve ever gotten…🤘🤘🤘
it's worth the money? Are they light, comfortable, durable?>
Just ordered a 750mL after watching your video - great review and keep it up!!! Finally something 'refreshing' on TH-cam!

That is long term use. I have a variety of brands but for some reason I always look for the chute top Camelback bottle first.
Did the hinges held or broke?
It looks like it’ll fit in a mountain bike cage too. It’s a great design. My main gripe with MTB water bottles is that they usually don’t have cap covers. Wiping dust is okay in the summer, but winter time there’s a ton of mud usually covering said cap.

I agree, I like straw type bottles but cleaning is a pain so I always just go for a screw type lid.

what kind of stickers you put on your bottles...does it last long and does it leaves marks on the bottles after removed???

That damn bottle is immune my friend it does not break
Have you tried putting the bottle in the freezer and did it crack?
it's worth the money? Are they light, comfortable, durable?>
Did you upgrade to the 2020 chute with the insulated inside looking for video and content on that water bottle
Anybody know where to get the silicone gasket replacements? Thanks in advance.
Very helpful review! How's the cap hinge holding up? I've gone through so many nalgene bottles with the plastic cap holder breaking.
I have the vacuum seal version and after a year of regular use it is showing no signs of wearing
Is this bottle used only for cold water? Don't see anywhere where stating for only cold or for both.
Thanks
Hello, just ordered mine coming today from amazon so it’s been four years since you uploaded this video is that hinge still holding on?
Any update regarding the plastic connecting the lid to the bottle? Did it break with heavy usage?
About 2 years ago my wife and I decided to stop buying cases of water, and purchased a Sparkletts water machine for our house with 5 gallon jugs... It's been awesome... My wife has a YETI cup, my daughter has a Hydro Flask, and I have a Camelbak Chute... it's a stainless steel, double isolated bottle. Not for backpacking. Thanks for sharing.
How long does one of those 5 gallon sparkletts last for your family? I'm interested in the concept.

Thanks for the review. Regarding the plastic hinge, I strongly suspect that it wil not last very long.
Just got this bottle today and a lovely treat to stumble across this video, I love water bottles too 😅
what color?
My name is Steven Rogers I fall in love with your plastic water bottle
That is so very awesome cool
I am big fan of the water bottle
Hey man ! How is the hinge now? did it last very long ?
can you take the blue hinge thingy off the mag. also heard that new lid does not fit well on the old chute bottle from amazon reviews. said thread is different, leaks and doesnt screw all the way down. i have an old shute bottle and was gonna buy CamelBak Chute 2.0 Universal Replacement Cap. im hesitant now that people are saying its not really universal. maybe you can tell me with the old ones you have. like putting the new mag cap on an old chute bottle. thanks and love the reviews.
Does it fit if I change my 0.75L Chute cap to magnetic cap?
will the 30 oz fit in a car cup holder
Fwiw, I always found it quite ergonomic to pull the cap thing back with my index finger on the old one. Then slide it on but dont screw it for quick access.
But does it fit on a Nalgene?

Should i get 750 or 1000 ml for sports like tennis and daily use?
I'm looking for a replacement for my camelback (whichever bottle has the bite valve on which always leaks). I wonder how long until that plastic hinge last like you said, folding it so many times I think it would break after a year...
I wondered the same thing. It's only been a few months however I use mine all day long and the hindge is going strong.
My bite valve won’t lock down anymore.
I was always a Nalgene guy myself. Settled on the oasis canteen. I’m gunna have to take a look at these bottles though.
Banshee you won the Amazon gift card. Private Message me your email so I can send it to you
OMG, thank you so much! WIll do!
Did the hinge ever come off?
Nope still holding strong
@@HikerJ My mom just let me buy one on amazon!!!!!!!

just got the 20oz version of this insulated bottle and ii am more than happy with it. lovve the mag lid and the way it snaps back.
I am planning on getting an isolated too. Mainly for work to keep water at my desk nice and cold.

Nalligen?
I just bought a 1.5L Nalgene wide mouth weeks ago and I now regret it. I wish I saw this video earlier. I still might buy this tho! Thanks!
is the hinge that holds the cap on still holding up?
2 years and still going strong

I got this bottle for my daughter.
It is much easier!!!💚
Are the lids interchangeable between the non insulated and insulated CamelBak Mag Chute bottles?
Justin Hoffman did you watch the video? He talks about this. 😆
Are they hard to wash? Do you wash the before and after every use?
I clean it in the dishwasher and have washed a couple times a week and it's still in great condition.
@@HikerJ Ah. Unfortunately, I don't have a dishwasher which means I have to hand wash it.
Just picked this up i am kind of bummed that there is two silicone gaskets to clean .
Does the magnet cap really work on the other Camelback chute
Yep, I have swapped it with old bottles several time.
Thanks for deualed explanation
Ordered one and it works great. Thank you
Super review...where can I get those stickers 🤩
Does it leak if left in strange position?
I have not had that problem. My boys use these same bottles for sports and they are left in all types of strange positions and we have not had any leaking.
Hello, I'm a waterbottle noob. Can you explain me why the metal spring is in all your waterbottles?
I drink shakes or energy drinks in my bottles. The spring is just for mixing the powder when I shake it. Just helps break up the powder and mixes things up well.
@@HikerJ thanks

I just Got mine. And omg already love it. Great video btw 👍
What size is the Mag version bottle you are reviewing in the video?
Good video man. Too the point and no blah blah...
the mag cap accesory is compatible with the camelbak eddy 32oz ?
Yes
Does old top fit new bottle?
Did you try the Eddy Series, for me is the best bottle when i drive.

nice review, thanks !
Just picked up the Mag in 1.5 liters. 7 bucks at rei.
Very valuable! Thanks.
Perfect review 👍🏻
Does it sweat or moist when you put lots of ice?
Very nice & informative video,thank"s sir👍
Ya it will sweat with ice in humid environments
The video was decisive for me to choose me MAG version. Thanks bro!
I found the plastic harness piece isn't that bad you just have to get one side in first and then the other and it works well.
Great review
Thank you very much for reviewing the Camelbak Chute Mag. I got a good idea of it and I'm going to buy it. Nice video.
Great Review......subscribed!
I am afraid the magnet will interfere with my electronics. What do you think?
Personally I have not had that happen. I have used this style bottle for 2 years now and have had it next to my phone and computer all the time and have had no problem.
only a really big neodinium magnet could harm eletronic devices or credit cards etc.
Most likely the magnet is too weak to interfere with any electronic. Most modern day electronics have magnets inside of them, hence most magnets won’t damage electronics.
That's not how magnets work.
Great video
Great review! Very helpful!
Is it good (healthy) to drink magnetised water???
Magnetized water? Seriously?
Nice video
Thanks!
Why are the lids and bottles made of plastic when research is showing how much plastic humans ingest from plastic water bottles? Especially the lids, as these screw tops shed heaps of microscopic plastic bits from the surfaces rubbing together. Steel tops would be a lot better.
I have a problem! the plug does not close well, it easily opens. when the bottle in the backpack is always spilled !!! This is a problem with ALL CLEMBAK BOTTLES
Anton Pernat mine doesn’t leak. It fantastic.
If all your Camelbak bottles leak, then that's on you.
thanks for this video
Nalogen??
How much coffee do you drink in your bottle? I see you have tremors 🤪
My wife just bought one after seeing how good mine was but it wasn't magnetised. ☹️
Strange
YT rule #1, if you tell your viewers to subscribe you get a dislike.
The magnet is piss weak 🧲
Maybe talking a little bit more slowly or relaxed would be great ...
