    I agree with early recommendations for target CPA. That is really weird on Google's part. Thanks for sharing your experience.

    Great video to watch, I made some tweaks to my Google Ads, but being a bit of a noob, I am still not sure what other adjustments I need to make. But I need to make them quickly because I have an online sales business (ladies shoes) and sales have nose dived by 50% in the last 2 months. I need a way to jack them up. I have made adjustments with the images I have on Google, and altered the text based on what you said. But I have to get those sales back up to where they were and beyond...

    I’ve been watching your videos trying to learn Google ads. I’m looking to my own agency. Could you please make a video, about how to manage and market for multiple clients on an account? Thanks!

    great video Aaron Many thanks. I'm a beginner with TH-cam ads (daily budget about $30+) using them to get people to register for my webinar about mindset for entrepreneurs, and from there they book a sales call with me. As an expert would you advise me to begin with just keywords? because I'm tempted to use placement targeting on my competitors videos but from my research the advice is choose 5-7 tightly matched keywords pinpointing specific things within my personal development niche and branch out in that way. I have also been told to group all my keywords together and think of as many as possible and lump them together and see which ones do well. what is your expert opinion because I'm pretty confused? thanks!

    Hey Aaron... great information/video...thank you....questions....one of my campaigns I've narrowed down to only 4 kws...yes only 4....is this crazy in your opinion? I've been concerned about my cost per conversion...and with only these 4 core keywords I've been able to keep it optimized...thoughts? Ideas?

    Regarding Ad Groups based around Keyword Match Types - in your opinion, what's the best approach to "migrate" away from this setup?
    Create an entirely new Ad Group and copy the keywords/ads over from each group/match type pairing or consolidate down into one of the existing single existing match types (broad for example) perhaps?
    Existing customer of your video courses BTW 🙂 Thanks!

      Consolidate into STAG with all match types. Over time, shift your winning voluminous keywords in a separate campaign

      Hi John, see which ad group is your current best performing ad group and then move any KWs from the other ad groups (same KWs but different match types) into this ad group.
      Have a look at each ad group as well because:
      - if phrase match is the best performing ad group you can probably just pause the other 2 and just use this one
      - if broad match is the best performing ad group - pause the other 2 & then complete your search term audits to start filtering the traffic further.
      Let me know if you have any further questions

    • @JohnSansomPhoto
      @JohnSansomPhoto 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the suggestions!
      Just to clarify, the current scenario is:
      Ad Campaign 1 [exact match] - Ad Group [exact match]
      Ad Campaign 2 [Broad/Phrase] - Ad Group [Broad/Phrase]
      So it's split at the campaign level, rather than different Ad Groups within a single campaign, in case that should change the approach.

    Not sure if I'm following on the ad group match type consolidation . Is the recommendation to have all the keywords as all three match types in one ad group( so same keywords three times one for each match type)? so one ad group with exact , phrase, and Broad versions of all the terms?
    Great vid as usually. love the content

  • @joemay7106
    @joemay7106 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes the key is search term review to make negative single keywords where possible and exact or phrase matches w/ responsive ads and ClickCease Callrail get 20 conversions max clicks then we more max conversions than max conv target cpa when things are really off and running well after a 60 days or so 🎉

    Hi Aaron, is it ok to start an account with Manual CPC (to gather data) instead of Maximize Clicks? My understanding is that maximize clicks gets you as much traffic at high CPCs.

  • @alexdetodt4971
    @alexdetodt4971 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Most google PROs I know recommend to start with manual CPC only 100% of the time for the first weeks.

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alex that was definitely the given practice for years. But due to the recent changes with Google using more indexed data at the account level, changes to KW targeting, more AI/smart learning embedded into the platform I see far better results with this approach.
      I changed from starting with Max CPC about 2 years ago.
      Hope that helps with some better context for my recommendation

    Hi Aaron, i have a new campaign for a new store. Been doing maximize clicks for 3 weeks now at US$25 daily budget and US$0.25 max cpc. Have 11 sales so far. When should i switch to maximize conversion, ir is it too early?

    Hey Aaron, thanks for your videos really helpful. Can you please clarify if you use maximize clicks on a new campaign in an account with a lot of conversion data already? I was under the impression you only use maximize clicks if the account is neem

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Zoe, if you have an account with lots of conversion data already you can go straight to maximise conversions

  • @IEVolleyBallNerd
    @IEVolleyBallNerd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I take your point on grouping by theme but you make it sound like google provides all data in the search term report which it doesn’t. So there is still a large % of search terms that you will never see and never be able to add as a negative

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cillian yes agree with you that you don’t see all of the terms. I have released other videos on this point as when you add more negatives over the weeks of completing this process you start to see some different terms appear in the search terms report

    Quite controversial to set campaign as maximum clicks from the beginning. Can you explain it a little bit more? I used to start with Enhanced cost per click can you tell us why is this worse than max. clicks?

    • @softprod.1661
      @softprod.1661 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With max clicks you can test your products faster and adjust you bid with more data to back it

    • @livelife6008
      @livelife6008 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@softprod.1661 yes but if we talk about search campaigns I think it could generate low quality search querries for lower bids. I prefer 10 clicks for 1$ each and 10% conv. rate than 100 clicks for 0,2$ each and 1% conv. rate

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I start this way because Google will use indexed data from other (competitor) accounts to decide on search terms and users that are more likely to convert.
      So with that in mind I always like to ensure that I am not missing any new search or different search trends that Google has not included in this indexed data.
      BUT to make it clear when I start with maximise clicks I am:
      - running search term audits 3 times in the first 7 days
      - moving it to maximise conversions as soon as I see some conversions start to fire
      Hope that makes sense

  • @DMutsky

    Aaron, why would start a campaign with manual CPC rather then Maximize Clicks ?

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Denis, if there was a really high CPC I would start with manual CPC. For example I have a campaign running for a lawyer at the moment and CPC is $100+ so for this campaign I have set a CPC limit

    I disagree with your interpretation of the Auction Insights report. This report only gives data for the same keywords you are advertising on. Therefore Amazon is a relevant competitor because the report only shows Amazon’s performance on those keywords

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Hi Paul, it is correct in what you are saying BUT you missed what I was talking about in this section of the video.
      Yes the auction insights reports gives you the breakdown of competitor URLs (and you also view the overlap rate - so you can see the % of times you both appear in the same auctions).
      What my point was is about the “indexed data” that Google uses for its Bidding strategies- if you have an account with no or very few conversions - Google uses the conversion KPIs from a collection of the URLs that are competing for the same keywords.
      So even though I was using the Auction Insights this WAS NOT about explaining how this report works I used it to show you an easy way to see some of the URLs that Google is using for this indexed data.
      My core point was that if you start with a CPA / ROAS goal right from the start of the campaign this could being limiting your account performance.
      For context: I got this data confirmed while I was assigned a google team member to help scale an account from $80k spend per month to $200k.
      I hope that gives some further insight into what I was saying and sorry if that didn’t come across clear enough.
      Thanks for watching
      Aaron 👍🏻

    Maximize clicks?? That would be poor Roas and high Cpa from the very start. If I want to waste money on a failed campaign I would try this.

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds

      Remember I am saying that this strategy works with completing a search term audit every 72 hours so you can add extra negative KWs and also select KWs for phrase & exact match.
