He( sali alai) would often tell the companions to trust only in Allah. Because Allah is The Giver. The First and Last. Allah has Given His Friends the permission to help those who ask. It is an insult to say you can't ask him( sale alai) for help. Allah aza wa Jal said," Had I not created him ( sale alai) i wouldn't have created anything. Through his sunnah we receive mercy. By sending salaam on him we receive forgiveness. Can't ask him for help?! Really?
there is no problem with asking the Prophets for help.. if you could ask them for help on the day of judgement then you could ask them for help now cos the prophets are not ALLAH now and neither will they be HIM then so as we already knw that we will all definitely ask fr his help on judgement day so this should be enough for anyone with enough intelligence to use logic and deduce the fact that there is nothing wrong with asking the Prophets alayhimus salam for help!!

Maka naiklah ke atasnya kau akan selamat
✿ فَاعْتَصِمْ بِاللهِ وَاسْتَعِنِ
Berpegang teguhlah dengan Allah dan mintalah pertolongan
✿ رَبِّ فَانْفَعْنَا بِبَرْكَتِهِمْ
Ya Allah, kurniakanlah kami dengan berkat mereka
✿ وَاهْدِنَا الْحُسْنَى بِحُرْمَتِهِمْ
Berilah petunjuk pada kami jalan yang baik dengan kehormatan mereka
✿ وَأَمِتْـنَا فِي طَرِيْقَتِهِمْ
Matikanlah kami pada jalan mereka
✿ وَمُعَـافَاةٍ مِنَ الْفِتَنِ
Serta selamatkanlah kami dari fitnah
✿ ثُمَّ لاَ تَغْتَرَّ بِالنَّسَبِ
Janganlah engkau membanggakan diri dengan nasabmu
✿ لاَ وَلاَ تَقْنَعْ بِكَانَ أَبِي
Dan jangan pula engkau merasa cukup dengan kejayaan ayahmu
✿ وَاتَّبِعْ فِي الْهَدْيِ خَيْرَ نَبِيّ
Ikutilah sebaik-baik nabi dalam petunjuknya
✿ أحْمَدِ الْهَادِي إلَى السَّنَنِ

Good health and sickness are not alike.
So divest yourself of the two universes, except for
Love for the Master of the Arabs and non-Arabs.
He is the Master of Masters, from the people of Muḍar,
The great helper of the people of desert and cities,
He was given signs (āyāt) and Suras,
He is the source of wisdom and Sacred Law.
Like a moon, good and wholesome is his heart,
his character and his way of life.
He is the most pure and and select of all people,
A righteous witness for people of right and wrong.
No eye has seen, or ever will see,
A human being the like of Ṭā Hā.
He is the best who ever left traces on earth,
Pure in character and noble personal traits.

He( sali alai) would often tell the companions to trust only in Allah. Because Allah is The Giver. The First and Last. Allah has Given His Friends the permission to help those who ask. It is an insult to say you can't ask him( sale alai) for help. Allah aza wa Jal said," Had I not created him ( sale alai) i wouldn't have created anything. Through his sunnah we receive mercy. By sending salaam on him we receive forgiveness. Can't ask him for help?! Really?

there is no problem with asking the Prophets for help..
if you could ask them for help on the day of judgement then you could ask them for help now cos the prophets are not ALLAH now and neither will they be HIM then so as we already knw that we will all definitely ask fr his help on judgement day so this should be enough for anyone with enough intelligence to use logic and deduce the fact that there is nothing wrong with asking the Prophets alayhimus salam for help!!
