Mine did the same thing within 2 months. Sent it for warranty, but I think it’s getting weak again. Not a fan of my DR58. Got it because I love Fieldpiece products but not a fan coming from a d tek select.
Thanks for the video Adrian. I run the DR82 as my main detector and really like it. I also have the dtek select infared as my backup. Gonna order the replacement tip just to have in case.
I have the Stratus....but this is great information. In a day and age where manufacturers make it difficult to repair and constantly push for sales....getting something repaired and back in good working order is what we do...why not with our tools too
I will be more careful with it. Mine gets near daily use. The wand is getting loose at the base. It lives on the electronic side if my TECH-LC, along with joblink probes, sauermann manometer and Milwaukee Rover flood light that, took the place in the bag when my FP SC680 clamp broke. Expensive cheep junk. Fluke 87 V MAX replaced the FP SC680, but it doesn't really fit in the bag. The 87 is a beast of a DMM but so much more useful than the SC680 ver was.

I like the elitech that I have . Plus it comes with an extra wand and you can use it as an extension wand plus comes with 5 extra tips with filters
Inficon stratus is a beast, worth the money.

Thanks 😎✌️✌️
What is the difference between the 58 and 82 part replacement
Mine did the same thing. I had to buy another one while I sent mine in. Not overly impressed since it only lasted a few months
Just happened to me. Just the video I needed. Fieldpiece wanted 180$ plus shipping to repair. $47 for part off Amazon. 👍
Glad it helped. I didn't know what the repair price looked like so thanks for the info!
for sure 😗👍
