Not a bad build at all. i went more pure lightning focus with the damage buffs for fire purely for the burning status. get to feel more like a god of lightning/palpatine character that way. is it min maxed? nope. is it fun as hell? sure is. dont mind the fights taking a bit longer & play on normal difficulty anyways as im a filthy casual :D
I built this a bit different - mage's gambit for versatility (get burned Antaam with your lightning resistance), timeworn mageknife (not legendary upgrade, that's a trap) for arcane bomb damage and healing. If you take shocking weapons on detonation, enchant Storm surge to give you shocking weapons and take Garb of kinship (medium armor for medium armor mastery), you get more advantage duration, damage and healing on demand. As you primary deal with lightning and shock you can take both rings for more lightning and shock damage (enchanted for strike damage and more mana). And for complete Palpatine feel take Tempest - it will prime enemies in aoe with arcane bombs for massive damage with blade heavy attack. You can do sundered with companion, charge with void blade to detonate (and get many buffs), use tempest and start detonating bombs with blade attacks. Any damage you take you heal with detonating bombs. The few disadvantages of this build is when fighting different enemies with resistances to both fire and lightning and thus forcing you to complete full attack combo to switch weapon element, but you can take any mage companion with time stop for that.

Spellblade is the first build I did in DAV, very fun and engaging combat especially triggering Arcane Bomb.
It took me way to long to figure out how to trigger the Arcane Bomb 😂

Really solid build!
Not many abilities to begin with tho are you going to do enough damage early on
It was fine for me early game, this is the build I actually ran to get to level 50 to do all the other mage builds I have coming
All builds are pretty much the exact same within classes. You only get a handful of abilities.
As cool as the skill tree is, it’s super limited
