    Indonesia marine had tested the BTR 4 and found that it's amphibious capability is poor, and if am not wrong they also found that the hull is kind of rusty

      You're correct--their manufacturing process was not good to protect the hull from corrosion--same problem was noticed when Iraq rejected an imported batch. They need to change their hull coating processes, perhaps do something like the whole-chassis dip process used by VW. Although that requires a lot of investment--probably money they did not have.

They had Neptune, BTR-4, T-84,etc that have potential to export as an alternative of US and Russia weaponry.       @@Warfare1202 Ukraine was the jewel of the Soviet defense industry-the most defense output per capita of all Soviet Republics BY FAR-particularly in terms of metallurgical engineering and aeronautical guidance and control.

      Russia has never replaced the lost ex-soviet industrial complexes when Ukraine turned away. Regaining control over Ukraine would enable Russia to rebuild deep sea navy and modernize vehicles and aircrafts at far greater rate than before. So many important weapons and machines in the Russian army have been made in Ukraine...
      It's one of the less often spoken causes for this war, though at this rate it's questionable whether there will be something left to salvage...

    But how well does it handle mud conditions? You can't talk about mobility in Ukraine without talking about the mud right now, it's a bigger issue than amphibious capabilities, I think. Certainly, this aspect is more talked about.

      Russian BTR's and BMP's are rly cheap and reliable piece of military vehicles the russian army has to offer. But if you can't maintain it properly with care those things are doomed to be stucked in ukrainian mud or gets abandoned due to Supply issues.🤔

    Btr 4 has proven its worth and capabilities the recent video the Azov battalion released their btr 4 able to knockout 2 or possibly 3 russian t72 tanks, 1 bmp and 1 btr variants. Thats impressive. And clearly your knowledge about the btr4 is outdated, the btr4 with 30mm gun doesn't have any turret basket and clearly the sight of btr4 with the video released is much better than russian counterparts with much higher refresh rate.

    I'm keen to see how Ukraine's military will change to Western vehicles in 10-20 years, same for India. The Ukrainian war will likely take a few years, like the Afghan war 1979-1989, before Russia loses and a new president takes over in the Kreml. But during that time not only the Russian military will likely change, but every country that had Russian military equipment, which is not close to the Kreml, right?

The landing force goes where necessary from behind, covering the doors. The engine is one of the best in the world.Finnish Kevlar armor, insulation and again anti-fragmentation armor.

    That 30mm cannon is insane. There's some footage from the Azov battalion showing them engage APCs, IFVs and even a tank (it was previously damaged by an RPG). I had no idea the 30mm gun was so damn effective in combat.

      @@danielkol477 The video clearly shows the surroundings being a battlefield. So not abandoned, but most likely damaged by strikes from other weapon systems. And i can clearly remember the 30 mm piercing the armor between the tracks. Igniting the tank.

      @@АндрейБ-е1ьAzov in Mariupol are probably dead, injured or captured. Mariupol was has surrounded and under attack for weeks with little chance resupply or reinforcements. Maybe some are holding out or have escaped.
      I can't stand their politics and I hate the symbols they wear. But I admire the way they fight. They represent a small portion of Ukraine and Russia has many young men of its own with similar hateful politics and ideologies.

    Parus turret is fully external, it does not protrude inside the vehicle. The one shown in the video is with the module Spys, which is not really common.

    The additional engine performance has been exploited to great effect by Ukrainian forces. The footage of the BTR-4 ripping apart a T72 should tell you that this is a much better platform than people give it credit for. The additional power has allowed operators to leave firing arcs of the older russian turrets. Keeping oblique angles on target while firing to great effect. They are gonna sell these and the Stugna P as a combo meal.

    Ive been very impressed with how ukraine has used these, initially i thought they seemed awfully large and potentially heavy but the seem to have plenty of get up and go, and great movement in urban environments. They also seem to really use there weapon systems to more effect, the btr-82s ive seen often are moving slow with dismounts next to them, or just seem to be static, where the ukrainians seem to get where they need to go and use there btr to respond to more armored threats threating troops. I would love to see the mv1 continue after the war, it certainly seems more forward facing and better equipped for what they need.

    There is some very good footage of BTR-4s of the Azov regiment destroying Russian infantry and armored vehicles in Mariupol. Great vehicle in my opinion and miles ahead in terms of sensor technology when compared to the old soviet stuff.

    It looks good. On a lot of occasions - at least two in Mariupol alone. The BTR 4 has smashed multiple enemy ifvs and apcs, including engaging two tanks. Damaging one and destroying the other.

      In the first video the BTR engages 1 tank at a distance(damaging it, probably survived) and then destroys two APCs, plus a team of russian soldiers behind one of them. The second video it destroys an IFV and engages a tank - managing to pierce it's lower armor, between the tracks and destroy it.

      they already have 4 barrier missiles that can penetrate 800mm behind ERA or around 1000-1100 without ERA also that 30mm canon fire 30x165mm rounds that can penetrate 46mm of RA at 60 degree angle or about 90mm at 0 degree angle for comparison side armor of modern tanks is around 30-80mm of RA

    Unfortunately due to poor amphibious performance the Indonesians cancelled their order for 55 units after only half a dozen units.
    Really promising vehicle regardless! I hope they can continue to be produced.
    As for the Indonesians, they used modernized PT-76s (with a stabilized 90mm gun) and a smaller 6x6 APC (Anoa APC)

    The BTR-4 is by far the best protected. The engine placement adds more protection to the squad behind it

      ​@DiversityIsOurStrength Well that's extreme for any BTR, but comparatively to other BTR's the BTR-4 would be slightly better at stopping spalling from smaller arms and fragments from explosives if entering from the front of the vehicle. Israel's Merkava MBT uses the same principle of placing the engine forwards to utilize every part of the tank for added protection without sacrificing space or speed

    Just got a courtesy of arguing over that on Spookston's video about Stryker MGS.
    MEXAS on LAV III protects from 14.5*114 only at ranges above 500 meters(and I still don't know which round they used to test it). Stryker is based on LAV III, has similar weight and also uses MEXAS.
    There is newer generation applique armor from same manufacturer, but Stryker isn't getting it. LAV 6 does:P

    When BTR-4 was in early stage of Army acceptance, it was plagued by low quality of armor. But, as it turns now, best armor is no armor. Until you can impressively punch enemy with advantageous optics and fire control, it does not matter.

    I've been extremely impressed by the BTR-4's performance against Russian forces in Ukraine.
    Putin's wars have made Ukraine and its defense industries step their games up, and the BTR-4 is no exception.

    Can you do a video on the new weapons platforms the Ukrainians have fielded against the Russians. Im not sure what they are called. But they all say New Holland, International Harvester, Ford or John Deere. Completely wiping out Russian armor.

      Actually BTR-4's are a nightmare for the Ukrainian armed forces. They don't have the available maintenance since all their factories were bombed, and their fuel is also limited since majority of their fuel depots were destroyed.
      Not to mention, Russians captured these vechiles and mechanics have said these vehicles are entirely stupid as each one has a slightly different design, making it nearly impossible to maintain since they aren't standardized.
