  • We visited The Alamo and the River Walk, which altogether makes San Antonio's downtown area among the most beautiful we've seen.
    We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown San Antonio

    Riverwalk at night is a must. Bring money. The river boat tour is worth it. I'd say do that before dark.

    This city is on my bucket list. Super video to, I really enjoy your hotel ratings it does help a person get a wee look into if it’s a hotel worth staying at.

      @@JoeandNicsRoadTrip trust me your making life enjoyable for me, with your travels. I’m missing traveling so much, we can’t even drive into the USA yet. I’m missing your country so much.
      We’re hoping Biden will reopen the land crossings this month, not holding my breath lol.
      Safe travels.

    Wow, memories flooding back. I visited the USA in 1981 with my parents. San Antonio was by far my favourite place. It's just how I remember it!
    I can't stop watching this channel. Your content is the best.

    We were inspired by your video of San Antonio. It was everything you said. Beautiful city, friendly people, lots to do. As we have become fans of your travels across the US I would like to suggest sharing in your commentary how people make their living in these areas.

    Wow I had no idea there was a downtown like this in Texas.....a real eye opener. Good honest hotel review also! I imagine the river traffic is sufficient to keep the water moving and deter mosquitoes?

    • @JoeandNicsRoadTrip
      @JoeandNicsRoadTrip  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Great question. I'll say this - I was not bitten by any mosquitos while in downtown, and mosquitos love biting me. The river is pretty quiet. Perhaps the city sprays early in the morning? Honestly, I'm not sure.

      I left SA for Houston. I regret it every day. Downtown Houston is horrible and pretty dangerous at times. I always went downtown when I lived there.

    I've been to San Antonio (33 states, most major cities), and there's just no way you think San Antonio has the most beautiful downtown...no way. I'd throw in Miami, Chicago, Madison, Vegas...but not San Antonio. Btw I love Texas, it's undoubtedly one of the best states...just not one of the prettiest.

    • @JoeandNicsRoadTrip
      @JoeandNicsRoadTrip  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We’ll have to disagree. I’ve been to those other cities and they are nice, but it’s tough to beat that awesome Riverwalk.

      Fair enough. Do u have a favorite small town? If uve never been, I recommend checking out Galena, Illinois. It's very charming. Has a 1950s vibe. I only know about it bcuz I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. Galena is about a 3-4 hour drive west of Chicago (depending on how fast u drive). Worth the trip!
