I think Ester Dean and the production duo Stargate were a great team. I really like Stargate's production because most of their early 2010's stuff was synth heavy. I love this!! You can actually feel the original meaning behind the lyrics. She is talking about a lustful love. In 2013 everyone though the lyrics talked about she waiting forever for JB (☠️), and nope. Her vocal perfectly fits this song. It sounds better. No shade to Selena. I love her as a person and as an artist. But this song sounds so much better in Ester Dean's voice. No, it's Ester Dean singing, this is a demo.
Dean wrote "Come & Get It" with Rihanna in mind for Rih's 2011 "Talk That Talk" album. But Rihanna ultimately decided not to record the song, eventually it was given to Selena.
