I now use a drift sock to control my drift when I'm sup fishing and either sit on mt yeti or stand to cast. I'm based in the UK and my iSUP s have clocked up over 30,000 airmiles on fishing trips over the past 4 years. Can't wait to see you being towed around by a large striper!
Dude, even though it was a tough day fishing you have totally inspired me to fish on my SUP! My wife and I just purchased inflatables to increase our summer fun here in Wyoming. Thank you!
Why? They're way more sturdy than your hooks, you'll only scratch them. Depending on brand they're double /three pvc layers at least. No worries, do research and buy a decent one.
They are made of a pretty durable PVC. If its pumped up to the right PSI, your hook should just roll right off without snagging the board. Believe me, you'll be fine.
I love how you’re never afraid to try brand new things! Maybe sitting on a cooler would be a benefit for you next time? I see lots of guys sitting on those round ones. Maybe could try a drift sock instead of your leg? Doesn’t look like this board has any gear track?
Good stuff! It looks like getting off the bank on the water is getting easier and easier. I have a kayak because it fits my needs because a jon boat/bass boat just wont work for me. Looks like if something like a kayak is inconvenient an inflatable SUP is perfect.
Thats exactly why I got one. I dont have a big SUV or a trailer. So I looked into these because you can just toss it into your trunk with a few other supplies and be on your way. The only draw back is the time to pump it up..... Feels like it takes forever
You have fine balance from fishing off the rocks in Montauk so that board would be probably no problem for you but not for me if you're going to sit down might as well use a kayak much more efficient
Surprised to see how rigid that thing is. Looks pretty light too the way you were throwing it around. Beautiful sunset! And yeah I’d like to see some more of that.
I ISUP fish all the time. The boards are made up of some pretty durable PVC material and are pretty ridged enough to be compared to the hard boards. It'll take a pretty good snagging of the hook to puncture the board before it slips off the board.
All boards are not created equal. You might want to try something wider and heavier, that would equal more stability and it would help to lower your center of gravity (sit). I’ll bet if you do a google search you’ll find someone who’s got it figured out, but I’m not sure that you’ll ever want to live to SUP lol.
I actually use a stadium seat on mine and have a crate I created with rod holders attached to it that I bungee to the back of the board behind the seat. Im working on a cooler to use as a live well and get a scotty rod holder put into the lid.

Paddle board fishing is pretty fun
I liked for the walleye! Good video makes me excited to try fishing on my paddleboard
I've seen guys in Hawaii fly fishing off these boards and they sit down to cast and retrieve. Great video Rich!
Be interesting to see you hook a good sized striper on that paddle board

I have and inflatable board and love fishing. I’m scared to fish off of it thought because I feel like I’m gonna put a hole in it

Try to use a correct side of the oar,it’s a lot better.
Great video
how is it hard enough to stand on if it inflatable?
The air pressure that builds up inside. Thats why they all have recommended PSIs.

I'm not the only one noticing you're using the paddle backwards? Seems a common mistake, ah well, suppose it still works.

You did great!! Of course you can tie down a beach chair/cooler/kayak seat/stadium seat......and VOILA !
