Great job on this video. We really appreciated some explanation and the overview. Just installed mine. No worries but it was nice to have something awesome to watch while we relaxed after the install. I need to go eat something! Cheers!
That steam basket is amazing. I cooked a bag of frozen spinach in it for the very first thing, which is one of the hardest things to get right IMO, and it came out perfect. I haven't tried the convection mode yet, but it appears that there are two options: convection roast that's a hybrid microwave/bake, and pure convection that's just baking from an electric element. At least, that's what I get from the guides. I also want to try some rice in the steam basket because that might be a great way to make a single-portion of rice.
Hi, just about to install the microwave. Hoping you remember using the back wall paper template. I'm trying to figure out if the edge of the paper template should be flush with the cabinet above or if I should cut the paper edge off so that the printed line is flush with the cabinet above. Specifically where the back wall meets the cabinet above.
So sorry for the late response!! I had this same problem when I installed the unit. The First time around, the microwave was a quarter inch below the line of the cabinet. I had to remove the microwave and move the template up a quarter inch. But I can’t remember if that was in line with the printed line on the template!! So sorry. I hope that you got it hung alright!
@@gochefgo No worries! I ended up taking measurements from back of microwave and compared with the template spacing to get a rough idea. Worked out well. So far so good. Super quiet while it cooks. You almost don't believe it did anything till you feel the heat of the item you just cooked! Microwave and double oven range are in. We still await our side by side fridge... Store gave us a loaner in the meantime. Hope you are still enjoying your KA appliances! Take care and keep safe.!
Hi Michelle, can you help me out? I'm wondering how much space you need between the bottom of this microwave and the top of your stovetop? I just bought a Kitchenaid double oven range, and this looks like the exact same stainless color and handle treatments. Thank you!
@@makeyourfaith Hi there, I followed the KA recommendation that came within the microwave installation kit. I think it's somewhere between 15 and 18 inches. I installed our microwave with a distance of 17 or 18 inches between the microwave bottom and the cooktop surface. Hope that helps. Enjoy your KA appliances!
Hello. I know this is an older video, but just got this and have a question. There are 2 heating elements at the top. I notice that no matter what I cook, only 1 element heats up orange (the one closest to me). Does this happen to yours?
I actually wonder if your vent's working okay when you're cooking on high heat... We moved into this new condo unit and our vent hasn't been sucking ANY smoke in (the fan inside seems to be working okay though). We had kitchenaid's mechanic come over and check today, apparently the vent just sucks...
We have the same issue. New microhood. Won't hold up a tissue. Won't pull steam. We took out the grates and it worked somewhat better. But probably not safe?
We bought a KitchenAid over range microwave in late 2018. Magnetron went bad in early 2021.....part controls food heating. I was told a new microwave would be cheaper than to fix this issue. Felt totally ripped-off. All the KitchenAid models were out of stock at our favorite appliance store (???!). Refused a Whirlpool (owns KitchenAid I hear). Bought a Samsung...see what that's like. Our old Kenmore lasted 22-years and still worked when we removed it....just ugly and impossible to clean.
@@0714will I will say the one thing with many modern appliances.. they are largely modular plug and play boards and components. In some ways makes them easier to maintain, or at least problem solve. Sometimes it's easy to narrow down a board, but to narrow down a specific capacitor, resistor, diode etc etc thats a different skill set that not many have.
There is a whirlpool that is split image of a kitchenaid. The buttons are exactly the same and same spot. The interior of the microwave also looks exactly the same. The only difference is a handle and some accessories
I am so conflicted on this microwave/convection oven issue. In my current microwave I can bake potatoes, steam vegetables, etc. I still haven’t figured out how the convection part will help me cook a roast? I need a demo on this. Mainly, because the difference in price for just a microwave on top or a Convection oven/microwave is about $500 - $600.
microwaves use radiation to jiggle water molecules around in food and liquid which creates the heat. convection oven uses a traditional heating element with a blower motor to circulate warm air. you can also just buy a countertop standalone convection (aka air fryer) for pretty cheap but it'll take up more space. if you're happy with your over the range microwave and have the counterspace just look for a standalone air fryer counter unit instead. either way, convection cooking is far superior.
Bro, that is not just a microwave, its also a convection oven. So you are not microwaving everything, many of those functions are simply convection oven baked
Yes exactly! It's great because then I don't have to fire up the big oven for everything. The "microwave" takes much less time and power for the same end result.
That wasn't a review that was reading a couple things out of the manual and a few buttons on the face. Had you even cooked a single thing in the microwave before you posted this "review"?
We have the same one. Had to replace the door lock out switch in the first year of use. The switch split in half. Just like their refrigerator's. All junk. Junk parts. Junk engineering. Kitchen Aid wont help you. They just point you to a repair person that will charge you for something that should be working properly for years.

Yeah Buddy!! That means alot, thank you. I'm glad that someone out there thought that the video was watchable!
Excellent presentation, sir!
We just installed a kitchenaid microwave, and we LOVE it!
I’m blown away by how many features there are!!! Still discovering new things that this Microwave can do.

Just picked this up. Excited to see some of these settings...
Very help full just brought one, it as a a lot of bells and whistles, oh yeah baby love, love 💕
Thanks for this review. I have one on order that is supposed to be here on May 14th.
Looks like the KA ***319ESS. Mine gets here this Saturday (I hope) so your video helps a bunch. Can't wait to give it a workout. Thanks!
Right on! I think that you are going to be happy with it. It feels different from other microwaves.
Three years later, how has this microwave oven held up?
Thank you for the review
That’s very kind…man 😅

Question: What button should I push if I want to toast a piece of bread? Can't find it in any of the instructions. Thanks for the helpful video.
how do you change the filter?
We just got this and the front "button" control panel does not light up so I cannot see which buttons to push to do anything without a flashlight. Bad
The white tabs that hold the rack aren't plastic they're ceramic.
Do I need to take the roller wheels out from under the rotating plate prior to baking? I’m afraid they may melt.
No, I don’t believe so

I’m not quite sure. I hope that you figured it out.
Were the grease filters included in the purchase or separate purchase?
One package was included

Not quite sure without going back and looking.

Sadly. Welcome to modern appliances....
Sounds like the same thing happened with mine. Complete crap.
Ordered my magnatron today. Cheap easy fix. A monkey could do it. 😆
