One of my most favorite pieces to play.... I do so love this piece.... It's Handel exclaiming to God above Hallelujah for there is a savior and you are God omnipotent, Hallelujah for life eternal.... forever and ever.... AMEN
Hallelujah !! Christ is born, to us a Savior is given ! Thank you Paul for helping us celebrate with this glorious performance! God Bless you and Merry Christmas !!
Absolutely Wonderful !!! Sorry my earphones can't provide the depth (64' pedal stop) of the experience it must have been like to be there with you live.
Handel wrote the Messiah for Easter but Hallelujah is a Hebrew word that translates Praise God. And there's never a wrong time to sing or play that. Thanks Paul for sharing this awesome music with us!
One of the most stirring examples of Baroque music played on a magnificent instrument… You are an artist that can breathe life into this music from so long ago and make us feel the same emotions that Handel intended! Thank you, Paul, for this beautiful gift…
"Hallelujah Chorus never gets old. It inspires and uplifts every time you hear it. And this organ in my favorite city is, like Paul said, one of the most magnificent in sound quality. Thanks Paul for sharing again an improved version of your magnificent performance.

God bless you Paul! Thank You for sharing your talents with us all! Beautiful organ music touches a place in my heart, especially when played so beautifully! I hope one day to hear you in person! Merry Christmas!🙏🏻😊

The improved audio shows off even more of that organs' power. (We might have a close match here in the 2015 Quimby organ at the 4th. Presbyterian Church. "An organ the size of a building" - TH-cam video). I'm anticipating what you post for next week. From Chicago, U.S.A.
A rhythmically strong performance with tremendous momentum. In the 'King of kings' and 'Lord of lords' motifs I'd use trumpet or tuba solo, even en charmade trumpets to make a dramatic statement. The last 'Ha-le-lu-jah' should have four chords rather than three.
Steffen.
@@michaelazabell406The rocking tabs (usually couplers) above the manuals aren't depressed, I thought the crescendo pedal only engages the stops but not the couplers, or is it not necessarily the case? Another possibility is the audio was taken from another take.

My office is just a couple of blocks away from that church. I would have loved to hear play that in person. It is an amazing organ and space.

Christmas hymns on organs have a special place in my heart. The bass pipes makes it very enjoyable for me.
Then you‘ll love this one!! 😀😀
I was moved beyond words✨
Thank you for always letting me listen to your wonderful performances🙏

There seems to be a bit of a disagreement amongst people when to perform The Messiah: during Advent or during Lent; what do you reckon, Paul? 😛

As ever incredible. One question - I might be losing it but I’m sure that the stops aren’t pulled out. How is this possible?
Could be that he has the crescendo pedal open all the way. But yes, very puzzling!
@ that could be! I was thinking more along the lines of midi but that wouldn’t make sense in such a big organ…
@@michaelazabell406The rocking tabs (usually couplers) above the manuals aren't depressed, I thought the crescendo pedal only engages the stops but not the couplers, or is it not necessarily the case? Another possibility is the audio was taken from another take.
@@cmtwei9605 crescendo pedals can engage couplers. But that is likely too! Audio and video taken separately
Sehr gut! But it's a little mystifying that only one stop seems to be drawn on the entire right jamb!

@@michaelazabell406 Yeah, that's got to be what's going on. Good catch.
Belíssimo.

Hey Paul, you have same video on your channel. Added on 27. 6. 2023.
Why you shared same videos?
Hi David! Inreworked the video so it has improved audio quality. I also felt like it would be appropriate for a best-of for Christmas 😀
