I can personally relate to the feeling of nostalgia, as the Sinnoh anime was one of the first Pokemon anime series I've ever watched. I even caught a glimpse of some of the Japanese intro and ending songs when I begin to learn more about anime in general. The song, Kaze No Message, is actually the first Japanese anime songs I've ever listened to ever since I discovered the Pokemon series, which of course brought back so many memories of watching beautiful moments as Ash adventured through the Sinnoh region. The fact that the 4th generation was how I began playing and watching Pokemon just gives so much nostalgia because of how far I've come since 4th gen. Now when I see the newer adaptations of the Pokemon anime it just doesn't give as much of memorable moments as 4th gen did, I remembered when Ash and his group's first encounter with Dialga, Palkia, and Darkrai in the Oracion movie, then the Giratina movie, and especially the Arceus movie too. Now when I hear that the writers are going to push the "reset button" on Ash for the Sun and Moon adaptation, I honestly feel sad that they're going to remove all of the development and adventures that Ash had previously undergo-ed, and it's because they were moments which I, and possibly many others, shared with this character growing up which sparked so many fantastic moments where we would remember them within our hearts. Now when I see Ash's face in the new adaptation it just doesn't feel like the Ash who went through hardships and a long history of accomplishments and overcoming obstacles, the Ash in Sun and Moon just feels like as if somebody took Ash's face and placed it on a doppelganger who barely resembles of what Ash used to be. Kaze No Message's lyrics represented what the Pokemon anime was like, there is concepts about going for your dreams (Ash wanting to become a Pokemon master while Dawn a Pokemon coordinator), a motivational "never give up" message, and of course nostalgia (it's actually in the lyrics xD). Maybe I think of this because nostalgia is about reminiscing the good memories and disregarding any bad ones, or maybe I judge the newer version of the Pokemon anime harshly because it doesn't give as much excitement as the older seasons did for me... Regardless of the reasons I personally feel like the older adaptations are a better style for the Pokemon anime because it felt like it fit with the whole genre in general. I just grew up with the art style and the direction of the story, which is completely different in Sun and Moon. Though I am not saying that Sun and Moon is bad, just that it is something I am not familiar with when I first began watching Ash and Pikachu become such an iconic figure in my childhood.

Throwback to when we had songs like this. Now we have that sun and moon shit. I really hope Pokémon goes back to the old anime style after sun/moon, because most fans HATE this new anime.
