I didn't grow up in the best home and what was a wake up call for me was getting to spend the night at a friend's house from a different socio-economic background. It helped me realize how messed up my own family was. It motivated me to get out of there and do something with my life. Your environment can really become a prison.

I realized families had home cooked meals at tables more than just at Christmas and Thanks Giving. Other families didn't hit nor yell. Their houses were clean. Their clothes were not stained. the language they used was different. They had bedtimes and structure. Even the way they talked to each other was different. Going to my best friend's house was my sanctuary. I want better for myself, and I will never let my future children (hoping) live the life I had.

lol Well they're trying to make a difference and change has to start somewhere. Some parents are very lax and uncomfortable discipling their kids maybe they had controlling parents or were abused so they value freedom. Or don't know how to talk to their kids in a way that gives them structure. It's cool these people are able to come in and help because no one is a perfect parent and everyone has issues or weaknesses.

It is too late if those involved have no desire to change- if giving the children a better life and keeping them in their lives is not more important to the adults involved than the resistance to change. Some adults simply do not have the capacity to care enough to make change happen, or to accept that it needs to. Not every family can be saved. We can all only do our best, even if when exhausting all other options with ample time, the best is to remove the children so that they have the chance of a better life.

You are right about everything. I wish more people would recognize it and that it isn't selfish if you choose not to have kids. I have lost count how many times I have been told how selfish I am because I do not want kids. I have also been told repeatedly that I am "incredibly selfish" because I "refuse to give my mother grandchildren". I have known since I was a teen that although I like kids I am not parental material and would not be a good parent. There are many reasons that I wouldn't. This includes lifestyle and financial reasons. I have a lifestyle and finances that would not accommodate a child and I am not willing to change. Knowing this about myself I have always made sure to have safeguards in place to prevent a situation that wouldn't be desirable for either a child or myself. I also knew if safeguards failed and I did end up pregnant I would place the child for adoption. People call me selfish but I always felt that it would be more selfish of me to have kids knowing how I feel. It also amazes me how many people still think that a women's ultimate goal and ambition in life is to get married and have kids and if a woman chooses not to then they will regret it and be miserable later on.

It’s really nobody else’s business whether you choose to have children or not. If you were unable to bear a child for whatever reason or couldn’t carry a child to full term I wonder what they would respond with? I fully support your right to choose your lifestyle! Next time someone asks you why you don’t have children tell them if it was any of their business they’d be the first to know!
Quite a few years back there was a newspaper columnist called Ann Landers. She once asked her readers if they could do it again would they still choose to have children. Poor, sick, abused, and broken families receive barely enough to survive. This only adds to hardship and causes barriers that make it difficult to overcome or break the cycle. These people don't get handouts. They get scraps thrown down to them so that the rich feel better about having 5 cars and living in a house with empty rooms.

Anything you can do to clean and stay motivated in playing with your child is very important. Only people on this video that is simply trying to improve is the social workers. I honestly do wish that more people just openly admitted and accepted the fact that they shouldn't have kids in the first place. So many people have children not because they want them or are prepared for them but because it's the socially acceptable thing to do. Then later on down the line the parents realize that they made a mistake but it's too late, and stuff like this ends up happening. The parents are miserable because they feel exhausted and helpless and just give up. The kids feel miserable because they feel like the parents just don't care, or they feel like a burden because no one wants them. It's really really sad. I'm both grateful for my parents and grateful for the fact that I've decided to never reproduce.

I raised 3 teenage kids (they were each a year apart) as a single mom and yes it's crazy with a lot of kids in the house, each kid with 2 or 3 friends, BUT there were RULES and they either followed them or weren't allowed friends over. I was lucky and we lived in town in a big house with a nice yard for a fire pit and small garden. We didn't have any money even though I worked full time ++, but the girls learned to sew and my son started working at 13 as a dishwasher (he begged me) and we loved shopping at thrift stores togehter. Maybe I was just blessed with amazing kids who are all now amazing independent happy adults, but they all knew about and used birth control! Shawn needs reform school and the boy needs to go home or go to reform school too and the mother needs some psychiatric help. But a 14 year old having her boyfriend stay all night is WRONG. After 13 minutes I can’t stomach anymore!

  • @bbevensadams6296

Her daughter was pregnant 3 months ago but lost the baby. She’s barely 16. By mom’s own admission, her daughter’s boyfriend stays over most nights. So mom tells her daughter to get on birth control. Doesn’t take her to the doc, doesn’t do anything at all to ensure that her daughter actually does it. The boyfriend cheated on her daughter and the daughter was getting mean emails from the other girl involved. Mom’s solution? Let her daughter drop out of school. The boyfriend is about to get the entire family evicted. The mother does NOTHING. This mother is neglectful to the level of being horribly abusive. Parents like her should be jailed. Parents like her slack off like this because nobody holds her accountable. They’re being told that Martin is getting them evicted and the boy just rolled his eyes and laugh. Shameful. Despicable. 😡

Lisa Cundiff I know right! She acts totally defeated about everything. I’m American so I’m not too familiar with Britain’s public assistance system. If the 16 year old daughter has a baby and continues to live with her mother, do either of them receive additional money? What I’m asking really is, does the mother not care about her getting prego because it comes with money? Lord I hope not. Lol!
