I am German-Turkish. My grandparents emigrated from Bulgaria to Turkey. I've known banitsa since I was a child and I love it. I love ayran or boza. Thank you and best wishes from the Black Forest ♥️
Hello from Turkiye. I have eaten it in Bansko and never forget it. I am grateful for English recipe, I baked it today first time in my life and the tray was empty within 30 mins. Thank you. Amazing!
Greetings From Tel Aviv and thank you for this great video. We are the second generation of Bulgarian parents who came here 80 years ago and keep the food tradition alive. The best food ever!
Nice job! I grew up on Banitsa or pita. Only thing that I do different is drizzle or brush melted butter on each sheet. Ayran is the perfect drink to have with it. Mama taught you well!
This looks so good! I always rolled banitsa into a spiral of rolls when I made it at home, but this is how I remember getting it as street food in Bulgaria and can't wait to follow your recipe.
Love this recipe ! I have watched others yours is the best and explained very well ! Thank you 🙏 so much and thank you to your beautiful mother 😊 from australia
I'm making a video very soon. Just put out the sourdough started video, which you need to make boza. So expect that within the next couple of weeks, as part of a video for what you can do with excess starter :)
Here is a short video: th-cam.com/users/shortsfgjhRiWvhxU and a more detailed one, plus more ideas of what you can do with your leftover sourdough starter: th-cam.com/video/vuyEIpvEafY/w-d-xo.html

You’re probably American but let me explain to you, if you put feta cheese and cheese in general in any dish, salt is no needed plus Bulgarians use a lot of spices in general but this one is not supposed to be heavy so that’s why we don’t use any spices on this one :)

You can always do it in a roll, but I just prefer it this way 🙃
did you follow it ?
Thanks for the recipe! When I was a teenager, banitsa was my favourite lunch for school in Gabrovo. Very filling and delicious!
Mine too, in Vidin 😁
Cool! I'm actually from Romania, but used to go to summer school in Gabrovo. @@ROLcooks

What about the nihow spasiba chai?

No pepper? no parsley? no dill? no spices? Sounds like a very boring cuisine!
It's anything but boring, my friend :)
Wow who are you to judge
