The rear speakers should crank sounds like there might be a software issue I highly recommend that you completely delete your system from the app and restart once that's complete you go into the Bose soundtouch app and you can now turn the rear speakers to a plus 10 turn them up to the max then run your adapt IQ process again this will fix the process also watch my video on how to place them to maximize your overall experience having the sub included also will make a big difference on how the sound but trust me just delete everything and start the process again and it will fix it most likely you had a hiccup in a software update and the adapt IQ process got messed up remember when you're getting 5.1 surround sound the only sounds that should be coming out of those would be gunshots Etc but for music you can now crank them to max level let me know how it goes

I finally set up the acoustimass 300 today after finding a new model on ebay after having just the soundtouch 300 for 2 years, wow what a step up I'm gobsmacked with the system now, just waiting on the rear speakers to arrive before I go ahead and balance it with the adapt iq.

Yesterday I walked into my local electronics shop (JBhifi) with the intention of buying a cheaper samsung 300w sound bar but had a listen to this bose soundtouch, it literally gave me goosebumps with the crisp clear sounds it produced and I just had to have it! Virtual surround
Dialog clarity
Equalizer
None of these are available to me.
No sure if I missed it but what tv exact model and year do you have? Also of you have streaming service I want you to go and look for different formats on the movie or show information and see if the play change your tv to auto audio

JB. Thanks for the video. It has me in the right track, it think. I just purchased the surround speakers for my ST300.
When setting up my Samsung Ultra HD Blu-Ray, my options are English Dolby Atmos, or French, Spanish, or Portuguese 5.1 Dolby Digital. Right now I have it set to English Dolby Atmos.
My Samsung TV is set to Audio 0 and the Audio Format is set to DTS Neo 2.5. Dolby Digital is displayed but is not available to me.
Dolby Digital Comp is set to RF. The other selection is “line”.
I’m still just getting sound from the rear speakers but no sound effects. I was successful setting up the app and was able to adjust the volume of the speakers. Calibration was performed when I installed the speakers.
To test the surround sound system I was playing a Star Wars HD movie.
Your suggestions are appreciated.
Check what format your tv is compatible with and use that example Dolby. Then you will get Dolby Digital 5.1. Turn the rears up to 100 in the bose app and when available they should play correctly. th-cam.com/play/PLMdd-qroR8HXYpKEY4W5vrw3p6zGdrjuH.html

JB. Update. The DVD says Dolby Atmos. Had to use a magnifier to see it. So does that mean I won’t experience the surround sound I’m expecting from that movie?
Movies have serval sond formats and will advise the best available like atmos. But whatever your blu ray player and tv and bar is compatible with the best format available will play as long as your output settings are correct and set for surround sound 👍

But daily I use Max bass surround to plus 10 and center to plus 2 and pcm because bitstream constantly cuts out so I now just stick to pcm for basic stuff the TV will kick to Dolby digital automatically when available

What’s your thought on the rear speakers ? I have heard a few people say don’t worth buying them because there a preset volume ?? And I’m about to purchase the bass module but also heard a lot of people are not getting s good experience saying it’s a bit weak? And not have to the bass module plugged in when you adapt IQ?? I just have the sound bar atm and loveeee it! Seriously sounds so good looking at completing the set up

But the rear and sub is a most. It will rock your house and in my mind is a must. Also you have full control of the rear speakers now and can turn them to full +10 volume if you'd like. The only way to have true 5.1 Dolby Digital is to have the entire set you can also have 2 subs now making it 5.2😇🥳

Great video and very informative. I'm thinking about getting this system. I have a question. Can you turn the bass off on the sound bar. So I only receive the bass from the acoustimass. There will constantly be software updates to run. also most of the time depending on when you buy it you never know when the system was actually made. it could have been sitting on the shelf for the last 8 months at the store you purchased. But even if you were to get one right off the Manufacturing line. most likely another software update will come that you need. Also as far as shutting the base off on the Soundbar itself? Technically you can't however you can turn the center channel up to the max which will make the bass tone itself way way back just by default. you can however turn the sub on and off. but I'll tell you what this thing sounds beautiful all together. I've attached my other two videos on this system just in case you did not see them they might be of help making your decision. Unfortunately on the bar itself there is nothing but some lights the way you know what it's putting out is what you set your TV or xbox or blu ray etc etc to. so basically you set your TV to Dolby Digital and when it has a movie that actually outputs Dolby Digital it automatically kicks it on and then switch it back to regular when it's not. So basically it does it all for you the only thing you have to do is set it in your TV or your output source whatever it is. And now a new feature with the latest update is you can actually turn the rear speakers up to a Max of 10. so if you want to listen to music all of your speakers are firing at full volume now which is awesome. What I found by talking to lots of people and owning two of these systems myself. is the arc problem is coming from the HDMI cable included with the system. every person that's had this problem that buys a new cable no longer has the problem. kind of strange I know. Just have a question about adding front speakers on the sides of our LG TV OLED SERIES;
I got one set of 300's speakers on the rear wall so,
By adding another set of 300 invisible speakers at front wall, (each side of tv) will the 300 sountouch bar be able to adjust the whole 4 speakers resulting; in a better surround sound all around front and back?
If so how do I go about it?

But the best way is hdmi arc but there is also optical. So l everything plugged in to your tv and then either hdmi arc or optical and you are set.

The 500 Soundbar system is the same system on a smaller scale thats why its more affordable. So in the right size room it should still give you a great sound experience.

You did a terrific job with this review much better than most! Agree with you about the Dolby Atmos. I will say though that Bose on the surround speakers, could’ve did a better job of making them one piece rather than that entire contraption, just like Sonos and Sony and many others. Trying to fit those pieces behind my night tables is not easy what were they thinking?

I have the st300 soundbar and the subwoofer. I have had it connected to my tv for several months and all has been great, sound is awesome. I have just added a PS4 console and now I am unable to have the soundbar work at all. Using the HDMI ARC connection but just will not work now. I have started from scratch several times, changed cables but still no luck. Any ideas??

Una vez conectando la barra,el bajo y las Bocinas Invisibles, puedes controlar la barra,el bajo y las mismas bocinas, despues toma la diadema para programar donde se sientan para optimizar el sonido y el sistema "Sorrund" cuando ven películas en casa.
Yo tuve ese problema al principio y En un vídeo de JB sobre el tema lo solucione, ya que las bocinas invisibles no tenían volúmen cuando las conecté al Sound bar 300,entonces fue cuando indage en el tema y me crucé con Un vídeo De él sobre el tema..
Alomjeor el App viene en inglés pero en el menú puedes cambiar el Idioma..

I found your videos are best for Bose speaker setup. I have upgraded from sound touch 300 to soundbar 700. I have new virtually invisible speakers series II. Does these invisible speakers work with 700. What is the difference between virtually invisible speakers and surround speakers for 700. Are these same?.

I definitely recommend you get the rear speakers they make a huge difference. Why would you upgrade for that much money from something that is nearly identical to what you already had...for Alexa? The 300 sound wise is basically the same.

Yea. They are almost always running promos just unadvertised. If you you call your local Bose store and ask the sales rep they'll tell you. Otherwise, you'll never know. Maybe i can get them to discount the Soundtouch 10 👍

Great review! But I have an additional question. Does the sound bar connect to the speaker itself of does it connect to the box that the power comes from? I have great news for you I have covered this entire system in great detail through 3 videos including set up methods and multi-room. I've explained complete setup and have showing each of the power boxes. I have attached the to link to those videos above please check them out and let me know if you have any additional questions. As far as the power goes the bar does have a power cord as well as each individual speaker when you get the rear speakers. Also the subwoofer😉 the system itself can be connected through HDMI ARC support Optical or Wireless. But everything runs off the SoundTouch 300. You should have no problems with communication in your island. All the other components for multi-room audio runs off wifi. Make sure you have a good router and your speaker add on will work perfectly. If you decide on multi room. But as far as completing your 5.1 surround. Yea...been there done that...when I turn video sync off on Bose app...the speakers sync but delayed from TV. When I turn video sync on the delay cones back to the 30?
What kind of router do you have?
Actually i think i might know. In your Samsung tv it often doesn't switch over to optical grab the Samsung remote hit menu go to sound and flip through until it get back to optical again

Yeah the router connects your 30 using wifi direct so bandwidth doesn't matter but signal quality does and could be the cause of delay if switching through back to optical doesn't work try resetting the router. The virtually invisible speakers connect directly from the bar but everything else connects using Wi-Fi that's why it's so important to be on the same channel preferably 5 gigahertz channel

Hey ! Thanks for a great tutorial . I learned such a lot - especially as I found the bose instructions a bit vague , and struggled to get it set up , at first . One thing I`m having trouble with is that I already owned a soundtouch 20 unit . When I play music from my itues , using the bose app , everything works well together , but when I watch TV , the sound from the ST20 lags about five seconds behind the ST300 . Any ideas ? I`ll go and watch your other videos , for more info . Thanks again .

I'm honored that you've subscribed and have taken your time to share a comment😇 sorry to hear that you're having issues. but you should be able to fix these pretty easily. first thing to do unplug your modem and router plug your modem back in wait 60 seconds for it to boot fully up. then same with your router. once everything is booted up plug in all of your Bose devices and connect them to the same channel whether it be the 2.4 gigahertz or 5 make sure they're all on the same one. Next in the soundtouch app turn the audio sync switch to on in audio settings. next go into your TV and turn the audio delay to zero in audio settings. Once this is done this should fix the problem. if it's still happening while it's playing a movie just pause it. Then wait 30 seconds and unpause. let me know if this fixes your problem. If it's still happening it could very well be your Wi-Fi router. Every thing communicates this way. But its probably just a settings issue. I just did another video that might help. Would you recommend buying a different HDMI for this? I have the full system and it works perfect! But I was wondering should i swap out the HDMI that came with the SoundTouch 300 for another?

My cable of choice is monster black however the price is kinda out of control. I'm not sure where you live but Sam's club actually has a great cable they sell in a 2 pack for 20 bucks believe it or not. Its 4k hdr 18gbs very hi quality. Let me know if I can help in any way! But as far as the system goes ot will need to connect to do Sofware updates but I guess once that is done in theory would not need it if your ok with not using online features. I however would not recommended that you purchase without being able to connect to the internet. Power everything on and let everything run then unplug the Bose 300 from the wall wait 60 seconds and then plug it back in this will force your TV to search for it also make sure that the HDMI cable is still in the HDMI ARC on the TV and on the bar. On the Bose 300 remote make sure to press the icon that looks like a television screen also go on to the soundtouch 300 app and make sure that the latest software is up-to-date here is my problem Solutions videos for the 700 most of these are the same for the 300 it might be useful th-cam.com/video/EOE8S0tp2Dg/w-d-xo.html

I don’t understand your question regarding streaming service. However, I can tell you we have ATT fiber optic 500 and Direct TV.
Let me look up formats. Also what I mean by streaming is like as a example Netflix or Disney plus
So I looked up the tv specs and I was kind of shocked as it doesn't support Dolby Digital 5.1 surround. I does support dts 5.1 however. This will be the issue. Even if the bar supports the format the tv will stop it and feed either the supported formats or pcm. Or 2 channel Dolby

Using both optical and HDMI input -have you tried and been able to this successfully? Would be using the digital optical audio for the PS4, Blu ray 4K via a switch but would want to be able to use the HDMI/ARC for audio-out from the TV via the built-in apps. Great review - have a Sonos setup upstairs but am seriously thinking of getting this for the downstairs TV.

I just got my second unit and put it on my new q9. It set it up so much quicker for some reason. when I had HDMI ARC or Optical setup and now I can easily switch with a push of a button. I guess the real reason I only do it is because I went out and spent so much money on nice optical cables LOL pretty much 90% of the time using Arc. Art is actually the way to go and with one cable all of your Sound Works from All 4 HDMI ports. I have a Sonos that I bought a little over a year ago now I think it's in my son's room he likes to play his games with surround sound haha. That's a great system also but I have to say I am very impressed with sountouch just wow. But to answer your question directly you will have no issues using either Arc or Optical for any of your devices that you choose. Awesome -so you are familiar with the Sonos setup. I have this setup upstairs, sound bar, 2 1's and the bass unit. Since you have heard both - you still prefer the Bose over Sonos for home theatre? $price wise, very much the same but curious which if you only picked one - it would be Bose? Yeah so true story when I went to the store originally.. I was talked into the Sonos by the sales guy. eventually I decided to get the soundtouch then I decided to get another one lol it's absolutely spectacular. hands down I would pick Bose I'm not saying that sonos is not good it is and you're right there around exactly the same price. I've completed the entire Bose system you can now run 2 subs at once it's pretty crazy but awesome lol I've done three Total videos on the soundtouch.
is it possible to add 2 more of the surrounds (same unit) and create a 7.1 sound effect?
Complete system is 5.1 with two subs it's 5.2 but then you can do multi-room audio which you can actually create stereo sound with a pair of two or more of 1 Bose external speakers. it's not technically 7.1 though as the external speakers are actually just stereo sound🤔 th-cam.com/video/2btOaAAF4ns/w-d-xo.html

I have a 135 projector screen. Would I need a switcher to add my devices into the soundbar?
The 300 bar has a hdmi arc and a hdmi in capable of 4k passthrough so it can be connected through HDMI Optical or Bluetooth as far as the rear speakers and sub are concerned those are wirelessly connected to the bar itself.

So depending upon what your device has for its outsource will depend upon your switch. If it has hdmi cec then you will be ok.

Watched this vid again as I plan on adding the rear speakers in the near future. Question, I noticed you mentioned that potentially there may be the addition of Atmos speakers in the future at this point who knows. However, I tell you when I listen to Atmos material with just the Soundbar and the subwoofer together I'll swear that it's playing Atmos. It kind of blew me away. When jets are flying overhead I hear them going from the front of the room to the back of the room and so on. It's been a pretty amazing experience
Actually I'm so glad you brought that up. So it's because Bose is using Stadium sound which is virtually the same thing IN MY OPINION. Bose Uses the environment to bounce sounds around and give you the same sort of experience. The only thing that they're not doing is upfiring speakers. But yes same here I in one room have two systems one capable of Atmos and one is the full soundtouch 300 system. I actually prefer the soundtouch 300 but anyway same thing. The reason why I say they might add Atmos is because it would be so simply done they would add another pair of speakers ones that face upwards or something and a software update and say it has atmos lol. This of course is just me speculating I have no facts to back that up.

But yes it should depending upon your TV. Also the Bose remote is a master remote that can be programmed to control everything also like your TV. Keep in mind the speaker's will not work without the SoundTouch 300 Soundbar. But once everything is hooked up properly it will control together as one with the remote and app on your phone. I think Sonos was the first ones that did a good job with the sound bar in the wireless whole home sound systems. They have great packaging. A great looking product and it sounded good. Bose kind of stepped out a little bit later in this category in my opinion. But of course Bose has been around for ever making in my opinion amazing sound. But its definitely one of those things I think you'll be okay either way you choose.

Oh do not worry my friend the Bose virtually invisible speakers will rock your house now. They came out with a software update about 2 months or so ago where you can actually turn the level up to 10. Now when you listen to music you can actually crank them just as loud as all of your other speakers. You will love this system I promise.

So to use the virtually invisible speakers you do have to have the to soundtouch 300 turned on. However you can still plug in the virtually invisible speakers pretty far away example outside and the sound would still come out of them. This is an awesome party system. I actually have speakers throughout my entire house and yard now all ran off of the soundtouch 300 and you can use the speakers also individually if wanted or all at the same time. Thanks again for your support let me know if I can help in any way.
hey i love my st 300 too i got the whole 5.1 system although not tbe multi rooms. i think its the best on the market. i wanted to ask ya did u ever have a yellow light pop up on your sound bar. on mine it comes up once in a while i have to turn it off and back on to get the lighf off? wondering if u know why that happens?
If you are talking about a pop noise coming from the sub? Call Bose have it replaced it was a problem with a small batch. Call them tell them it keeps happening and they need to fix it😉
Jb TechFanatic no not a popping noise coming from the sub woofer, you know how you have the two white lights on the front of the sound bar one for the wifi and the other is three power light. well sometimes like an maybe once a day a amber yellow light will come up on the front of the sound bar iwanted to see our that ever happens to you or if you know what it meant?
Oh I apologized now I know what you're saying so that is an indication that something is becoming disconnected or it's attempting to connect depending on what line it is it could either be Wi-Fi Bluetooth your subwoofer or your invisible speakers do you happen to remember what symbol it is that's turning Amber so I can help you pinpoint the problem sorry if I'm missing some stuff I have very bad eye problems as my health is very bad and I'm having a hard time seeing right now
And what causes that is interference you can also reset your modem and your router get a good strong signal make sure that the Bose system is connected to the 5 gigahertz signal for the best performance and make sure that you have done the adapt IQ set up and all the software updates for your Bose there's been about 4 software updates😊
Sorry to keep bugging you man but you know so much that’s why I’m a subscriber ! I just got my Q7F! I did everything for the hdr and everything for the sound but in the sound expert settings? The Dolby digital is grayed out ... I have the full soundtouch 300 system... any advice ?
No problem that's why I do this is to help people. It's only available when the movie is in Dolby or dts. Put on a blu ray let it start actually playing the movie then I and will be active. Not every thing is available in 5.1 surround. It nothing to worry about. Also remember to make sure the software is up-to-date on the TV and your surround sound😉 let me know

I had to unplug my SoundTouch 300 system for a few hours - does this have to be calibrated again after a certain amount of time being unhooked or does it save it forever? I’m pretty sure it saves it but wanted to ask you
Whether or not it saves it forever Im actually not sure but I had mine unplugged for weeks and it was still set when i hooked it back up😇

Can you add a 2nd sub to the sound tech 300? And, can you add a 2nd pair of virtually invisible speakers. Large room with several seating configurations that woul be helped with another pair. Thanks.

with any of the above speakers you can add to your current system unfortunately you can only go up to 5.1 surround sound the speakers in the above the videos will only add stereo sound to your system however it does sound quite amazing and will really shake the Room if it is large. or if you decide you can make a multi-room audio experience and put the speakers around your home or in your yard around your pool Etc but No wire needed 👍

I finally added a set of the bose surround speakers model number 809281-5110, they paired perfectly with the soundtouch 300 and acoustimass 300 sub, now I am a bit lost as to what floor stands are compatible with my surround speakers, do you have any info on what will work mate?
any cube stands will work even off brands they have adapters.

Hi, Congrats on your channel. Keep up the great work 💯👍🏻🙏🏼. I’m torn between this system and a 5.1 Mid tier Klipsch surround sound system. I live in an apartment and the living room size is 17 x 20. I’m worried about not having Dolby Atmos and DTS-X. Worried the Bose won’t please me in the long run.

I myself would never worry about formats good old-fashioned Dolby 5.1 sounds amazing and has forna long time. Bose uses a technology called Stadium sound and is very similar to Dolby Atmos the only real difference that I can hear is you don't have up firing speakers. The way I have my soundtouch system setup literally feels like the Dolby Atmos theater to me. I put the sub in a corner with part of it touching my couch. I took the virtually invisible 300 rear speakers I put them behind me pointing diagonally up to the ceiling. Set the center channel to + 3 and the rear to + 10 this thing blows my mind. if I'm being really honest with you in the exact same room I have another system that runs Dolby Atmos. I can honestly tell you I do not hear a difference and prefer the Bose. Now of course this is my opinion and my taste and of course other have different. you can go really high dollar when it comes to Dolby Atmos but apple to apple price is how I would compare. And Apples to Apples I would pick the Bose. Just by your system at a place that has a good return policy that way if you're not happy with that you can return it but definitely don't ever let someone else talk you into something you don't want if you really want to have Atmos definitely grab a system that has it that way you don't have to worry about the long run. Either way I'm here to help and I appreciate your support.

Most definitely if you're not in a rush it wouldn't hurt to wait a few more months and see the new offerings. My latest videos are on a lot of the Samsung appliances. There's a good chance I might work my way into the new line of Sound Bars from Samsung. I actually was not expecting to be as fond of the Bose as I am. I have been so completely blown away by it it still has me scratching my head not that I didn't think it would be good it's just amazing and the fact that it's coming out of a sound bar and some little speakers I don't know it just is amazing LOL I will definitely let you know if I decide to purchase a newer model Samsung bar and review it. Hey, Great reviews! I bought ST300 with Acustimass about 2 months ago. I really like it and it sounds great so far. I found however one issue with the universal remote that I can’t find a solution to. I use bose system together with Samsung suhd 65”. It operates good except for the “back/return” button which doesn’t work at all. I did calibration according to manual. Do you face the same with your samsung tv? From what I read on bose.community it is quite a common thing.
I’d be grateful if you could give me a hint how to fix this.

Thank you so much for watching and subscribing I'm thankful for your support 😇🙏 this is easily fixed first rerun rhe adapt IQ process once completed grab tou bose remote press the bass icon then hit volume up until the little light goes over to the right all the way to max. Keep in mind that process will keep everything balanced to support 5.1 separating the bass to the model the rear to the rears and the center channel in the sound bar. So lastly if you still want more bass in the bar turn the center channel down until your happy 😊 let me know if it gets you up to par😉
I’ve had the system for a while using dish network hopper 3. I have the bar straight to tv off optical. Is there a big difference from hdmi arc and optical??
I should mention I also have the soundbar mounted to the wall right under my tv

The new OmniJewel700 rears definitely make a difference in sound and can be used with the soundtouch300 or bose500 or bose700😇
I recommend having a 1 foot clearance behind the bar and nothing in front or on the sides to maximize your experience 😊

Pcm is ok what happens is everything is not in Dolby digital 5.1 but when the out souce plays it you get Dolby. The only way you would not is if your tv did not support Dolby. In that situation you would want to hook it directly up to your bluray player as a example play a movie supporting it and your good to go.
As far as your hopper turn on Dolby and surround sound in its settings. Mostly streaming or the movie channels will give you Dolby but not regular tv. But optical cables are easily able to produce and carry full Dolby digital 5.1.

Thank you so much for watching my video I'm honored that you considered subscribing and taking your time to comment 😊 as of now this set is not Dolby Atmos compatible. Maybe in the future they will add its compatibility with some new wireless add-ons and a software update. But as of today it is not. As far as how it compares it actually in my opinion is very similar because it uses Stadium sound and if you set it up correctly with the proper environment it's very similar. It actually utilizes your environment to bounce sounds around giving you almost the same effect. One of my systems is set up in a room that actually has a Dolby Atmos system also. I can turn one on or the other and I actually prefer the Bose. Perfect scenario to maximize your experience. take your sub over and set it right next to your couch touching if possible so it vibrates your couch. Then have the sound bar about 2 ft. in front of a back wall. hopefully sidewalls within 15 ft to the left and right spread the rear speakers as far apart facing slightly up. On the soundtouch app turn the center channel to number 2 and surround the number 10. Once this method is set up rerun the adapt IQ. I find this gives a pretty amazing experience. I also have two other videos on my channel about this system. that might benefit you to check out if you have not already. I want to thank you again for your support!
As for the rear speakers...I am not sure where to finally install them, debating either the Bose floor stands (42 inches from the ground) and or up on the wall. Any suggestions?

Bose is a company that sticks with solid technology usually for 4 to 5 year increments. However that does not mean they might come out with something new. I did speak with a Bose rep and he said that they will stick with this system for the next four to five years. If he actually knew what he was talking about? Then you're looking probably 2020 having said that Dolby Atmos support is literally something that can be added at any time to their current system. Just adding another wireless system to this. Dolby Atmos is great but it is not completely caught on to consumer shopping. It's one of those things it's all about money and rights as you noticed very few Blu-rays even have Dolby Atmos available yet. It's a newer technology that is blowing up slowly.. 4K hasn't even completely caught up yet in my opinion. Once it's get there and proves its market then I'm sure Bose will forced to add it. Bose I assume will either add an upgraded unit And additional device upgrade option. I guess we'll have to wait to see it took Bose quite a while to even add Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to their devices. One thing I know about Bose is they stick with their technology they're still making the Wave radio and that thing still blows your socks off. I guess it's all up in the air at this point.?
