Bose Soundtouch 300 HDMI Problem with One Connect Box.

  • Bose Soundtouch 300 with acoustimass 300 and the Virtually Invisible 300 Wireless Speakers where there is a Problem with the ARC Hdmi where the connection keeps dropping out or not connecting with some Samsung TV`s, also a issue the one connect box if you have one connected whereby certain devices stop the Arc from connecting, for me it was a Kodi Android box, I simply disconnected it and all was fine.

    I did program the remote correctly from the start. It lost it's way after 2 weeks. Your fix did work. Hopefully it lasts. If not at least I know how to fix it now. Thank you.

    My Bose worked fine the last couple of years but suddenly today it stopped working, there is not white or orange light I can’t turn it on and I don’t know why. But what is even more stranger is that the remote works perfectly fine. I tried unplugging everything but nothing happened. Do you have any idea of what’s the issue ? Thank you

      Hi it could be many things, have you updated the software on your Bose ? there has been a fair few updates over the past couple of years, you may of clicked one of the top buttons that has put it in the wrong mode ?

    I have the same issue right after I program the ST300 universal remote control and tried all the above solutions but none work until I did the following and I finally get it work.
    1. Unplug HDMI ARC on both the TV and SoundTouch ends.
    2. Power down (unplug power entirely) for a couple of minutes.
    3. Power on.
    4. Reconnect HDMI ARC when TV and ST300 is on. Give it about a minute.

    I had the same issue.I wasn't getting sound out of my hdmi and decided to program my tv to the remote and it worked.

    My 300 has HDMI issue have to keep unplugging it to make it work and now it does not work ? And have been using a LG UHD tv and just purchased a LG C1 and does not work either.

      Hello, I have found my issue is because I have been plugging in other devices, try removing any additional devices to see if the problems resolve.... all the best of luck...mrix

    Thank you! My Soundtouch had been working fine, but after a power-outage, it stopped working (with ARC.) I programmed the remote (and went into the LG TV settings to reset) and it worked.

    IMPORTANT Update - An additional problem I have found that no end of issues occur when you have certain devices attached to the TV`s One Connect box, if you have any problems try disconnecting a device one at a time from the one connect box, for me it was a android Kodi box causing the issue and it still does if I have it connected, hope this helps, mrix

    Yep, i doesnt work there is a community tread over Bose website talking about this issue they think is for a software update you can always go and connect through optical but we didnt pay $700 to have a faulty sound bar.. been with 2 weeks with mine and im thinking about returning it.

    So I have this same setup but a similar version of the Samsung. For me all I had to do was disable CEC from the TV settings and turn it back on. BOOM. Sound worked again. I also then programmed the remote just to make sure it’s good.

    Honestly been reviewing bose for a few years now and it is a waste of money .. there products are always defective in some form ! And if that is not the case they stop working with in a few months . Witch really sucks considering the price

      For me personally in my situation the main issue was the Samsung TV box, basically what happened was I connected a separate TV box which conflicted with the Bose bar, when you have so many devices you can connect there is no wonder why conflicts in this way can happen, many month later I completely disconnected the separate TV box and I have not had any issues since, its only really other devices that can cause issues.... all the best mrix

    Same problem, I would unplug EVERYTHING & somehow would get ARC to work until the tv or the SoundTouch would update & then not work. Went back to optical, programmed my voice cable controller to operate everything and I’m done with ARC.

      If you have other devices connected please remove them all, I noticed this system tends to have issue with certain other devices connected.

    So does the sound from everything connected to your TV come through your bose? Is that how arc works?

      Hello, on my TV I have the Samsung One Connect box, basically I have a very thin lead which comes from the TV down to the box, and the box is where all the HDMI`s connect instead of trailing up the wall to the TV, I basically plug all my devices into that including my Bose bar and everything regarding sound does then runs through the Bose Bar.

    My only issue with this system is that there is no display to see what your setting is on. If you press the wrong button on the remote you will lose sound and you cant get it back.

      @@tk616026 have you tried updating the Unit ? I must of updated mine at least 5 times since I purchased it two years ago, you might have a update which could fix the issue, also have you programmed the Bose remote ? it may be working but correctly programming it is important, mrix

      i agree. samsung arc is terrible. tried arc for both sony a8f and h6500 samsung tv. no problem with sony arc at all

      If you're still having this issue enable anynet in the expert settings of your tv

    unplug the power plug tv and st300 and plug back in, i got connection right away..

      Stephen Chandra hello yes this would initially work but not the ideal solution having to keep switching the devices off and on etc. My issue has now been totally resolved by simply programming the control hand set.... it works to a point straight out of the box but needs to be programmed correctly...

    I had it for a year, i used to experience that but eventually something goes wrong in the system, this is what happen i connected to bluetooth on my phone and the tried to get it back on tv, it was not possible the soundbar would not react to the controller so took it to best buy and the geek squat had to ship it somewhere to get it restarted, cannot believe this bad quality work from bose, i am very disappointed

    Done a full reset of my tv sound bar still had no sound coming through it was fine once I connected the bose remote it's been fine ever since

      This is the thing, without pairing the remote its very difficult to get HDMI Ark back and linked to the TV, Once the Bose remote is paired its simply the click of a button.

    What kind of HDMI input audio format are you using? And what abot digital output? Have you played with the setting to see what works better?

    Hi nice review & thanks for showing this video,but you payed wait for it£1,700.00 pounds which is a lot of money but it don,t come with Dolby Atmos built into it if I am right in saying.if I was paying that amount of money I would expect Dolby Atmos to be built into it.Still maybe it sounds good enough without it.

    To fix the hdmi arc issue purchase an hdmk splitter. You should only have the hdmi arc cable going to your tv. Not sure with the samsung connect one but works amazing with my setup (cable, envidia shield, xbox and playstation).

    Remove the cordless phone and place it somewhere else which is close to the Tv as it interferes with the wifi connection for some reason.

    How do you get more base from the acoustic speaker and not the sound bar??

      Bob Ramirez On the Bose remote, click the “bass” at the bottom of the remote. Then use the volume control to increase or decrease bass. You’ll see the white light notification on sound bar move to the right for more bass (and of course to the left for less bass). Then to set, click the bass button again. Then you’re good to go. For temporary bass drop, ... for example,late at night when you’re watching the news etc., click the comment bubble icon button next to the bass button.. light will turn green while in that mode. Great option for when you’re not watching epic movies etc.

    i have a samsung 7 series tv like you and the bose bar bt cant get it to work through hdmi, i have i connected and it switches on and off with the tv but no sound, i have to use the optical cable, ill try the remothe thing but you atleast had sound i dont have any without the optical cable

      Have you updated the bose bar? the is an app you can dowload to your Phone which does the update.

      mrix thanks for replying. Yes I've updated it . I'm sure it worked once on HDMI. I'm using the gold/black lead like the one you have plugged in on the far right of the box I wondered if it was that? I've done the turn off unplug and turn on etc thing I read online but nothing. Will try the remote programming tonight.
      Also are the rear speakers worth the money ?

      Hello have you got the one connect box ? If so disconnect any other devices you have connected then switch every thing off at the main power.... I basically only have my Virgin media box connected but I run into problems when I connect more devices, I think there must be some kind of power or conflict issue, mrix

    My parents bought one of these. Had to use hdmi and optical cable to get it to work. Then it shuts off after 2 hours on it's own. Any solutions?

      Have they definitely programed the controller for the bose ?, the thing is the controller partly works without being programmed but it still needs to be programmed to what the manual explains.

      Best of luck and thanks for getting back to me, I have noticed one other problem that happens with this bose bar is that if you have something plugged into the tv one connect that`s not powered up it also causes problem with the Bose connection to the TV, If the controller programming does not work take a look if you have anything plugged in you are not using and see if that helps also....mrix

    Never buying Bose again. It keeps dropping on my new LG C2 tv. It’s just basic HDMI (ARC) connections and they failed to keep connected. Such a disgrace we pay this much for this crap.

      I had the same issue but it was the Kodi android box I had connected which was interfering with the Bose bar, have you got anything similar connected ? just remove anything you can and see if it helps.... best of luck...mrix

      @@mrix I have a Streaming device, playstation and bluray player connected. Unfortunately unplugging and replugging didn’t work for me. I had to connect my sound-bar with optical cable.

      i do that, I even completely turn off all my phones, macbooks or anything with bluetooth and sometimes thats still not enough
