Stunning fish! People have no idea what a healthy wild Atlantic salmon looks like now, all they see are those flabby fatty blunt tailed monsters of battery feedlot nest.
Hi Col, that's a lovely fish. Just thinking back to when we first met, you used to use flies that were usually quite a bit smaller than mine. Looking at recent videos you seem to have become a convert to the Sunray Shadow. I'll have give them a go!
Enjoyed your video Colin , could you tell me if that’s the 20 or 24 inch Gye net you used. Hoping to buy the 20inch version but not sure what’s best. Cheers
Andrew, I was fishing a barbless single so trying to keep as much pressure on as possible. But yeh..your correct, I was more concerned with that line which I'd spliced a few months ago.😂
Well done, must be great to have that caught on video and can be watched back ,,im of an age where all the salmon iv caught over the years are just memories .mind you in my minds eye their always bigger ,,,crackin fish ,i can tell by the lack of verbal reaction from yourself its not the first time youv done that
Belter mate, well done, very jealous. Can I ask what mechanism that is that you're using for releasing your net from your back please? BTW I cant believe 2 morons gave this a thumbs down. Wankers
Thanks, it's a couple of magnetic net holders ..you can buy them on eBay. They can get caught and drop off but I think they are ok and easy accessable . Don't worry about the dislikes ...the likes far outweigh the dislikes.👍
Of all the fishing videos i've watched, from all over the world, i don't think i've seen a nicer fish. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Jeezo! Your on fire Colin. Lovely and great take. Well done. Aye yer fairly promoting your wee river. Keep up the good work. 👏😀

@@Col563 I always give it a swim , what density of line do use when fishing the Sunray
Usually a floater with either a inty or slow sink tip
What a stud .. majestic fish
Nice one again👍

What reel are you using? I'm on the lookout for a reel that winds in quietly but has a nice sound when fish runs. This sounds perfect.
