Turf sucks. With grass, there might have been a little more give when he planted his foot. With turf, your foot is on lock, and the joints get all that energy.
@myrongaines6022 Agreed. Whether crappy turf or grass, with a hit like that, he was done. QBs and Kickers have heart to want that contact, but their bowling ball technique is mostly funny but sometimes serious.
Great video! Really interesting to learn about structures in the knee that you haven’t previously discussed on the channel. On the football side, I feel for Rice and I hope he gets well soon. It’s also the first time I remember a QB seriously injuring his own receiver. This could severely damage this team’s chance for a threepeat.

What’s Mahomes doing diving into someone’s knee with his throwing shoulder? You never lean with your head and throwing should if you are a quarterback making a tackle on an interception. Just try and run the guy out of bounds,or fall down in front of him.

As an addition to Rice’s injury, concussions can be reduced by a notable percentage in my opinion if this style of tackle is not implemented as widely. Unfortunately for Mahomes it injured one of his teammates knee.
100%. He’s not even looking at the man he’s trying to tackle, and just diving in shoulder first. Injury risk aside it also leads to a lot of missed / broken tackles.
