There’s numerous people in that audience who voted for a positive outcome every single time but just like real life, they’re simply not heard amongst the trouble makers. Sad really
The individuals made those decisions. Proof? Many voted with humanity. There’s no excuse for being an asshole. They’re fully accountable for their decisions.
Call it democracy
at 8:15, if you listen for it you can hear some people shouting "no" but they're all overpowered.
Also quite important that the audience already knew Derren and assumed that nothing on TV would have any serious impact, ie he will not be harmed or any have lasting effects.
There was probably an assumption of trust with the showmakers.
they stayed though, they could of walked out. or took their masks off to not be part of the group.
All this happens to me every time I go out.
I didn’t realise Derren Brown was behind it.
🤣
😂
6000's not that much...
too funny !
Our society in a nutshell.
Free Russel brand and Andrew tate😂
Apart from the bit where they were upset when they thought he was hurt...
@@HolaEspanyol oh no why would you say that
And that would be why I've been a misanthrope since I was a kid
Every member of that audience got humbled and then felt like a complete arsehole. Good stuff.
People saying 'This doesn't count or the audience knows' don't seem to get it. This isn't a real experiment, it's all for entertainment, mob mentality has been a thing forever, it needs not be proven. Derren is just shining a light on it in an interesting way. Also worth pointing out that the reactions of the crowd seem very genuine. I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of the audience didn't want this to be released/have themselves censored. Obviously to no avail :D
Probably signed a wavier before they went in
@@HogwartsBasement Waiver 🤓
Notice how, initially, nobody in the audience shouts anything out, and some even look shocked that they have the keys to his home and are going inside without his permission. However, once the prospect that he could potentially be getting *kidnapped* is on the table, they immediately start shouting things out, telling the person in his house where to start snooping etc; it's like the thought process is: "well, we've been given the decision to potentially have him kidnapped, and he's already been arrested for shoplifting, what's a little invasion of privacy at this point?". Their morals are being eroded more and more throughout the show until decisions they seemed apprehensive about mere minutes ago become trivialized.
Even if they may have suspected this was all "fake" (as in, not genuinely happening to someone who didn't know), that still doesn't bode well does it? They had no guarantee of that. Imagine being the absolute savage thicko in the crowd who shouted "SMASH HIS TELLY HAHA". Bit of a psychopath methinks.
Most humanity is trash. I've known this for years with the Stanley Milgram experiment where most people aren't rebels and tell the authority to piss off and will electrocute someone to death if authority tells them. I love these shows cause the people that think they would never do anything are the first ones to do it. I hope the aliens educate the humas because if people think humanity is the last stage of the evolutionary process heaven help the spirit inside us.
With every decision the audience made I was getting more disgusted to the point I wanted to turn it off and give a thumbs down, when he got hit by the car for a moment I was shocked and worried, then I realised the subject must be a stunt man (not that you had a separate stunt man) and that he was in on it all along, nut was on tenterhooks waiting to make sure I was right. I hope the majority of the audience learned a lesson
I still find this shocking. I’d have walked out even if I was the only one. It’s fukcing horrible.
I am with you But I think there will be a twist somewhere ?????
It's crazy how the sense of anonymity can affect someone's morals. We see it all the time from as minor as people making nasty comments and sharing thoughts online that they would never say in person.
After everyone thought he had been hit by the car, their smiles dropped and the masks came off to show their very real concern and feelings of guilt. They could have just given someone the worst and the very last day of their life. I just wanted to point out though, on the topic of morals.. That lady asks why the camera crew are still filming the audience then claims 'It's inappropriate' after having spent the last 50 minutes deciding the fate of a stranger and giving him every negative outcome possible. If that lady had been face to face with the man while deciding his fate, I don't think she would see it so appropriate to smash his TV, to arrange an arrest and kidnapping on him, to rummage through his bedroom drawers..
Anonymity gives people a certain confidence to be and act in ways much scarier than if their identity was known, it's really quite scary. The car accident it's self was not a decision for the audience, but the fact they chose every possible negative outcome really makes me wonder, how far would they have been willing to vote on this mans life? if they were able to remain anonymous and continue voting, when would they eventually cut the guy a break? Or would they at all?
I know people were voting for the good outcomes too, but the fact the bad ones got the majority every time is so upsetting
It’s really depressing. Why are we so vile and horrible? I could cry.
One psychopath at the crowd: "F that was fake??"
Which part?
What horrible people. Mob mentality.
I hope the audience members in the first episode were offered counseling afterwards.
Why ? For being cowardly sadists , getting thrills out of making someone suffer.
I felt so bad from the moment onwards where he got accused for shoplifting. Poor Guy. and what a horrible audience.
Just got added to the list of celebs id want to meet at a dinner party
Snowballing happens in the nice direction too, where we heap love/support onto a stranger, but it has to have some traction. The nasty momentum here was nudged at the start, and then subtly encouraged by seeming the more entertaining choice. “We’re already entertained, going this direction. Put an end to it on a nice note, or keep it going with a hilarious disaster?”
Unpleasant to watch, but a lasting lesson.
The audience looked ashamed. Good.
I wouldnt of been able to take part in that show..
I’d have walked out. It’s insane.
These actors are great.
This a nightmare.
EDIT : oh no it's just mankind.
This shit is why I don't leave the house.... No place like home
You created that audience derren with your influence, knowing before hand what they was going to be like, and bo offense, you looked like you was instigating them to be them votes
Bet they felt shit after that 😂 it’s the kina shock though that society needs to show how horrible we can really be
Old but classic 😂
I can't stop saying, "WHY ARE WE CLAPPING?!" 😂Are we getting in the shoes of the elites? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Douglas Murray wrote a great book entitled: The Madness Of Crowds.
Breaks down diffusion of responsibility to a T
youd have thrown her out the closest window wild west style
great social experiment & shows why voting will never work for the majority
This is what everybody on Facebook is becoming
When??
Horrible episode to watch, as I was voting for a break in his life each time. I've been through crap in life myself, and I always kept on believing in the good of people and patience...
I have learned a valuable lesson today... I will adjust accordingly
Also live audiences are the worst 🤦♂️
Very old footage of the old St Pancras
There's a percentage of people that have no idea wtf is going on, I'd like to think that, without the purpose of any humour situations, they'd make an informed choice. I'd of mentioned decency or common sense, but it seems common sense isn't that common and decency is too cheap.
It’s only a game show snookering you tonight
This could have been much more sneaky if they got a different popular TV show host for this, say Davina McCall or something, and _then_ Derren came out at the end.
Anyone taking part in anything involving Darren Brown will know things are not what they seem on the surface, including the audience. I don't therefore think we can attribute anything the audience did to anything else other than knowing they were taking part in a Darren Brown show. They knew it wasn't real even if they didn't know exactly what was going on, and they probably went along with the "nasty" decisions as they know that is what was meant to happen.
Or these people are just really thick and nasty lol
Any time you see people voting electronically, you know the numbers can be manipulate with ease
@@borstenpinsel what does that have to do with the situation at hand? The crowd obviously wanted bad things to happen to that man and it was obvious. They were like animals rooting for someone to be destroyed. I don’t know what numbers you think we’re being manipulated. Y’all and your conspiracy theories
So is it fake? I thought he show was prided on the fact that it’s real
Guessing their name? Come on. That cant be real
The card was obvious. He indicated the three And did a gesture like he was taking a picture
so am driving this lorry ? contract on the attempt befor i get in terms please
If any of those who voted to smash his TV up get burgled I hope the thieves smash their things up while they are there Just to see if they still think it's funny
You were unable to ruin my life cause you couldn’t take my life
U might of bought him a new tv but u broke his xbox
married to ya african childs pet budgie when it gives birth at my rates could be a very culturaly diverse mix from that batch we swim in 🤣🤣
This bullshit sends out a message your computer history gets deleted 🤣
so where am i then ? being soon his wifes soon mother what am i spec,i,Men she a sailing the surf you her 😂🤣
Not sure this experiment really counts. For one they know its all fake rather than anything really bad happening and its supposed to be entertaining. Snooping around his home was a bit much but other than that he wasn't really arrested, or fired. Of course the show would have to replace anything that was broken and you suggested they smash the TV. I guess we should be thankful you became a TV show entertainer and not a cult leader.
This could push someone over the top and then we would have another J V situation
shes a saucy lady
It's gone too far now it's not funny any more
This is how the Nazi party was so popular in Germany 🇩🇪
Amazing and sad Ty for bringing this all to our consciousness upon mass 🌸🩵🙏
