Sad facts:
Alot of the members(ogs, and the older members who put in work during the 2011 - 2014 war) are dead, most are locked up, others have moved out of oblock or is out making music. Add the fact that oblock may be getting destroyed and rebuilt so alot of those members who are still alive, only place where when they were kids and all the members were alive, making good memories and more will be gone. I was someone who was late to the drill scene and only really started listening to the music about 5-6 years ago, but after hearing about the end coming and seeing everyone who's been locked up or killed who was all pretty much normal and well at the beginning of the last decade to now being gone, it really is sad. A lot of these rappers were on their way to something big such as L'A, Von, Duck, JoJo, etc. You hear their music and just really get hooked to it and wanna know more about it and them as a person--then outta nowhere, you hear they died and it's all because gang violence was following right behind them as they was tryna make it up. I wish I could hear all of them in their peaks and continue to see their journey's but sadly the Chicago drill scene is starting to fade and almost everybody who operated in the early part of the 2010's are nearly all gone now. These sure are weird times we're livin in. I wish it didn't have to be this way and I wish they could all be alive, out of jail, and just no more gang beef. I guess that'd be too easy though and with how cruel the world is, there was just no other way around it. It simply just happened I guess

Well that's kinda the problem in itself. If you get hooked/invested to their music, what they do and who they are because they are slinging and killing and promoting it in the songs then it's no suprise when they die young or go to prison. If they don't do what they do and make music it's much smaller chance to blow up, if they have done it and blow up it's hard to get out of that mentality and life especially since the audience makes a lot of artists beholden to this feeling of keeeping it as it is, if you rap about those things and don't do them or are atleast affiliated and you blow up you come crashing down because you aren't "real". So.. it's kinda shame that people get hooked up on their lives when you promote gang life and continue to do it rather than promoting something else. I love just technical bars so that's my thing and say Benny The Butcher or Ransom are good examples who make street bars but actually say something beneath of just saying having it tough, killing, rapping and slinging and all very surface level. A lot of their verses go into how hard it is to adapt into society after grown like that or caucious tales etc. and there is just witty or deep bars there and it doesn't go into the problem of someone being interesting because of their tragic circumstances that they seem to feel the need to keep up after getting the money to get out. And then they are dead. It seems more drama peeking, like true crime entertainment along with music being there as to be one part of it. It obviously isn't healthy thing to give money into.
