This is the kinda thing you need to do if you want a new game to stand out these days. A very unique art style and presentation. And it helps if it's an IP people will know.
Honestly, all the best fighting games look and sound great. It has always been this way

There is a community that runs a netplay version of GBA2, look up AmmySensei, the game is just as good as you remember

Tech Romancer (Dreamcast) rarely gets mentioned but it's one of the best mech fighters.

Super Robot Wars kinda tried something similar to this back in PS1 called Real Robots Final Attack and
Super Robot Spirits on the N64 in case you are interested.
On to this game, I did play abit of the original mobile game and honestly the designs feels wasted on the that one.
(Idle auto battle kinda RTS-esque gameplay)
i do hope the other original mechs make it here specially Ashura and Goraiga.
I laughed hard when you called the 100 Rocket Punch Barrage sentinel command... because it does look the same
back in the show Shin Mazinger Impact.

Tranzor Z was the American adaptation Mazinger Z

I tried this in the demo and expected Jank but it actually feels really good and has interesting combinations of systems. I highly recommend it!
This game surprised me how fun it was to play. Kaguya definitely has the sauce too.

If this game is an actual full game and not a gacha like another comment mentioned a previous game was, I could see this being fun as shit. I love mecha, I love fighting games, this is perfect for me :P
Iron Saga is a gacha, this fighting game is not, but uses their IP plus some of the collabs they've scored(Mazinger, Getter, Dancouga)

As someone who used to play a lot of tech romancer with her dad, all I can say is; Hell yeah, Mazinger, baby! I'm more hyped on this than GGS season 4.
Hello Justin, i love your videos and i beg you to play Dual Souls The Last Bearer. Its a indie, turkish fighting game that you can play for less than 10 dollars on steam (or even for free on mobile). This game was made with love by a very small team, and they did an icredible work. Dual Souls plays a lot like third strike, the last blade, Guilty Gear and even Mortal Kombat. Here you have ex moves and two types of parrying: one that works exactly like sf3 and other that is kinda like reflectors from Akatsuki Blitzkampf. There is also burst and even yellow roman canceling. They even have fatalities for those who love violence. Also have a insane combo variety that makes you think a bit more than usual but really pays of. Also the plot is simple, but really takes itself serious. You can really see the Turkey influence on its aesthetic, plot and characters (especially with Efe, Nagashapa and André). In the end, Dual Souls its a fun game for everyone and one of the best of the decade, much more worth your money than SF6, Tekken 8 or MK1.

I would love to watch you try ''One must fall : 2097''. It's an old fighting game from the mid 90s with robots. It has a mode called ''tournament mode'' where you paint your robot and customize its attributes.

I actually played Iron Saga back in 2022 because it had a collaboration with Tekkaman Blade (aka that one top-tier character in TvC), my favorite anime of all time. I never played a gacha game until then, and I kept on playing until I unlocked every character from the anime that appeared in it. Unfortunately, I'm not a gacha whale so I never got to fully upgrade all the characters or even obtain Blade and Evil's Blaster forms before the event ended. Ended up playing it for another year thinking they might bring it back, but I stopped playing because I got tired of waiting. And as of the time this comment was made, they still have yet to bring it back.

I'm so curious, this studio MUST have ex Super Robot Wars artists, right? It's not just the SD thing, I've seen other SD mecha in Indy games. It just really captures the vibes if SRWs animations.
Mazinger Z looks so tight. Starting a combo out of his air "fireball"/Rust Hurricane? Fire. The blades popping out when he installs or pops advanced or whatever that is. The little crotch rocket confirm?
Plus giving him Sentinal Drones? They really want to make sure Kouji's a viable character lol
Would love to see an alternate skin for Mazinger Z to change him into the American Tranzor Z. Also when using the Tranzor Z skin have it also use the original English dub for the moves like "Laser Fire!", "Chest Fire", "Missile Fire", "Hurricane Fire", "Rocket Punch", etc. I'm normally never one to ask for an English Dub anything over the original Japanese version, but Tranzor Z is an exception from my childhood.
I like that this game has something similar to MKX Variations but I wish there was some sort of visual indicator on the characters to differentiate between which is being used. I had to just guess which one it was based on the special moves and supers
There is a visual, top left, under the character's face, the little icon, they also have the title of the variant in the pre-match load screen, eg Rocket Punch Mazin is A Thousand Fists while Beam Mazin is Photon Power

Iron Saga finally left the gacha mines with enough dough to make a real game, a legit anime mecha fighting game even, to be exact. With built-in guest characters that people actually want. Happy for that.
BTW, Susanoo is piloted by the gacha game MC. Basically the "shoto" in all but moves.

No, it can't due to the fact that Iron Saga devs stated in their Discord that Bandai outright WANTED their source code in exchange.
This is why they ended up with Cowboy Bebop and GaoGaiGar instead.
