- How to #fix missing CarPlay option in iPhone settings menu. After a lot of digging around I finally found out that CarPlay feature will not work if you don't have Siri enable on your Apple #iPhone first. Once you have this digital personal assistant turned on, CarPlay option will appear in your iPhone settings and you car will recognize #CarPlay ready device when you connect it to the USB port with lightning cable.

This works
Check: Settings>ScreenTime>Content&Privacy Restrictions>Allowed Apps... Carplay should be ENABLED (green).
When done, restart your iPhone.

Dude you’re a legend! Still works in 2022 for ios 15. Sucks how apple make us turn on Siri just to use CarPlay
I believe it's all about CarPlay messaging apps which use text2speech and dictation via Siri.

My comment wouldn’t be different from others that I had searched everywhere about connecting apple car play to my new Hyundai Tucson even went to Hyundai service center they couldn’t solve it and believe me your Tipp helped me a lot I said what’s shown in video and magic got connected immediately. Thanks Mr. Fix !! I was trying to enable carplay in my od iphone x for almost a week with no success. Read articles , went to apple support (not helpful) and landed in this video. Everything now works perfectly !!

Also if you jailbreak the phone, you can install carBridge mod which will allow unsupported apps to be used via CarPlay (for example TH-cam).
This was the only solution that worked for me. Thank you 🙏

I agree, there's not much information about Siri required to be on to have CarPlay.
Make sure u Activate siri because if you dont it will never work .

Finally - That worked for me. Why this procedure would make any sense is beyond me, I thought Apple were supposed to be the 'interface' experts. I didnt want Siri, I just wanted to play some music in a hire car.
I have had this issue but I can’t find anyway to fix it so I really have to say thank you for help me

Thanks a million dollars. This simple issue was driving me crazy. Even I reached out to apple support but they could not help me with this, what a shame to apple. They only think how to empty our pockets like slowing down older iPhones and forcing people to buy newer ones. Anyway, thanks again.

It worked but the problem reappeared as soon as Siri is deactivated. A lot of my family members have the same phone (6s) but they don’t have this problem. And I don’t wanna activate Siri. Thanks anyway for the useful vid !
