I kinda like the trees. Especially when they are together. Imagine marking additional trees and what the might look like as a forest. The railing to the front porch is brilliant.
Enjoyed the outside aesthetic. Very appropriate for this set. Lots of great Easter Eggs/building technics used throughout though my favorite is the printed tile from the Seasonal Pickup being used as a tiled door mat. Also no stickers is a huge plus for me.
Looks amazing, this really falls right in line with Blacksmith too (another great set), not a huge footprint and can easily be displayed in smaller spaces, but packed and dense interior!

Coloradan here, the sand green leaf pieces are something that I've been hoping to release for quite some time. Maybe my proper aspen color palette might actually come to fruition? Awesome review SBS.

I think that despite the trees looking different from the fans original submission, I totally get and understand what Lego did here and to achieve what they have for it to become a main stream set for all.
I think if they had done the three small trees together, and then one larger tree closer to the original ideas proposal instead of doing only the small trees would’ve been a better design choice
I'm a new lego collector and I seem to be drawn to the sets that incorporate nature. If there's trees and or flowers I want it. I just finished the Winnie the Pooh set and I'm currently working on the treehouse set. The medieval blacksmith just came in the mall and the A frame will be joining my collection soon. Really loving the beauty of these sets.
I’m not sure if there’s a Dundie in the Lego Office set, but if there is then the little golden mini figure above the treehouse could be a reference to that set.
What I don’t get is in the og submission, you had a pair of brothers as the minifigures and they had a whole backstory written by the idea designer plus they each had their own bed in the cabin. Now in the official set you have 4 interchangeable minifigures, no real backstory (which is fine make it up as you go along) but the cabin now only has one bed albeit a double rather than the singles the brothers had. In part of the description it describes how the minifigures are all friends singing with a guitar around the campfire….but that doesn’t explain the sleeping arrangements. One double bed, for four of them?
Given the amount of space you get in the actual set, you're never going to get enough bed for everyone, unless you take everything else out and replace them with beds, but that'd make the set boring wouldn't it? That's been a thing with pretty much every house set with multiple minifigs in it
It sucks that the trees in the fan model were so good because it makes everyone complain about the trees, but I think they're actually great and the colours are nice.
I don't know if you just forget or you didn't know it there Is in build hidden flag that Is Easter egg on Fan designer's nationality +that picture above bed(in bedroom ;-D) Is reference on Another of fan designer's build (This Is not advertisment but some of other cool hidden Easter eggs Are in video of same set of Tiago catarino)

This is just so amazing to me. So many creative uses for unexpected pieces. My favorites were the whip chair, hammer stones, and flintlock sink😂

I think you forgot to mention that the à frame picture on the second floor is a reference to another moc that the creator had submitted before
