Here's a question. Let's say you are in the sweet spot when your opponent is dribbling the ball and you keep yourself in the sweet spot by maintaining speed and moving in the same direction of the opponent. From you explanation, this seems like the ideal defense, but if I were the opponent in that situation I feel that I can beat the defender easily. As the person dribbling, I just have to keep driving forward towards net. If the defender keeps staying in the sweet spot, they'll end up in the net first and I can flick it at goal. If they slow down to challenge the ball, then they end up in the outplay zone and I can outplay them. If they turn around to challenge the ball, I can spot that and make a play. So what's the answer for the situations I described?
