Flying with Service Dog // First Time!

- This is the very first time Dallas has flown on a plane! She did so well in my opinion. We ran into many other pets and service dogs during this journey. We are flying to Orlando Florida for a vacation to universal studios and Disney world. So stay tuned so you don’t miss the upcoming vlogs…

My SD and I flew for the first time in July as well! I was so nervous because I thought they were going to give me a hard time because of his weight (he’s for mobility) I had no problems whatsoever and he was amazing on both flights there and the one return. We’re flying in November again and I honestly can’t wait ❤️ So glad Dallas did well!

We were in bulk head seating. So in the south west plane there are 2 rows (one on each side). On each row they seat 3 people. Bulk head is the very beginning on the row so there are no seats in front of u. That’s why we had so much room
Where did you stay in Orlando? It looks nice, lots of space for the pup to run around.
My friends mom had a time share that she let us use. It was called club windham star Island resorts (I think). We got upgraded and they ended up giving us 2 rooms instead of just the one we were supposed to have
If you owner train, what do you put on the flying form where it asks for the trainers information?
I would put owner trained and yourself as the trainer. If u ever did like lessons with a trainer u can put that down also
I have pots and am looking into getting a service dog but have been reading that it’s very hard to find a trainer who can train for pots attack alerts. Is this the same experience you had or would you have any recommendations on how to find a trainer?
Very few dogs can alert to heart rates. I have not met a trainer who trains for cardiac alerts. But it may be possible to train your dog to do it yourself. Maybe u will have luck maybe u won’t but there are other things a dog can do to help with POTS. Like balance assist, syncope response, get help, DPT, leg elevation.

What is the Dot form you were talking about?
Department of transportation form. It’s a new form that is required for service dog handlers to fill out and print out, it must be presented at check in when u are at the air port. If someone doesn’t have it filled out and printed out then their service dog cannot come with them on the plane

I have gotten some conflicting information about the documentation that is needed…. I know about the DOT form that is required. Do we need a doctors note as well? What about vaccination records? Any answers you have is appreciated!! ❤️
Hi, so the only thing you need and they are allowed to ask for is the form and the info in the form. The form does ask about rabies vaccine and has you put the date and expiration of the vaccine.
They cannot ask for any additional info or papers other than the form and what the form requires you to fill out.

While there is no support dog or service certification. By law a business can only ask 2 things 1. Is this your service or support dog 2. What do they do for you. I as a evaluator for AKC I suggest that they explore getting the CGC or Trick dog certification which I have and will test for those for free. Basically you're testing good manners which might deter those who feel the should have your H.P.E.A Info! I to have been denied entry. Some print out the law to hand someone but usually it doesn't have know effect! I live in a large military town. I hate conflict! But the hypocrisy is a cigar shop known as Screaming Eagle "Which is a Division of the Army. They tote being "Veterans for Veterans"? So with the percentage of Servise and Support Dogs going to retired military. I have written a review. With no answer. The next bit is the review I left.

They don’t look like they need a service dog. Everybody abuses everything nowadays. Get a life.
Tell me what do I need to “look like” to “look like” I need a service dog? You have absolutely no idea what someone’s health issues are just by looking at them.
And u are right people abuse the system when it comes to having service dogs but it’s not up to u to determine who looks like the need a service dog and who doesn’t.
U can tell by the way that the dog is trained wether it’s a fake or not. And my dog is a highly trained service dog who preforms many tasks to assist me with my disabilities
