Our high school orchestra went there to play and it was an absolutely mind blowing experience. Another violinist, and a cellist, got to solo as well. One of the best memories of my life. I’m 50 and I remember it like it was yesterday. I should add that I love Perlman’s version too.
This may be my favorite interpretation of the Vocalise. It’s played often, but rarely performed memorably. Daniel Hope doesn’t just spin out beautiful notes , he’s conveying a deep and poignant musical message that cuts to the heart. There’s poetry and passion in this rendition. What are your thoughts about Daniel Hope's interpretation of 'Vocalise'?
Beautiful andvery expressive, his vibrato suits this piece perfectly, I think. Daniel is a great violonist.
Total musical magic. The sorrow reflected in both th composition and the performance cuts to the bone. Very emotional.
The interpretation is good, but that Del Jesu is magnificent!

Once I heard Oistrakh, I was quite satisfied it was as good as I would ever hear.
