“Wouldn’t it be possible to produce something at home that sounded just as good as in the concert hall?” Idling the time away in his Berlin apartment during the cultural and social lockdowns was just as much out of the question for Daniel Hope as spontaneous home concerts with unsatisfactory cell phone sound: After all, according to the violinist, “isn’t classical music all about sound, about really listening?” And so, with the support of the TV broadcaster ARTE, he developed a special concert format and transformed his living room into a high-tech TV studio.
The Hope@Home livestream project was born in a moment: a series of home concerts that were broadcast live on ARTE and on the Deutsche Grammophon TH-cam channel and from which the label is now releasing highlights as an album.

Better interpretation of the piece than the original movie version. This gives it grace.
Not sure it was part of the @ Home series BUT ... Schindler's List Theme. Thank you for restoring my faith in humanity - Daniel and Deutsche Gramophone. Your music keep us sane in this crazy world. Daniel Hope adds a marvelously emotional dimension to virtually any piece that he performs, and the Godfather Waltz is no exception. Does anyone know if he has recorded "Solveig's Song" from Peer Gynt?
I find this version much better.. it has a different vibe.. absolutely perfect
Violin isn't just steel on the wood, its just a part of emotion ;)

I agree - some of what were minor chords are now major here. Not what I’ve been used to, for sure.
