- This is a neat little tractor that continued the IH Offset design on into the 90's . The Farmall A concept started in 1939 and basically did not change other than sheet metal until 1979 with the introduction of the 274 tractor. Hope you enjoy
In either 93 or 94 the ffa state finals for California was held at cal poly san luis obispo . The farm power precision tractor driving was on one of those. Had to drive through a feild of metal pipe layed out like a row of a crop. They were pretty good
I’ve got a 1710 ford, very similar offset. Im trying to find one of these and a deere 900hc to have all three brands
Love these in personal tractor videos the best my self! I learn something new every time:)
It's great grandfather the a or the cub
I'd like to buy that tractor right now!!! John T. Great video. John T
❤ YOUR RIGHT IT'S EVEN MORE RARE IN Mn !!!!!!!😊
It's a radical new design over the old ones, but I'm pretty sure those cultivators are still 90% Super A.
They like the 274 were very close to the 140s cultivators. I think the tool bar would fit but everything else is a little different.
Hey Matt, I remember when these first came in at Clapp Bros. in Siler City! The nicest one, imo., was at Denton this year and I think the president? of the IH Chapter close to Ray owns it. I had the opportuntity to buy it from Joe's Tractor Sales in Thomasville but passed. He had 2 (both original - unrestored) The new owner had it restored and it was immaculate! I have the 274 and I think they're about the same as far as sturdiness, jmo. Their downfall is 3 pt. hitch - no down pressure! Thanks for sharing and they are neat!!! Btw, some had ps and some didn't.
That’s a neat Tractor I’ve seen a few for sale on marketplace
Awesome tractor.
Someone had one at Denton this year in the IH collectors section. Most people kept their old offset Farmalls.
Yeah it's the same one. They were a ok tractors but sales were not that good and they were on the pricey side for the times and people were still using 140s to garden with.
@@farmall51 I remember the salesman at Williams-Trull in Reidsville tried to get me to trade my 140 in on one when I was still raising tobacco.
Yep, a vast number of Super As and 140s still out there running. Unless you are dead set on a diesel, there's really no reason to upgrade to a 274 or 265.
@@m16ty I'm still using Daddy's 1963 140 and will continue to. I spoke with a man at Denton 2-3 years ago who had a 274 and he said he could get parts for a M easier than for the 274.
@@MarkWYoung-ky4uc I've got my Grandad's 1950 Super A, and my uncle's 1942 A, and a 1979 140. Yes, I have too many.
