Alternate facts alert! Bro, Turks did not rebuild Germany after WW2, that's completely inaccurate. The treaty between Germany and Turkey to have guest workers come over for a couple of years (they were supposed to go back home) was made in 1961, 16 years after the end of WWII. Germany was not only rebuild by that time already, Germany was in desperate need of laborers because it was in the middle of the "Wirtschaftswunder" (economic wonder years). But thanks for Döner Kebab, Sucuk and all the other delicious foods. By the way, Germany had a similar treaty with Italy starting 1955. Nowadays most German cities have some Turkish Döner/Dürüm restaurants that are really great. No need to go Berlin just for that. There are also some bad ones, too that usually don't survive long because of the high competition. I also tried it in Turkey and they serve it slightly different there. It's also great nevertheless!

Pro tip: almost every larger german city has a few Döner restaurants which make their own bread and have the same quality as the better stores in Berlin. Just gotta know the spots.
Bestes Essen
You guys don’t even know man in the Netherlands we have this thing called kapsalon. Fries on the fries döner and on the döner molten cheese, then a sauce I usually take “samurai sauce” wich is a spicy version of garlic sauce. To top it of al kinds of salads on it. Please review it.

The Döner kebab in the Netherlands has been here for 2 decades now, straight in from our german neighbour. Damn these things remain really, really good. This is european comfort food at its best! Also, it is THE best way to spend saturday night after a lot of alcohol and partying. Keep that in mind tourists! I also believe among pizza, the döner kebab is one of the most ordered things from delivery restaurants. It counts as a meal! I wonder how much the difference will be, between our versions. I recognise every condiment. But here we also have green pepper slices and feta cheese as condiments, plus we use slightly different sauces: Garlic, Harissa and coctail sauce. You could also order a secret menu (for some) and that is a turkish pizza wrap instead of a 'dürum' wrap if you want to get fat fast.. And for the vegetarians, they also make a falafel version. Only downside of these great food is the price. A decade ago it costed 50 percent less than today, plus they seem to be sparse with condiments lately. Don't know if the same thing is happening in Germany, but then again meat is pretty cheap in Germany...
Only 2 decades? In the UK it's been as long as Germany. Some even think it started in the UK first in 1966. Although the Pita bread version was invented in Germany by Mahmut Aygun,
Hi Andong! I absolutely love how passionate you are about food, and it really comes through in each video. Oh my! My first thought was "They better be eatin at Imren, best Döner in town!" I was not disappointed :) I live on the same street, best neighbours you could possibly have;)
Turkish guy here. I know many people are praising Imren but I would happily and regularly visit Balli. I love dürüm döner, especially like Andong: Extra fries. Would want them to toast the dürüm a little bit more just to get some crispiness on the bread.
The Immigrants didn’t build Germany up after WW2 .It was the Marshallplan from the US and the „Trümmerfrauen“ who did it. The Immigrants mostly Italian and Türkisch came in the 60‘s.
Trümmerfrauen are a myth. My OMI told me this. She lived in Hannover one of the most f.ed up cities in WWII. 90% of all buildungs were ruins. Heavy machinery and mostly men did the work. The rebuilding of the economy was done with the Marshall Plan. The Gastarbeiter put Germany in the dominant economical place it is now. Most of infrastructure, buildings, industry, universities etc etc etc were build by Gastarbeiter. The heavy reliance on heavy-industry jobs is the factor for high unemployment under Gastarbeiter 2nd generation.

Of course linked to your channel and all.
come to turkey and taste classic turkish döner andong. quality of meat and how is cooked is unparalleled. there is also a much much sicker horizontal version called cağ. would be happy to offer some places around turkey if you like. keep up the great work. pleasure to follow you.
Classic Döner kebab is nothing special in Turkey. One should try some good places with Yaprak Döner in lavash bread, go to Bursa for some classical Iskender Kebap or to some Anatolian restaurant with Adana, Urfa or Antep style kebaps. I think you never have tried Berliner Döner, you wouldnt mix it up with what you can eat in İstanbul etc. It's far more better than you would expect.
Nice Video and as I'm in Berlin right now I'll definitely give the Balli-Dürüm-Challenge a try. One thing, though: Who told you, turkish immigrants had anything to do with the reconstruction of Germany after WW2? The reconstruction of Germany took place in the 1950s. Turkish immigration startet in the 60s, officially launched with a treaty between Germany and Turkey (Anwerbeabkommen) in October 1961. The heroes of Germany's reconstruction clearly were the "Trümmerfrauen", hard working Women who cleared up the mess after the war and rebuilt the devastated cities.

Also real döner is served with pilav and lavaş (its like a tortilaa) and not any sauces or veggies because meat used is that special.
Nowadays most German cities have some Turkish Döner/Dürüm restaurants that are really great.
No need to go Berlin just for that.
There are also some bad ones, too that usually don't survive long because of the high competition.
I also tried it in Turkey and they serve it slightly different there. It's also great nevertheless!
wow, they actually have der Gerät.
gotta love it.

Weiter so

Bro thanks for making this video! Great quality! I was in Berlin earlier in this year and I had the Mustafa döner and it was alright but those other ones you recommended looks waaaay better... I gotta try those next time I visit Berlin.

Pro tip: almost every larger german city has a few Döner restaurants which make their own bread and have the same quality as the better stores in Berlin. Just gotta know the spots.
Rüyam, the best I've had so far, although I usually have the veggie version. And the team is among the nicest of all people.

Here in Hamburg we say that there is only one good thing about Berlin and its the Döner!
Haven't been to Rüyam, but that reminded me a lot of Halil's on Hermannstraße! Highly recommended.
Although the Pita bread version was invented in Germany by Mahmut Aygun,
This guy has done his homework. Props to you!
Hi Andong! I absolutely love how passionate you are about food, and it really comes through in each video. Oh my! My first thought was "They better be eatin at Imren, best Döner in town!" I was not disappointed :)
I live on the same street, best neighbours you could possibly have;)
Thats what I thought too! I would have been so mad if they left it out.
This video is the ultimate guide for those in the search for a döner experience.

I am from Berlin and give this list my 💝Seal of approval. Except for Balli because it is not good anymore the meat is oversaltened and the portions begins to shrink more an more.

I took a couple of seconds of this video and featured it in my "Sucuk with eggs" video when I talked about how döner is basically on every corner in big german cities. I hope you don't mind. come to turkey and taste classic turkish döner andong. quality of meat and how is cooked is unparalleled. there is also a much much sicker horizontal version called cağ. would be happy to offer some places around turkey if you like. keep up the great work. pleasure to follow you.
I haven't seen your channel before, but the production quality is way way better than I could have anticipated. 10/10! Subbed and liked.
Good production guys 👍🏻 keep up the good work. Please more, Berlin has much to offer. I really enjoy that munchies style production 👍🏻
