Yep! I have closed relatives that has traveled to Laos and witnessed how lazy the people are in Laos, especially knowing that they can bribed financial support from families in the US. They have a couple acres land behind their house that's theirs but they won't plant anything. They rather buy herbs and veggies from the market. And they DO nothing, but sit around outside of their house and chit chat all day and then complain to my relatives how poor they are. Now, TH-cam just open the doors for Hmong Laos to make heart-wrenching videos to bribe Hmong American to send them money.

Can't blame Hmong-Laos when some Hmong-Mekas have created such fantastic welfare system for them over there in teaching them laziness and bribery.
I have also been there too and witness the mindset of two different close relatives. The one that’s waiting for handouts, they just sit and stare at the sky talking about being poor. The other family, have their own home, car, work jobs and just as successful as we are here. Don’t let their tears of hopelessness get to you. They really need to survive on their own there. It costs less, they can grow their own food, everything is less expensive there. I don’t know how they expect to earn money they just watch movies all day long and don’t lift one finger to provide for themself. If you love them, let them learn to provide for themselves.

Should've cut that cord long time ago. Everyone has to work hard for that $$$$. When you send them $$ like you are their bank, you allow them to live off of you. Give what you can and for things they need but your priority should and will always be your family and children.

I go to laos every year and saw that majority of hmoob Laos are very lazy and not working hard. They depend on hmoob mekas to send money to them. They spent money like they earned and never said thank you when you buy them lunches. They don’t plan any spices around their house. Everything they buy from the market and they don’t have anything at home. Yes there are poor people but if they work hard they will survive
Agree!!! My mom have nieces and nephews in Thailand, they do not work, they depend on my mom and her sister to send them money all the time for every little thing. It's actually my mom and her sister's fault for sending them money though to make them dependent on them. I tell my mom not to but she does it behind our backs all the time but wouldn't give a dime to her own children. I don't know because when she dies I guess they are going to burry her not us. Their meals are ready to eat from the store. Only rich people can afford to eat out. Hmong American does not eat out as much. Maybe 1-2 times a week. Hmong Laos just stay home and gossips. They have so much time.
My mom said the same thing when she visit my uncle and his kids. They don’t plant any greens around their property. Everything is go straight to the market. After her visit, my mom refused to go there now and tells us kids, don’t send anymore $.

My uncle from laos told my dad that he doesn't need money for food since his family is vegan, and they plant a lot of veggies, but they need money for material goods. 🥲 like bro we don't got money like that.

This neej neeg reflects my past experiences. When my husband’s sister and her family still lived in Thailand thakhobaoth (not sure how it spells), we had to send $500 every three months to them regardless. Sometimes They sent hmong clothes to us to sell for them. when we sell people( people receive nyiaj government xwb ces) make monthly payments to us. They constantly call us for money so we have to make up the amount to send for them. They always tell us this and that. 50% people don’t pay we just forget it. There is time we can’t sell their clothes and we still send them money because my husband loves his sister so much. Now they are in the USA. They forgot us. They treated us like strangers. We visited their state they had nothing to offer to their brother (my husband). I often laugh at my husband. I learned People only care about you when they can take advantage of you so this is so true. we allowed them to take advantage of us. I feel bad for this family because i had done this myself.

Ouuu this story really wreak my bones because it’s so true! Why are you working so hard to supply life support to others when your kids, and family is struggling everyday!! Been to Laos and Thailand and their living is like God, while families in America slaves day and night. They choose that lifestyle bc we here freely gives and supply them. vang yang: Ummm...pretty much all Hmong from Laos will have some sort of blood tie over there- close or extended. Just like me- except my elders that remember, I was born and raised here so I do not care so I will not acknowledge anyone over there. Plus, some of us just don't feel like enabling laziness. That kind if enabling won't benefit them or us especially if one day in the future that welfare system is cut by the much newer generations down the line. When this happens, how will all those Hmong-Laos survive if they never were taught and forced to learn survival skills like the generations before them that didn't have a welfare system?

This is why I don’t keep in contact with family or people from back oversea. If I don’t personally know then it owe them anything I don’t need to send them any of my hard earned $$.
They have nothing to do that’s why they only watch movies, but us we work 5-6 days 8-10 hours a day that’s why we have no time to watch movies.
People who want to better they live, no matter where they live they will find ways to work and earn $$ even if it’s just a little.
I think a lot of people who enable these type of lazy people do it for themselves only too. They like the "power" of being able to enable others. It makes them feel good to give others money and "lecture" them on how to be a good person.

I’m a born Hmong American. Honestly, it doesn’t matter what country we live in, there’s lazy relatives everywhere that just want to mooch off. Ppl in Laos, ppl in the US. No differences. I’m not gonna be bias. This is just about Hmong-Laos ppl. I have tons of siblings here in the US that does the same shit. Lazy, don’t cook or clean, they even too lazy to fill out free Government money forms. We all bleed red. Don’t judge Hmongs in laos just because they live in a 3rd world country.
Anyhow, I do have families in Laos that are extremely needy. Too needy. Some do make too much excuses not to work, or find jobs. I can relate to this story. But overall, there’s lazy ppl everywhere.
