@@awordfrompresidentpat1985 the impact a band or a song has can be overwhelming when you see how it affects others, when you get a chance watch greenday concert 2017 at Hyde Park, bohemian rhapsody was being played over speakers and the entire crowd sang along..it was either before greenday took the stage or during an intermission...it's chilling and spectacular

I saw Queen in 1978 in NYC and it's something i will treasure for the rest of my life im 78 years old Queen forever and Beloved Freddie
In England they have a saying about this performance. For 20 minutes another Queen ruled the UK. He held the mic in one hand and the world with another.
I love the Green Day concert where the fans were singing Bohemian Rhapsody while waiting for Green Day to perform. Freddie was smiling down that day!!!
Although there were many legion performers doing live aid...QUEEN stole the show

They are incredible and so legendary it’s ridiculous.
When they went off stage, they met the next act after them, David Bowie. They were good friends and he jokingly said "bastards" because he didn't know how anyone could follow their act.

I am totally into music for over 30 years by now ...I attended to over 1000 live-shows and have a very huge music-collection at home which takes over 2 floors ... I have to confirm: Queen with Fred is the best you can get! There is no equal band out there to even compare with. Queen is king! :-)
I honestly can see what you mean. Because after doing so many different reactions I can see the clear difference in their music compared to others. It's so brilliant how they created their own style and sound that I HAVE NEVER HEARD from anyone else. I also think because all members of Queen are superstars and very talented. I can agree that Queen is the best rock group of all time. In my opinion. :)

36 years ago. With equipment that is considered outdated, live, and no auto tune and they sound better then most do in studio. Freddie is arguably the greatest lead man and vocalist ever, period, argument over. RIP Freddie.

I was in my 20's when Queen was producing these great hits. I never really paid attention to their music other than to hear it on the radio. I have been watching all these videos and enjoying the music even more over the past three weeks. Aren't we lucky to be able to hear and see all these marvelous performances.
So happy that their performances were filmed so that fans can watch them. Maybe not as good as live concert, but still amazing to have.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love was written by Freddie in 10 minutes in the bath of his Munich hotel room in 1979 as a tribute to Elvis. Some people think it was written by Elvis. Notice that Brian changes guitars 3 times. I think this version of We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions is the best. Incredible energy. Freddie had a throat infection but you would never know. If you notice at the end of Champions when Freddie brings his hand down a light on the stage turns red. Queen rehearsed for a few hours every day for a week to get this timed perfectly. If you went past the red light the power turned off! Most of the bands barely rehearsed or didn't rehearse at all. Queen are way too professional for that! This is why Queen are the best live band ever! Sorry about your power. Hope the weather gets better soon. Loved your reaction! That's just what I thought as well. He was covering an Elvis song because he was on point. I have been such a huge music fans since the early 90s and I can not believe I am just discovering all of this about Queen. Shame on me. But, it's kind of a good thing because it's giving me a chance to become a bigger fan.

A true showman with equally talented bandmates. Today with all the computerized stuff it’s just not the same.
How good was Freddie, just watch at 11:18 and on, a stage technician was messing with wires and almost pulled the mic out of Freddies hand, but he was aware and grabbed the cabble so it would not happen, while performing and not missing a beat. At the end of the song you can see him interacting with that technician and lauching it off.
Watch under pressure live at Wembley if u want to see him command a crowd. And if you really want to see him command a crowd watch Green Day concert Bohemian Rhapsody where the whole crowd with an empty stage sings the entire Bohemian Rhapsody song it's absolutely incredible in the skies look like Freddie's looking down conducting everybody

Funny thing is. I've always loved Under Pressure since I was kid. But, I never knew it was Queen. When I realized that it was Queen I lost it. These guys are in a whole different lane to themselves.

God I've watched that so many times now but I didn't see the cloud formation the first time but the 2nd time I did! .....and Wow I mean wow with :::goose bumps:::! So good, so missed, So Freddie!!
And this is how you do it. All live vocals. All live instruments. No autotune and no playback to sing along too. Pure live raw music!!.. you should do a Wembley 86 concert reaction. This is how you did it back in the day... Sounding just like your records singing live if not better. Freddie had a fantastic voice. He could sing any genre. From 20s to 90s. Blues, Jazz, rock n roll, rock metal and Freddie did Opera too. Queen never stuck to one genre unlike most bands have their one style and genre. This is why they stood out.
72,0000 people at Wembley, another 100,000 in Philadelphia, and 1,2 billion watching on TV globally. The Olympics have 3 satellites...Live Aid had 13. I wasn't a Queen fan at all, but after that day..I was lol! The world for Africa!
I remember it was very hot that day in Wembley Stadium July 13th 1985 but it was worth it, best day in my life! 👏👏🇳🇱
The crowd bought their tickets for Live Aid before Queen agreed to perform so 72.000 people at Wembley weren't necessary 👑 fans, but 100% they became after those historical 20 minutes. It was said that for those 20 minutes different 👑 ruled England. ❤
Already clicked the “Like” button!! Queen practiced for a couple weeks getting their 20 min set perfect. They brought in giant white clocks to be sure the timing was on point! Queen took this charity event very seriously while other artists not so much. Queen was added to the artist list late so many of the crowd didn’t even know they were performing!! Queen’s 20 min set was perfection including the song list, songs were from the top ten billboard list, each song was written by one of the members of Queen, and Freddie was never happier! Roger said it was truly Freddie’s day to shine!! All the artists including the “who’s who” of music knew Queen had stolen the show!! The rumor is that David Bowie had to follow Queen & when they were done he said “You bastards” (endearingly, of course). Psssst - Freddie bends over so his bum is towards the audience as a big “kiss my arse” to Queen’s former money grabbing managers!! Hahaha!! Every time I watch this I get the goosebumps!! It was fun watching the expressions on your face! Freddie wrote CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE in honor of Elvis!! 🥰💕

What a day. My oldest child was born that morning and I watched all day and evening.
Freddie Mercury is hands down the best front man of all bands. Queen is seriously amazing. I get emotional when I watch Freddie. Especially this concert bc he just found out he had AIDS right before this concert so it's extra emotional for me. Rest in Peace Freddie
No, he did NOT know he had AIDS during this performance. He was HIV positive and didn't know. The movie changed ALOT of things. Freddie wasn't diagnosed with HIV til late 1986, and wasn't diagnosed with AIDS til Spring of 1987.
To sing and run a stage like that is talent. There was no auto tune this was all him and his stamina. God Rest his soul. Radio gaga is a Frickin classic.
Freddies stage presence is enormous and infectious backed up by the amazing musicianship of the other members of Queen.
Whoee! Everytime I see this I feel like it's a command performance....someone summons him to get back on that keyboard, strut and command that stage one more time -- for the ages.

After Live Aid, QUEEN toured with Freddie all through Europe in 1986. It was called the Magic Tour - a grueling tour consisting of about 26 shows in France, Spain, Netherlands, Ireland, West Germany (at the time, Germany was still divided in 2 by the Berlin Wall), Belgium, Hungary (which was under Communist control at the time), and other countries as well. Most of the time, the band played more than one show in each country. The tour ended in the UK with two shows at Wembley which were totally sold out and one concert outdoors at Knebworth where I read that 150,000 people attended. There are videos on youtube of the full concert in Budapest, Hungary and the 2 concerts at Wembley. They are great concerts!

He was asked in an interview what instrument he played. His answer : “the audience, darling!” And he sure did. Another fun fact, Freddie had been struggling with terrible vocal strain during this time and yet he killed it, like always. As always your reactions are awesome. The joy is infectious.

He had a throat condition I think it was nodules or something like that and his doctor told him not to sing or perform but he did it anyway and it resulted in the most iconic concert and he blew everyone out of the water I just watched documentary or interview rather where the guy said that after this performance they all rated all the other bands off of Queen performance , it was a super hot day and everybody was getting restless and tired and hot and once queen came on it completely changed the entire Stadium atmosphere....and NEVER apologize for reacting to Queen. Its in all us Queenies . Try stone cold crazy for a differnt level or when he did opera try his barcelona amazzzziiinnnngggg

Loving your insightful reactions, President Pat. Yes, Freddie wrote Crazy Little Thing Called Love as a tribute to Elvis. He also wrote a tribute to John Lennon after he was killed. Freddie used many kinds of tones and vocal styles - listen to My Melancholy Blues, I Want It All, Cool Cat - each a totally different style. When you rewatch this, pay attention to the crowd. This 20 minutes was an amazing feat of capturing the audience so quickly, getting them involved and active - doing the Radio Gaga Clap, the call and response, taking over a few lines of Crazy Little Thing on their own, etc - that by We Are the Champions they were like a swaying sea of humanity, 70k+ people who had already been at the concert for many hours hearing dozens of singers and bands. It's really incredible.
I've also read that during Queen's set, the live audience attending the American Live Aid counterpart in Philadelphia ALSO followed along to all of Freddie's prompts with the sing-and-call back, the Radio GaGa clapping etc!

That song for Elvis caught me completely off guard but, was so fulfilling. :) I never knew how freaking amazingly talented he was behind the scene. I love his voice. I really had a hard time trying to pay attention to his vocals, the song, the band and the production all at once for the first time. LOL. But, they are brilliant musicians.
I did catch some of the crowds reactions. To be honest, I thought the concert was only for Queen until I read the comments from you guys. They seems like they were Queen's fans. LOL.
I plan on catching up to as many Queen songs, albums and more concerts soon.
It's been so worth it.
It wasn't just the 75K there. The crowd at Philadelphia and all of us watching at any TV that was on were doing the same. People in stores were stopping and caught up in Freddie's grip. This was more than a monumental concert. It was a monumental piece of history for everyone, in my generation anyways.
I know that's what everyone is saying about Freddie writing Crazy Little Thing Called Love but I watched Elvis Presley sing that song on a black and white TV. Elvis Presley sang it in the 60's don't know why people are saying otherwise. Some say it's an impersonator but there weren't any Elvis impersonators in the 60's because there was no need to, he was still alive and young.

If you're going to continue to watch this phenomenal group I would suggest you wear headphones. Great reaction, always brings me back to my younger years. This is one of the ultimate shows seen by billions that day. Even 5k miles away we were doing the Radio GaGa hand clap to a television. Now that's crowd control!
I've mentioned this in several reaction videos, but it bears repeating......go back and watch them perform We Are The Champions and watch the crowd get lighter and darker at several moments.....that is an actual wave of sound from the band blowing over the crowd causing that effect...very impressive
Freddie had a throat infection he went against Dr's orders to be there he said his throat felt like he was gargling with crushed glass while singing and he still crushed it they are epic I cry every time I hear him sing

Can you imagine being the band that followed Queen!!!!! He comes alive on stage. I miss him man. Brings me back to a time that was amazing in my life. Before my brother was killed in a car train accident he was a huge Queen fan. Thamk you for this video. I got emotional at We are the champions.
Elton John followed them on stage. He was not ready to take the stage after their performance. He did agreat job but nothing could top this performance.

Someone once commented that Freddie held the microphone in one hand and the audience in the other. No truer words were ever spoken! The size of that audience with everyone excited and participating was mind boggling! Queen was always on point whether in the studio or on stage. There's a video on youtube which shows their practice sessions for this concert - how they honed each of their songs perfectly to fit into 20 minute time slot allotted to each band. The result was MAGIC!! And, yes, the song "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" was Queen's tribute to Elvis. I read somewhere that Freddie wrote this song in about 10 minutes while taking a bath. I don't know if that's true. But it would not surprise me if Freddie had new music twirling through his brain every minute of every day! I wish I could have been at Wembley on that day but consider myself so fortunate to have seen them LIVE at other concerts in the 80s. That was a long time ago but it feels like yesterday! OK, technically this isn't a "full concert", just 18 minutes from a massive 16 hour show - I was there and it was amazing. If you want to watch/listen to a "full" concert try the Odeon '75 or Milton Keynes the Bowl '82 or for late Queen Wembley '86. Great reaction in trying circumstances!

Wonderful reaction! The entire Wembley concert in 1986 is the most amazing concert ever! You would have to cut it into 4 or 5 parts but it will be worth it! Top of their game!
little fact: When he blew a kiss during Radio Ga Ga that was for his Mom. His family stayed home due to sercurity reason and watched it on the TV . Such a Good Son. Now you understand why they stole the show.

The Live Aid concert was, I think, about 16 hours straight of music, but every artist/band only had 20 minutes to perform.

That was a tribute to Elvis. This band and Freddie.....are the best ever on earth! Freddie are not just a ordinary human, he must be from another earth.....I have been Queen-fan since -77. At the time of Live Aid I was serving in the British Royal Marine Commandos in a refugee camp in Ethiopia. We listened to it on the radio. We were surrounded by the full horror of the Famine, but when Queen came on the radio those poor soles who were there even reacted in a very positive way. I remember that a lot of us Royal Marine Commandos were crying watching some of the children dancing along, I'm teary eyed just remembering. I looked around at men I had fought alongside, who were tough, hardened Royal Marine Commandos who had fought a life and death war against Argentinian's in 82. By the end of Queen's set we were dancing with the children. It went along way to help build their trust in us. The famine is only one of many terrible memories I have from 34 years of active service, and 2 years hospitalisation. But when I remember the smiles on the children's faces, and their laughter at the terrible way we danced always reminds me that humanity will always find it's way through even the worst of times. I only watched it for the first time last year, my son put it on the TV. A lot of memories came back and a lot of tears.
My amazing Wife took me to see Queen at Wembley, U.K., in 1986 two weeks after I got back from Ethiopia as a surprise. I saw Queen live 6 times in all, they were incredible live. And yes, I am an old fart.
Best live show ever! Crazy Little Thing Called Love is Freddie's tribute to Elvis who he admired. Freddie wrote that song in 10 minutes while taking a bath. A little aside: Brian played 3 different guitars during this song.

Greatest band of all time
My oldest son was born in 1985. I was active duty U.S. Navy and watched bits and pieces of the concert from stateside. However, I raised both my boys to appreciate rock classics... like Queen! Now, I'll be driving and Bohemian Rhapsody comes on the radio and, if my sons are with me, we all ALL singing alone and bopping our heads! Truthfully, I do that when I'm alone in the car too. I get some funny looks from people seeing an old lady rocking out in her car! LOL
I was at the concert in Philly. I had just graduated from high school a few days earlier. We were mesmerized by this performance. But we had no idea how history would remember it.

I know this video reaction was 2 weeks ago but I just have to say its so amazing that you are not even the first reactor I've seen watching Queen say they had forgotten they were fiming. It happens when you watch and listen to Freddie Mercury. He just takes you into another zone . He's truly one of a kind.
Freddie and Queen resonates deeply with me. We were from the same generation. Queen spoke the truth. The passion in their songs- one reason we love them so much! And have tremendous respect for their live performances and heart and love their fans received from each performance! I’ve been a fan since 1974! I listen to them everyday. Great performance! Glad to see the new generations discovering what we had. The talent on this stage was unreal. Every single one wrote hits, all educated, all at the top. They weren't even scheduled originally but prepared meticulously and blew them out of the water. Can understand Elton John saying "you bastards" when he had to foll8w.Your reactions are lovely, btw.
