The only difference between Australia flag & new Zealand flag, is the number of the stars.
@@rachelcookie321 the union jack is literally present on a lot of countries, but is roughly 1/5 of the flag size. Bermuda, Fiji, Tuvalu, Cook Islands, Falkland’s islands, Hawaii flags and many more have it
@@damianchua4647 I know. I am just saying it’s kinda understandable they would get mistaken when the flag of one country is literally on it. You said they are not similar but they still are similar. Not as similar as the nz flag to the Australian flag but the nz flag and the uk flag are still similar. I would never mistake them but you can’t pretend they hold zero similarities. They are the same colours and the nz flag literally has the uk flag on it.

This is so painful to watch for me as someone who likes flags. These are so easy! How do they not know?
Legit! The first one kind of caught me off guard. Cause Australia and NZ are very similar, just a few minor differences. But for Bulgaria I said Hungary cause of the colorway-_-. And then for Bosnia I couldn't remember the last name. And + I'm pretty sure we don't learn flags in our schools.

Singapore used to have several kinds of Union Jack blue ensign flag as a crown colony of the UK.
It was one of the British Strait Settlements (together with Penang, Malacca, Labuan, Christmas Islands and Cocos Islands) 1874-1946
After the dissolution of the British Strait Settlements, it becomes solely a British Crown Colony under its own flag (1946-1959) before it created the current one in 1959 and then joining Malaysian Federation in 1963

Oh, and may I know in Singaporean school, is there an extra education about ASEAN stuff? Like when ASEAN Summit is happening there's ASEAN week or program, where the teachers will make activities about Asean countries or decorate school/class with ASEAN imagery? In Malaysia and Indonesia there is. Asking because not knowing The PH flag is kinda weird.
No we do not. There is ironically much less coverage about Southeast Asia than other regions of the world in the current school syllabus.
We do not even care much about the Southeast Asian Games here, let alone the ASEAN summit.
And many Singaporeans travel more outside of Southeast Asia than within it.

While that was hard to watch as a vexillophile, I don't think these people are stupid, they are simply unaware of the world beyond their daily lives. And it's not a Singaporean thing, most people are lacking in general knowledge, which is a shame because a key benefit for being well-informed is that it's incredibly useful for being a good conversationalist, especially when you're speaking to people from different cultures be it at work, at a dinner party etc. Learning doesn't have to be boring too, there's so many edutainment channels on TH-cam alone. GeographyNow is one I would recommend that's palatable for a general audience. Excelsior my friends!

I would of gotten Bosnia and Herzegovina but not Bulgaria lol. Bosnia and Herzegovina got a unique country name and their flag is also unique so it’s easy to remember. The only similar flag is Kosovo but Kosovo has the shape of their country on the flag. Bulgaria is harder because 3 coloured stripes is a very common flag in Europe. There aren’t many countries with green though so maybe that would of made it easier. I will remember it from now on because of the green.
Exactly. The difficulty is actually not obscure flags or countries, but those flags which look too similar. I actually find it more difficult to differentiate Australia and NZL's flags than identifying the Bosnian one.

As someone living in Southeast Asia I can answer all the flags correctly except for the last one. Bosnia and Herzegovina? Is that even a legit country? Lol.

Test Singaporeans on countries National Anthem?
I feel like most people in the world only know their own country’s national anthem. I only know the national anthem of the countries I’ve lived in because I had to sing them, I don’t know any other country’s national anthem. I think if they did a video on national anthems it would not go very good because everyone would just be saying they don’t know.
