Some theory said if Taki wrote his name on mitsuha’s hand, all she’ll remember is a strange name written on her hand due to the "rule" which keeps the time correctly. But if Taki wrote "I love you", she'll remember the strong emotion between her and the person who wrote the words down, even if she didn't know who he was.

He might have written his name on there too but may have been erased due to the "rules" of musubi of needing to leave something important as offering in the shrine before exiting which may couldve been their "other half" which could mean Mitsuha's other half is Taki and vice versa. In result they lost memories of each others "half"
Because the god of time erases their memories since its a gap between time but the love and connection is protected by the love god. From a theory also.
I know some people have already said it, but the reason Taki and Mitsuha forgot each other’s names is because in order for Taki to enter the underworld and alter the timelines, he had to sacrifice the thing most precious to him, which was his memories of Mitsuha. But in Japanese folklore, the moon god protects messages of love, and it transcends the rules on time, so by writing “I love you” instead of his name, Taki ensured that he and Mitsuha would always remember the feelings they had for each other, even if they didn’t know who that person actually was anymore. This gave them the chance to find each other again, driven purely by that love. I love this movie. It’s my favorite movie of all time and it’s not even close. But I also hate it for how empty it makes me feel after I watch it, simply because it tells a story that I wish I could have for myself, but I know I never will

An incredible movie. One of my favorite anime movies. Not only did you see Tessie and Sayoko, but Mitsuha's sister in in Tokyo as well in the montage when they were getting ready for work. She was in a class room and looks up. I've seen Shinkai's films after this one but this one is still the best. The body swap was fun but the twist that they were 3 years apart was genius and surprising.

She, her mum, grandma are the representative of god at Shinto shrine, and after she did some magical ceremony, GOD will hear her wish and make it came true, actually, she is not only "replace" body, it is a kind of time travelling to future tokyo handsome boy body

Along with the Kimono or Yukata I forgot the name of the socks, my grandmother probably be very disappointed in me right now lol And the Geta slippers, a little silk bagetoy can keep in your sleeve, and a fan...but I also sneek and hide my tanto blade.😊 The Ceremony Mitsuha did She is A Miko a Shintao Temple priestess you can tell by the white top and the red Hakama. They help keep the temple clean and also help defen from any attacker back in the feudalism times. But they tend to use Naginatas.

I've watched it three times (reaction videos not included) and play the soundtrack all the time. It's really amazing how the artists made this wonderful visual and audio combination.
The "pub" they are referring to is not a place just to drink but the one where a lady makes the booze and you get to talk to them, not a brothel but you know, not exactly something a high school girl would find classy. Also there are several ways of saying "I" in Japanese different by gender age or class, you can tell a lot about the person, or at least what they are trying to portray by their first tense.
I like how Mitsuha's ribbon is red, which is likely a reference to the red thread of fate in Japanese and Chinese mythology, foreshadowing that they're destined lovers that transcend time and space.
