  • Born and raised in the Australian country town of Ballarat, Victoria, Georgia Amoore took the basketball world by storm in early 2023, leading her college side Virginia Tech Hokies to the iconic NCAA Final Four for the first time in history. Along the way the Hokies side broke records, and Georgia broke some individual ones as well.
In this interview, Georgia and I chat about everything from her favourite Aussie food that she can’t get in Virginia, going from a small town to becoming a household name, the rise of women’s sport, proving doubters wrong and a lot more!

The young lady who's interviewing is going really far in life. I couldn't interview anyone, let alone a college superstar when I was her age!

This is an astonishing good interview, first I thought it was a young Georgia through some sort of CGI magic. (I had no idea what I was clicking on) As mentioned, an amazing interviewer and likewise Georgia is someone who listens to the question and answers it carefully and comfortably. Both are going far in this world. Hokie here.

Fantastic interview. Better than so many others I've watched in the US. Hokie Nation has developed a strong affinity for Australia because of Georgia and we look forward to a lot more Aussie Hokies in the future. Go Georgia and Her Way!

Very very good podcast! Great questions and great rapport with Georgia, although I think it would be hard NOT getting along with her. Also I have no idea how old you are but you seem really poised, in control, but also really real. Kudos!!! Wish you were American so I could see more interviews with my fav players🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Now Georgia Amoore. Huge love for this girl HUGE. I root for UConn but outside of my crew, Georgia is my favorite player in the NCAA. Her game is incredible and she is bold - but not in a cocky way. She always plays like she’s been there and that tells me she trusts her training. She’s a natural leader and it amazes me that she’s so awesome. Given what she’s done and her growth over the last 2seasons, I believe this season will be epic. I first heard her talk in an Instagram reel where she was trying different food with her teammates from different countries. It was funny and cute and I immediately loved her.
Best of luck and everything to you both❤

I saw the Tenn. game at a sports bar. I don't get into sports, but Georgia and Liz's chemistry make it interesting and fun to watch. I love Georgia's laid back, grounded attitude, unlike Caitlin Clark, who seems to be more of a media hound. Georgia interviews extremely well and will have a career speaking or as a commentator when her performing days are finally over, which I hope is a long way off. She is drawing interest in women's B-ball as are the Hokies women's team with their Cinderella year.
How about a charity Georgia v. Liz one on one? Georgia v. Raven in a comedy competition like blindfolded shooting baskets.
Good luck this year and keep that infectious smile Georgia. Very pretty girl who's just a delight to hear and watch excel on the court.
This young lady is an amazing interviewer. Well planned out sequence and questions. Great poise on camera and on the mike. You will go far missy.
Good luck to the Ballarat Bomber!

I kinda think we will see Georgia as an NCAA WB coach after she retires from the WNBA. She does a good job planning strategy with Brooks on the sideline during every dead ball.

@@2gnospamI agree!!! I think she’s going to be a phenomenal coach down the road after she retires from the WNBA!!
