In Genesis Part 2, I mostly use the federation armor fist punch attack on the blue crystals to harvest the most whole elements because you usually get a good amount, it’d say about 3-10 pieces of whole element
The bosses really need to do more than just drop element, obviously you need to fight them to unlock the tekgrams they give you, but at this point farming them just seems pointless if you have access to other maps where element literally grows on trees. I would love to see the bosses drop tek blueprints of the engrams they give you, as well as some high end gear for your troubles, if you had a chance at getting a blueprint for a tek mosa saddle with 100+ armor when you fought the alpha broodmother then you'd really have a reason to go after the bosses
gen 2 is supposed to be make elements like the mid game teir because obviously you are literally on a gigantic weird donut ship with 2 rings and 1 gap biomes and it spins with artificial gravity what else u expect lmfao
The best way to farm element is a hostile take over of the server, force a tax on everyone of 5 element per ingame day, failure to comply you get wiped.
I flat tax doesn’t do you much good. Beach bobs will waste your time as they can never pay and they’re the most numerous tribe. Large tribes will easily pay the small amount and is now promised to not get wiped as they build to wipe you.
As has probubly been said, you get an absolute metric ton of element using a tek strider with mining drill on gen2 when the blue crystal meteors are up, literally hundreds of element, tens to hundreds of thousands of shards.
On Gen2 Get aTek Strider with the Excavation Rig and the Saddle Bags, farm element for an entire in-game day on the space islands that contain element. Here’s some tips for it: 1. Have a tek teleporter on the bridge so you can easily go over there with the strider on vanilla (with mods you CAN cryo them) 2. (If you own one) link element shards to a Tek Dedicated storage system. You’ll get a lot of them so I recommend linking the shards, not the normal element so you don’t run out of inventory space. 3. Get the mission buffs. So the resource health, spawn frequency and the better tier space biome buff. These will help you a lot. 4. Carry the best weapons (and maybe even a spare set or 2 of armor, since VoidWyrms delete armor dura fast), in the event that said VoidWyrms or Astrodelphis show up.

I’ve watched all your survival guide videos up till this in a row so I figured you deserve a subscribe and notification for the info you’ve given me :)
It should be noted that not only can you gather shards from blue crystal asteroids on Genesis 2, but you can get blue dust pile asteroids that yield dust to picking by hand or with a whip. While not as fast as shard asteroids, it's there if you don't yet have a Replicator, or are just getting unlucky with the ship cycles.
Gen 2 blue crystals on meteors during purple drops: bring a magmasaur that's leveled up in carrying capacity. You'll toss stone out throughout the process, but you'll be able to fill up the magmasaur to max carrying capacity at least once and possibly twice in a single Ark day. On 1x Official, you'll come out with more whole Element than you would after a boss fight anywhere else, plus easily 40,000+ shards. On 2x and 3x event days, the whole element is insane. It's so efficient, that you'll dump every other method. It's easier to convert these gains to dust and back to element at a substantial loss to jump servers than it is to farm natively in most places.

As the ship travels, it makes different stops each game day, resulting in one of eight different types of meteors in the median space. The types of meteors coincide with the colors of the supply drops; when purple supply drops appear, the meteors in the space gap are covered in crystals that yield element shards. Hitting these crystals with a magmasaur will also yield full element. In 30 minutes of real time, you can get more element than you could with three alpha level boss fights on most maps.

I know this was made before Fjordur but just farm Beyla. 30 element per hour. Also lots of the red crystal in easy artifact of the immune cave as well as magamasaur cave.
I’m surprised you didn’t say this but you can get dust fairly easily on every map by taming a few tek dinos (Parasaurs and Raptors are the best for this) and killing the babies with a chainsaw or to make it auto have a enclosed area with a few ACs and a dino that can harvest meat on aggressive
The automatic method doesn't work anymore because the babies when hit end up just dissapearing. Not only do I have this problem when I tried it out, I've read many other comments of people who are having the same issue and haven't found a solution to it yet.
Yeah the auto farm method doesn’t work anymore. You have to let babies grow to at least juvenile stage in order for them to yield element. Best way I’ve found is to just let them mature fully (on boosted servers…) and then kill them. It’s more time consuming but with a good chainsaw you’re getting a lot more. It’s practically impossible to justify the time investment on official or lower rates tho.
@@mysticzero2314 could never use dinos to kill them in pve. If you melee them (pike, club, cryo pod) they will dissapear. When shot with ranged (crossbow, dubbel barrel, pump action shotgun) Theyll fall ready for harvest
So THATS what I was defending! I really destroyed those element nodes whilst doing the mission. I didn't know what I was doing, and the hordes just KEPT. ON. COMING.

@pterafeir By the way you can also find element ore in the bottom of the oceans on crystal isles I found it I think over by the snow biomes. It was down in some water tunnels that go underneath the snow biome. If I remember I’ll try to get the cords.
You forgot 3 things 1 is that you can craft element in crystal isles the same way as in aberration you can find element ore in the honey cave underwater. 2 is that if you want to farm more ELEMENT the best way is by punching them for SHARDS is stryder even a lvl 20 one can do a great job. And 3 pickaxe is better for farming shards in crystal isles with mantis even better
Best way is the last method and using a Stryder with a mining drill you can tell if it has a mining drill if it has to triangle shaped things on its chin
What about killing tek dino . U can make a tek para farm by breeding them and using a therizino to kill the baby and make a element dust farm. But in the island it is still hard to get tek dinos . But it is a good way
It is only decent if breeding rates are up. Still takes a while to get one element out of the farm. That being said I think the overall most useful thing the farm gives me is a slow stockpile of electronics.
@Tanner Austin Its ok, but the shear amount of metal I can get from a quick trip with my Argy and Anky just overshadows the farm. Still nice to have don't get me wrong. My breeding intervals have the parasaurs breeding about every 5 hours so it is somewhat balanced for my single player world. In the end the amount of electronics I get is self-sustaining where I don't have craft any. The rest is a bit more supplemental. I still need to make oil and metal runs. It is more ideal to have an dust gacha.
Stryder has to be the best way to farm element as with the harvester and bags attachment it can hit multiple nodes at a time. The bags are really helpful as it reduces the weight of everything in its inventory. To be honest, the stryder doesn't even gave to be a good level, as they already have pretty damn good stats.
if you do the last alpha mission you’ll get 32k hex and can buy element and turn that element into element dust (200 per element) and can just travel servers with dust
I built a tek parasaur ranch and slaughterhouse to get metal on Island map before I got an argy. Currently have 1.7M Element dust, insane amount of electronics and a mostly metal base. Plus tek dinos also give you oil. If you kill the babies you get prime meat too. "Don't go up there to that house on the cliff, kids... that lady chainsaws helpless young parasaurs. On a clear night you can hear her laughing over their screams "

It's crazy the overabundance of element in extinction, the dust transference method just takes too damn long tho, running, I'd say killing the alpha dragon on the island is actually the best method
During this summer event, I use a magmasaur and get 48 Hard Element on most rocks. I collected about 6,000 hard Element on three asteroid rocks alone. I have so much Element I don't know what to do with it all.
You can also do the method of tek dinos, they give element dust, electronics, scrap metal, and oil (note that you need to breed two tek dinos for a tek baby). This can work on (I believe) any map.
when a new server opens, like lost island, I tame tek parasaurs and breed them, keeping only females and 1 male. I kill any other male and gather the dust with high melee mantis+pick. once you get 1 cryofridge of females you get 1k element dust per day at 1x, at the time you are ready for a boss fight you will have already half of what you need for tek rep.
Hey Pterafier, big fan of your channel. I just want to say that the element shard to element method doesn't work for console players (like myself). To make element you have to use 100 Polymer and 1000 Metal

Fjiordour map has the fire wyvern trench and a cave at the end of it. Element shards can be mined near the magmasaurs at the bottom

You can also occasionally get element dust from harvesting Tek Dinos. Ergo instead of taming them,harvest them.

Could you explain more? Im not new but nowhere near endgam i have a magma and gen 2 but how do i go to meteors?

I recall the meat plants on Gen2 producing shards when I harvested them. Not sure if this changed, as I haven't been back there forna while
On gen 2 you can mine the Venus fly trap plants for shards and pearls with an axe also works with a wyvern

Farming in Gen 2 Map is extrem. U got about more than 300 Elements and 800x100 Element Shards. After this u can deal with some other Players ... ;-)
