There are 2 ways that work. First is 12v DC for around the layout using N20 geared motors, my video before Xmas shows the circuit. The other way is for onboard a train using a TCS FL4 function lighting decoder or any light function on a decoder. This I made a simple circuit using a LM317LZ voltage regulator, a diode and a resistor and the planetary geared pencil motors (1/4" dia). These work my swinging bells on locos and figures onboard trains.

G'Day Sam, The figures are O scale (1:48), I have done HO scale figures many years back on my old HOn3 layout - same principals.
