It was actually a tradition to hang Christmas trees from the ceiling because there was too little space in the houses. It's not inherently dangerous if you do it safely. I think it looks great if the tree is upside down as they used to be and it's just one, not multiple.
I’ve been thinking of doing it because I miss my ornaments. We got two kittens in 2020; they grew up to be 20-lb monsters that chew anything resembling plants, so I stopped putting up a tree. I’ve been thinking about hanging just the top of the tree from a sturdy plant hook in the living room so I can display at least some of our ornaments.
In 1969, my mother hung real candy on the tree. She strung it on fishing line and it looked really pretty. My parents went out for the evening and they got a babysitter for me and my older sister. The babysitter fell asleep. When my parents got home, my sister and I were not feeling well and as far as my sister could reach, the candy was missing. We never had that babysitter again and my mother never put candy on the tree again.

CANDY CANE WATER FLAVORING FOR CHRISTMAS. and when it’s not christmas, she just adds a small amount of water flavouring! you do NOT need to add all that stuff to ice cubes. no matter if your eating it or using it for your drink, Mind you, my mom has been using the SAME EXACT ICE TRAY FOR 8 YEARS. you DO NOT need that many ice trays.
@Ch1y0U5Channel 🤗❤️ you're so welcome! I hope it helps. I was told that when I couldn't get enough ice. And whaddya know, my iron was very low. Blessings!
Recently learned that like the natural kind processed peanut butter should be refrigerated because of the oils. But the general public are such fiends for the stuff that we tend to go through it so quickly that the oils doesn't get a chance to really separate or go rancid. So we don't really need to keep it cold. If someone has to refrigerate their pb because it tends to go rancid they should get those teeny tiny jars because they're just wasting peanut butter.
Fun fact you can take your entire jar of regular peanut butter and throw it in the freezer, if you don't think you'll eat it by the due date and then thaw it when you want to eat it. I learned this one after I threw out two jars of past date peanut butter I had bought because it was a really good sale. Mom just said "why didn't you freeze them?" 😯 I tried it after and it works, I've been doing it for years.
Oh my God the GERMS!!! Christmas lights in the fridge is so baddddd. Why can't we just put the lights OUTSIDE the fridge!? Imagine food getting on those bulbs. Many Christmas lights are still incandescents, which will make anything they contact with warm. Degrading the purpose of the fridge. Maybe if they were LEDs it won't be as bad, but there's still so much non-food junk in the fridge, potentially broken glass or broken bits of plastic too.
Mind you I'm from the philippines, and I'll admit that we go overboard on christmas deco at the first of the 'BER' month. But christmas lights in a fridge...? Dunno about other pinoys, but for me, that's a bit much.
@@trickthemisfit3256my mom is from the Philippines (im half, and I AM PROUD.) and she LOOOOVES Christmas! BUT WE WOULD NEVER PUT LIGHTS IN OUR FRIDGE, THAT’S A LITERAL HAZARD 😭
My mom would throw a huge party once a year. I could see her decorating the hand soap for the evening. Just for the cuteness, she freaking LOVED Christmas. I miss her.
5:58 the *ONLY* reason I ever considered doing this fruit in ice trend is because for the holiday’s my grandma likes to make this special punch. It’s usually different fruit juices with sprite or ginger ale mixed together and she would add fruit chunks into it. The type of fruits you’d find in fruit cups. The punch is always great and the fruits just sat at the bottom of the bowl. You could avoid them unless you actually wanted to grab a scoop. The frozen fruit “ices” could be a fun way to include younger kids in the punch process without the fruits going to waste. I’ve never done those ice trends but I did think about it last year… I just forgot to get the items needed because it’s not a necessity 🤷🏽♀️😂
That’s fair, but for me it would be a bit different. I’d fill it with a bit of concrete as a memento of my dad and his brothers “special” wrapping of sealing the others gift in a home depot bucket full of concrete
Use window clings to decorate everything from vases to dessert trays or photo frames and even your soap dispensers. they're reusable, stick to just about any smooth surface and you can easily change them for different holidays. I learned this hack recently and it is so damn simple I felt dumb for not realizing before, they aren't just for windows! If done right the fun ice cubes can be lovely in a clear punch dispenser.
I currently work at Kohl's and I shit you not, we're selling Kohl's Cash ornaments. Like, an ornament shaped like the logo for Kohl's Cash. Who the hell is buying these? Not the people working there, I know that much because who wants their miserable job on their Christmas tree. I also used to work at Home Depot and the bucket ornaments also made me cringe.
1:10 I understand why the bread is there because it will get moldy if it's not in a cold area but the peanut butter?(this made me mad because I can't eat it anymore cause I have lots of flem and it's had like stuff that will worsens my tonsils:((( ) OMGGG OMGGG TYY I NEVER HAS GOTTEN 42 LIKES
4:51 ok so for Christmas my dad makes these ice spheres, where he puts two pieces of rosemary on a cranberry inside the ice. It’s no more than one cranberry, and it looks like a reindeer
13:10 this is also unhygienic. You cannot sanitize 100% the candy canes (unless they were dipped in liquid alcohol, in that case the dyes would come off). If you wash it, it’s not gonna be clean enough to put in soap. They probably used it straight from the bag, and that’s gonna contaminate your hand soap.
She clearly said plastic candy canes, it's just to decorate the same as the snowflakes. To be fair someone could take them out of the soap wash them and reuse them the next year
@@Ki1aGam3z that's possible I guess, but these are being put in hand soap not alcohol so having washed many kids toys with hand soap, dish soap and laundry soap, even bleach, I don't think that the color would come off.
I think Christmas trees in the ceiling are a great idea. If you get stuck home alone and someone breaks into your house to try and rob you, you already have a booby trap set up.
The only thing I can excuse is the Home Depot ornament. Yeah, it's overpriced but I'd probably get one for my grandpa who's kind of a handyman. It's niche, but I think that is probably the point of them
My mom LOVES holiday hand soaps. Every time they release new ones when a new season/holiday rolls around, my mom usually buys them and sets one in our kitchen to wash our hands with when we make supper, and then one in our bathroom. The soaps actually get used, and aren't just sitting there for ✨aesthetics✨. We're on a fixed income, so we literally cannot afford to waste soap by making it look "pretty" or "festive". If we need soap for something, we use it. We don't just let it sit there like it's a trophy
Pro-tip for anyone who wants to effectively fill in the gaps in their tree (because I found that straight ornaments and other decorations doesn't quite do the trick entirely): Garland. Get garland that matches the look of your tree and wrap it around, stuffing it a little bit inside to fill any gaps. This makes your tree look nice, full, and fluffy~
The fridge lights are just for the videos; change the juice for gelatine in the ice cube trades; I do like the floating trees but either you have to make one yourself with light materials or get the ones from walmart that fold that we saw in the other video; glue the ornaments outside of the bottle and when the season is over, store it.
Omg does she not realize that 4$ isn’t super expensive for ornaments anymore? Like at Yankee Candle it’s ~10$ for one single ornament. The sticks and paper towels are outrageous though.
In fairness here, the woman was using white tissue PAPER-as in the stuff you put in gift bags with presents-not tissues for your nose. Go back and look closely at the text in her video. I don’t like how the tree looks either, but I can kinda understand why she thought it would work. “Christmas tree = presents, and you wrap presents IN tissue paper so let’s stick that on the tree!!” Also for anyone who doesn’t know, you can buy toilet seats at hardware stores. Source: my boyfriend works at Home Hardware.
I think it's interesting to know what other people put in the fridge. Fruits? Yeah, I can see it. Bread? On hot days I get it, especially if it's home made. The wildest thing I ever saw in someones fridge was mouthwash lol. But Christmas lights?!? No.
I think those were pine needles being added to the xmas ice trays. It’s apparently edible, and there’s even vitamins made from pine needles, but I don’t know if added pine needles to ice mixtures would be a good idea.

Bath and Body Works already makes festive hand soap covers that can be swapped every day or year, I would find those better than a candy cane.
Somehow, having Hayley yelling about stupid Christmas things relieves some of my stress of the more depressing stuff going on in the world. Tiny candy canes should not be wasted in such a way. Also, cute outfit!
If the grinch had this and the beige Christmas decorations as a motivation to hating Christmas, everyone would agree with him.
Everyone's so dramatic, they can decorate how they want 😂😂
5:16 "COOKIES, ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ICE"-
Haylo Hayley, 2024
4:05 i can’t criticize this because my mom lowkey does this kinda stuff for me.. I have an obsession with eating ice, idk why, i’ve had an obsession with eating ice since i was a baby. anyhow, you wanna know what she adds to the ice cubes for me to eat cause she doesn’t want me eating straight up ice cubes? CANDY CANE WATER FLAVORING FOR CHRISTMAS. and when it’s not christmas, she just adds a small amount of water flavouring! you do NOT need to add all that stuff to ice cubes. no matter if your eating it or using it for your drink, Mind you, my mom has been using the SAME EXACT ICE TRAY FOR 8 YEARS. you DO NOT need that many ice trays.
You may want to check on your iron levels. Eating ice a lot can be a sign of anemia. I found that out the hard way😊. Blessings on you
@@mariahb5194 omg i didn’t know, thank you so much for telling me
@Ch1y0U5Channel 🤗❤️ you're so welcome! I hope it helps. I was told that when I couldn't get enough ice. And whaddya know, my iron was very low. Blessings!
Be careful of your teeth it can cause damage over time
@@comenerdwithme3346 i will, don’t worry
THE QUEEN HAS FINALLLY POSTED
Oh my God the GERMS!!! Christmas lights in the fridge is so baddddd. Why can't we just put the lights OUTSIDE the fridge!? Imagine food getting on those bulbs. Many Christmas lights are still incandescents, which will make anything they contact with warm. Degrading the purpose of the fridge. Maybe if they were LEDs it won't be as bad, but there's still so much non-food junk in the fridge, potentially broken glass or broken bits of plastic too.
TIKTOK IT'S ONLY NOVEMBER CHILL AND STOP WITH THOSE RIDICULOUS STUFF
Mind you I'm from the philippines, and I'll admit that we go overboard on christmas deco at the first of the 'BER' month. But christmas lights in a fridge...? Dunno about other pinoys, but for me, that's a bit much.
Fr, Thanksgiving hasn’t even happened yet
@@trickthemisfit3256my mom is from the Philippines (im half, and I AM PROUD.) and she LOOOOVES Christmas! BUT WE WOULD NEVER PUT LIGHTS IN OUR FRIDGE, THAT’S A LITERAL HAZARD 😭
@Cardinal_73 I'm Canadian we alredy did Thanksgiving so to me decorating for Christmas in November is normal
5:13 why do i feel the need to say "yes mother" 🤣 i love how passionate you are ! you say out loud everything i think 😅🖤
I love how Hayley just gives it to us straight like there is not cap on this channel
0:20 atleast they’re using festive colors instead of black grey beige and white
This is where all their normal decor went
Overconsumption: Christmas Edition 🎄
This should be a movie
@yasminemaamoun8543 Lol 😭 real
Did you really had to write a paragraph?

10:15 dead ass, if it wasn't 4 dollars, I'd by that. Not even because its home depot. I just want a tiny bucket-
That’s fair, but for me it would be a bit different. I’d fill it with a bit of concrete as a memento of my dad and his brothers “special” wrapping of sealing the others gift in a home depot bucket full of concrete
Why is nobody talking about how nice the decorations are in Haley‘s room😮
Use window clings to decorate everything from vases to dessert trays or photo frames and even your soap dispensers. they're reusable, stick to just about any smooth surface and you can easily change them for different holidays. I learned this hack recently and it is so damn simple I felt dumb for not realizing before, they aren't just for windows! If done right the fun ice cubes can be lovely in a clear punch dispenser.
Damn. I actually love the tiny Home Depot bucket. That's so cute.
😆
I thought so too...but it costs the same as the big bucket!
Omg your outfit Hayley is sooo cute !! It's so 70s vibes ❤❤❤
2:52 they couldn’t even put it on the outside fridge 😭
Fr like that makes waaay more sense then putting christmas lights inside of the fridge
1:10 I understand why the bread is there because it will get moldy if it's not in a cold area but the peanut butter?(this made me mad because I can't eat it anymore cause I have lots of flem and it's had like stuff that will worsens my tonsils:((( )
OMGGG OMGGG TYY I NEVER HAS GOTTEN 42 LIKES
I went to the comment section for this lmao my mom is always telling me to put the bread in the fridge or it’ll mold
Well actually it can go mouldy I the cold tho so just keep it in the bread bin
@Preppypookie-bg8jn oh. Also what's a bread bin (I mostly leave bread in Freezer cose it takes longer 4 it to mold)
@ it's basically just a tin or like box to keep bread in lol
@Preppypookie-bg8jn ohhh
4:51 ok so for Christmas my dad makes these ice spheres, where he puts two pieces of rosemary on a cranberry inside the ice. It’s no more than one cranberry, and it looks like a reindeer
12:09 nah $40 for a Christmas stick at original price!!!! That’s amazing price, there’s no where else I can get a Christmas stick ever
This outfit is genuinely so amazing omgg I love the aesthetic
I CANT GET AWAY FROM KNEE SURGERY!
Candy canes get wrapped in plastic
She clearly said plastic candy canes, it's just to decorate the same as the snowflakes. To be fair someone could take them out of the soap wash them and reuse them the next year
Yes, it’s plastic
But the plastic is coated with synthetic dyes
And rubbing alcohol would just erase the dyes and turn it into plastic white canes
@@Ki1aGam3z that's possible I guess, but these are being put in hand soap not alcohol so having washed many kids toys with hand soap, dish soap and laundry soap, even bleach, I don't think that the color would come off.
Next they'll decorate there Pads and Tampons... Or even there own water bottle!
Yum yum! Choking hazard because they added plastic stuff in them!
They already have decorated pads..
They did decorate bottles so
stop giving them ideas
@@trippysiren7966 there gonna decorate their whole entire bathroom towels now
I think Christmas trees in the ceiling are a great idea. If you get stuck home alone and someone breaks into your house to try and rob you, you already have a booby trap set up.
11:53 it was 40 dollars without the discount 😭😭
Like omg I would be surprised if there was a stick at the store for 50 cents…
Everytime I see videos like this, my instant thought is "where are all these people getting the money to buy so much crap?"
The soaps actually get used, and aren't just sitting there for
✨aesthetics✨. We're on a fixed income, so we literally cannot afford to waste soap by making it look "pretty" or "festive". If we need soap for something, we use it. We don't just let it sit there like it's a trophy
Haylo Haley has become my favorite TH-camr.
11:04 my mom buys Christmas hand towels but they're WASHABLE and they LAST
The fridge lights are just for the videos; change the juice for gelatine in the ice cube trades; I do like the floating trees but either you have to make one yourself with light materials or get the ones from walmart that fold that we saw in the other video; glue the ornaments outside of the bottle and when the season is over, store it.
8:13 that is a fire hazard if I ever saw one
Fr
It's better than a sad beige Christmas
I love your content! My cousin is an over-consumer and I watch your content to find things to tell her!
“Christmas tree = presents, and you wrap presents IN tissue paper so let’s stick that on the tree!!”
Also for anyone who doesn’t know, you can buy toilet seats at hardware stores. Source: my boyfriend works at Home Hardware.
It's still a fire hazard, paper should NEVER be around a light source, especially cheap xmas lights.
EXACTLY
11:59 bro, I honestly can't tell if he is being sarcastic about $17 worth of sticks I can grab on my floor 💀😭😭😭
0:25 NOT THE UWU FINGERS XD💀💀
NOOOOOO I HAVE UWU FINGERS
Why are these fridges more festive than the sad beige mom’s entire decorations
Cus that’s where all their normal decor went
It’s all fun and games until their bills roll in
i adore that collared shirt she is wearing
Hayley you're always a Grinch anyways 😂
0:04 that feeling when ankle surgery is next week
I cannot believe the Canadian Tire stick "deal"....what in the actual F×CK!
Not to worry about their leftovers, Hayley. These are the people who eat delivery for every meal, their fridges are basically useless anyway.
4:06 remember when Hailey said that the Halloween ice people would buy MORE ice trays for Christmas? :)
The prophecy is true…!
This makes the grinch be looking like a angel 😇 ❤
I think it's interesting to know what other people put in the fridge. Fruits? Yeah, I can see it. Bread? On hot days I get it, especially if it's home made. The wildest thing I ever saw in someones fridge was mouthwash lol. But Christmas lights?!? No.
I loooove your outfit. They’re hair, the earrings, the top & dress combo❤
Ngl, i think the food itself can already be festive instead of lights💀
I think those were pine needles being added to the xmas ice trays. It’s apparently edible, and there’s even vitamins made from pine needles, but I don’t know if added pine needles to ice mixtures would be a good idea.
