@ They can at the very least add a failsafe of some sort, and more transparent glass windows like any car. A bus has an emergency glass hammer, cars has airbags. AI isn’t perfect as it’s clearly shown in the past and crashes or any other incidents are not 100% guaranteed to never happen.
@ AI improves over time, humans have reached the limits of their capacities. It won’t happen tomorrow, but trust me a million deaths from human drivers isn’t acceptable
The Waymo cars in Phoenix are great. I’ve ridden them many times and they are really nice and convenient. One time when riding, an ambulance came by and the Waymo handled it with no issues.
Can the robotaxi navigate an accident situation with signals out and crossing guards directing traffic? Assume there is a remote operator at customer support that can take over if you press the emergency button.
Not crashing lol. These cars will be way way way better than any human driver that's ever lived. Even tesla's current self driving v13 is seriously impressive now
Will building and maintaining the massive infrastructure that supports the automobile be possible when the taxes are paid by tax avoiding corporations? There's the loss of income and revenue from drivers to factor in as well. Will online retailers cover the loss of property taxes from brick and mortar stores that support most schools in America? Lots of challenges and unintended consequences ahead.
It already happened, with Tesla autopilot automatically disengaging 0.00001 second before it realizes a crash is imminent so that they can claim the car was in your full control at the moment of a crash
Yea, uber and uber eats and all of those companies will die. It has to happen though. I really do think that as jobs start to be replaced by ai, we really are going to need some form of universal income or something.
@danielwilliams7670 1000% correct actually. humans do not have the skills to be good drivers and motor vehicles / driving brings out the worst in people. an awful invention every way you look at it
Just curious, were they going with that eventually people wouldn’t have money to spend if robot takes over their job then I want to see the Robrt paid money for the service lol

Reminds me of the taxi in “Total Recall”
Yeah, all those people out of work. why not embrace it?
Being an ex Lyft driver, I won't use these so I don't take money away from a gig driver who is just trying to make a living.
Putting people’s safety in the hands of AI with no fail safe doesn’t seem like the best idea.
You think a minimum wage gig worker is any better?
@ yes because you multiple outs in that situation compared to this.

Dystopian world, blade runner
Get your lawyers ready. We all know there will be plenty mistakes.
Many lawyers will tell sorry we won't take such cases. Just like in present days for many other cases.

I’m into it. My last uber driver was trying to secretly eat fish while driving. It was a very smelly ride - the driver was also a bit reckless.
Fish don’t like Jell-O.
1:22 "only 5 minutes" of going in circles is pretty long 😅
They said that because the guy made it seem like it was over 30 minutes. Guy was just trying to get views.
I would like to see the robo taxis deployed to Pakistan.
I think theres already one like this that delivers pizzas for Dominoes or something.
More ways for big brother to know you better 😂
Will wall street monopolize then overcharge to make life on earth harder?
Finally insurance rates are about to go down.
We have them here in Phoenix. They are *much* safer than the human drivers around here.
Love these commercials

Only 5 minutes?
Welcome to total recall!
Just add a Johnny cab and your good to go 👍
Love the movie lol just not a angry Johnny lol
Kinda cool car 😊
The more we move forward the further back it takes us.
How do you keep the homeless from using them as restrooms and houses?
That's actually solution right there. Just cities to give to homeless people 30000 those vehicles or more as needed.

It will never happen for that fact alone.

Take an uber

We don't need driverless vehicles. What we need is for drivers to quit driving like every trip is a NASCAR race.
And how many people will be left jobless because of driverless car?
Oh yea. Don't forget it will eventually have eye scanners on it. Better be up to date with all your boosters!
