Actually, it's great to see somebody do a demo and NOT like something. I watch too many gear demos where they never really have anything negative to say about the products, and it makes me not trust those reviewers as much. Over the years, I've found myself not liking a lot of amps and fighting to get a good and consistent sound. So thanks for the honest review!
I'm another here who really appreciates a good honest, unbiased review. The amp wasn't for him, and it doesn't mean we wouldn't like it, he tells it like it is. Well done.
I love your videos and really appreciate your honesty. Seeing how you were with this amp highlights how genuine your excitement is for a piece of gear when you DO like it. There isn't much authentic guitar gear TH-cam content out there, but your channel is 100% from the heart. Thanks for making this one!
Love your honesty. Some other TH-camrs that I used to watch regularly seem to be losing their independence, objectivity, and honesty. They are sounding more and more like salesmen and company shills. With that, they are losing me as a regular viewer. I think TH-camrs that regularly make demos, are facing financial pressures to deliver positive reviews to help secure sponsorships and future demo opportunities. Ultimately, this hurts everyone. I think a way around this would be for manufacturers to commission a group of trusted, talented TH-camrs to "Beta Test" products set for new release so they have an opportunity to make sure their products deliver the goods, will be liked, and well-received. As a consumer, I want good products at a reasonable price, and the manufacturers to be able to achieve that. Thanks Euge. I hope you will always maintain your independence, honesty, attitude, and killer guitar playing. 🙏👍
Exactly Euge you said it perfectly when reviewing the Mig 50 all these amps have lots of different sounds & many bells & whistles but they lack that 1 great epic sound.
Glad to see honest opinions. I would expect to see more differences in opinion than what I see on TH-cam these days. Refreshing. Check out the G20, curious to see if that does any different. Now we'll know how it does on whether we get an intro song 👍 or not.
Old school and honesty goes hand in hand! Cheers! On another, but related subject... I've tried many high-priced amps expecting some sort of voodoo-magical tone, but have usually felt disillusioned and disappointed. They sound OK, but not for the price they demand. On the other hand, I just acquired a Marshall DSL20CR for quieter home playing. It's a reasonably priced 20w, 1x12 combo. This amp blows me away...especially for the price.
Indeed. Thanks! Yeah the sound is in the hands and amps just amplify what is ”feed” into them. Obviously bringing their own tonal character etc. One can never go wrong with a Marshall 👌😎.
Thanks! Cool man! Yeah I have one too and it’s almost as mean as my Bad Boy 800 2203 from 1984 😎. They actually work really well together for hard L & R panned chunky rhythm guitars 💪.
Thanks for the honest review Euge! I agree 100% about the EVH amps they are amazing. I've noticed almost anything people plug in to an interface sounds good. I'm old school myself I want to plug into a amp not a computer and let the beast come out. Thanks for sharing the love my friend!!! 🤘🤘👍👍

I recently succumbed to youtube paid demonstrators and bought the Quad Cortex. What a mistake that was. Every amp model and capture in the thing sounds the same no matter what built-in speaker ir’s are used. So it just sits in the storage unit now. Worst purchase of guitar gear I have ever made. So glad I did not sell any of my tube amps. The Quad Cortex has taken the edge off guitar sounds and made it sound too smooth. There is no real rawness to the sound at all, far too polite. Good job as always.

Hey! I've been watching a lotta your videos. Good stuff! I feel like this amp can be a great platform for high-gain amp-in-the-boxes, such as Bogner Red/Ubershcall, AMT, Empress Heavy, ADA MP-1 etc. It's definitely lacking something in and of itself, and IMHO I wouldn't use it for what it is. The bottom line is, it's got real tubes and a great cab sim built-in which alone costs a few hundred USD, I'd say it's pretty bang for the buck. Cheers!

Yeah I’ve played one a few times with Shining back in the day (rental backline) and it did the job. Not as good as the original UK made JCM2000 DSL but you can never go wrong with a Marshall, SD-1 and a Les Paul 😎💪.
I laughed so much in the first minutes, before you finally let it out “I don’t like it at all” 😂 I could hear your mind in the background thinking “Damn, this thing really sucks!” 🤣
I know this amp is touted as "a pedal platform" but from the demos/reviews I've listened to it either has a Huge thick juicy sound or it's flat & dead. This amp either has some quality issues or it doesn't match well with some pedals(specifically boosts/od/dist). Maybe it only wakes up with certain speakers' combinations.. who knows. I'm guessing it's mostly a circuit thing that doesn't work well with some boost/od pedals.... too bad, I guess this really isn't the one amp to rule them all :(. Thanks for the demo :) !
Rare thing, not (overly) positive review, nice! What would be cool, to hear pro opinion on something beginners and bedroom guitarist might get, something like Marshall MG15Fx solid state amp. I feel something like that together with fully digitized set-up for variety is something us non-pro, non-gigging people might typically have nowadays. Although fully understandable if not interesting to you at all.
Dear Euge, will there be any chance for you to demo Laboga amps in the future? They're a boutique Polish brand, well revered, but very rare. A fresh professional review could help me out before I pull the trigger on one of their amps. Thanks!
Hey Euge how are you? Loving your reviews I just wanted to ask you a question do you know of a good Auto Wah pedal? There's one I did on my fractal and it was awesome cuz you could set how you use a lot be up and down
All good thanks and glad to hear! I’ve always used just a basic old school wahs but I think Dunlop makes a good auto wah. At least I’ve seen Kerry King using one and praising about it but I’ve never tried one 😎.
Actually I just looked that up and that's a fixed wah all right if you hear of one let me know it's just my legs are fucked up and it's hard to balance when using the wah it fucking sux getting old lol
Wall Of Sound? I have had some good tones using that software, but I also do not like the user interface. It does not feel intuitive to me. Currently I am liking the IR loader in Amplitube 5 because it just works and is not over complicated. I also like its new VIR tech for IK's own speaker sim IRs that makes accurate mic placement easy and feels a lot like placing a real mic. Overall I prefer the amp modelling of the Mikko plugins, but I prefer using IK's new stand-alone AT5 most of the time if I am just playing.
I've seen all the videos hyping this amp and I was considering it until I saw your demo.. The amp sounds flat and very one dimensional . I'm glad to hear an unbiased opinion Now I'll have to decide between the Friedman Runt 20 or the ENGL Fireball 25..
I was quite surprised about the amp too and was excepting a lot more ’cos of the reasons you said. But definitely wasn’t my cup of tea. Oh that’s a tough one. I’d probably go with the runt since I like Marshalls a lot and Dave Friedman’s amps are pretty much like his take on them and especially the good ol’ Plexis & 800s👌.
@@EugeValovirta230V Thanks for the advice and excellent demos you produce. I think I'm leaning towards the Friedman as well.. I had a great sounding JCM 800 in the 80's that I've always regretted selling.
wow. so sick of all the youtube idiots shilling for this garbage company. i actually bought the g20 and it was straight garbage. thanks so much for the honest review! you give me hope that not everyone is a shill!!
When I saw this...I was like noway he's gonna be a fan a this thing...not even close to his kinda style.or sound.. The d20 is like boutique amps n he Jus needs a Marshall w a boss super OD n front n crank it!
Yeah, I don't like this one either. For the same money, you can get an ENGL Fireball 25, which is really good. Or like you said, an EVH 50-watt amp head. We always appreciate your honest reviews. ( I don't think Pepita liked it either. He looks kinda bored, back there. )
I’m not a fan of “amps with apps,” (except for a PC computer interface utility that aids in editing presets). I certainly don’t need the editing interface incessantly prompting me to purchase add-on products - yuk. The Revv G-3 or G-4 distortion might be the better sounding, more usable product, despite being an entirely different product category.
To be very honest, the sound you are getting from the amp is so soulless and even just artificial, sounds "cheap" and digital in the old fashioned bad way. I understand you don´t like it at all! To be fair with the amp, I´ve seen videos where the players get an impressively warm sound out of it, with somewhat different set up (the review from Ravea Masaad is sick). Anyway, great to see espontaneous honest reactions also in the internet man, so refreshing and helpful! Now we know, this amp can also sound bad and it´s not bed of roses like plug and get the heavenly tones.
I think there are a whole new group of players who enjoy these type amps including the digital stuff; Im old school. I just want to plug in, get a great sound and play without searching how do I make it sound good. Its the same reason I couldn't get along with my Mesa Boogie Mark IV
The Revv G20 sounds better for hard rock and metal. But only connected to a real cab. I've heard demos with the virtual cabs and it didn't sound better than most amp sims. Honestly it sounded dissapointing for something that expensive. So no I won't buy one. I stick to my kemper and probably buy another guitar, new or used, for that amount of money.
Torpedo Captor (X or not) is not a good loadbox for recording because it doesn’t properly simulate a real speaker impedance. You can get good tones, but a Suhr Reactive Load (IR or no) will be much more reliable.
I think, the problem with this analog tube amps mixed with digital stuff is, that in a few years the digital part is outdated. I prefer a good analog tube amp which lasts forever and buy digital additions, if needed, seperatly.
They really should have sent you a G20. You don't have to say anything I can see the disappointment on your face the whole time lol. It's very unlike you. Appreciate the review, I still enjoyed the video. We aren't going to like everything.

Pirun mielenkiintoinen Video! Terkkuja kotopuolesta ;)
Kiitos! Nasta kuulla!
Katotaan jos sellainen tulis joku päivä vastaan 😎
is that tokai les paul a guitar we could find somewhere with that painting? or it is a custom paint by you? thanks
Custom paint by my friend.
You should check out the little 5 watt Hotone Heart Attack
I have all kinds of amps, preamps modelers and effects
I keep coming back to the little cheap Chinese hotone
I just actually got a bunch of their stuff but haven’t yet checked out what. But you’ll see soon 😎.
I agree,if you can’t just plug it in and get a decent tone out of it there’s others that I can
Indeed.
Have you tried the Marshall DSL100HR ? I think it`s a very good amp for the price - rock on !
😁👍
I know this amp is touted as "a pedal platform" but from the demos/reviews I've listened to it either has a Huge thick juicy sound or it's flat & dead. This amp either has some quality issues or it doesn't match well with some pedals(specifically boosts/od/dist). Maybe it only wakes up with certain speakers' combinations.. who knows. I'm guessing it's mostly a circuit thing that doesn't work well with some boost/od pedals.... too bad, I guess this really isn't the one amp to rule them all :(. Thanks for the demo :) !
Euge, thanks for your frank opinion.
If posible, test Fortin Sigil please.
You’re welcome. If I get my hands on one some day 👌.
First off that guitar is exellent.
🤟👌😎
Eugene. Come to Idaho. I will take you camping and we can have an acoustic set by the fire.
Sounds great so maybe someday 🤟😎🙏.
Thanks! Good suggestion. Lemme look into that 👌😎.
Dear Euge, will there be any chance for you to demo Laboga amps in the future? They're a boutique Polish brand, well revered, but very rare. A fresh professional review could help me out before I pull the trigger on one of their amps. Thanks!
I have to check if my local music store MusiX have them and if so then yes 😎🤟.
Honesty! 🔥
🙏
@@EugeValovirta230V Would love to see you reviewing Victory lunch boxes, The Jack and The Sheriff. Keep it up! 💪
Yeah hopefully some day! I will.
@@EugeValovirta230V thx bud
Actually I just looked that up and that's a fixed wah all right if you hear of one let me know it's just my legs are fucked up and it's hard to balance when using the wah it fucking sux getting old lol
👌
Pepita is dreaming of he return to Lapland :)
He’ll be there on Winter again 😊.
😎
Sounds cool! 🤟😊
You’re welcome! My two 800s from the 80s are still on heavy use and pretty much ”the sound in my head” 👌😎.
Cool bro!!!!
Thanks C!
You are wellcome E!!!!
wow. so sick of all the youtube idiots shilling for this garbage company. i actually bought the g20 and it was straight garbage. thanks so much for the honest review! you give me hope that not everyone is a shill!!
Thanks!
When I saw this...I was like noway he's gonna be a fan a this thing...not even close to his kinda style.or sound.. The d20 is like boutique amps n he Jus needs a Marshall w a boss super OD n front n crank it!
😎
Yeah, I don't like this one either. For the same money, you can get an ENGL Fireball 25, which is really good. Or like you said, an EVH 50-watt amp head. We always appreciate your honest reviews. ( I don't think Pepita liked it either. He looks kinda bored, back there. )
Thanks! Oh yeah the ENGL too and of course the Marshall Studio series amps 👌.
@@EugeValovirta230V Or the Amp1 Iridium! Which is actually cheaper, but sounds way better!
Oh yeah that’s the best! After The Bad Boy naturally 😎.
top 3 best amp brand ( not ranked )
bluguitar amp 1
friedman amp
revv
I’m not a fan of “amps with apps,” (except for a PC computer interface utility that aids in editing presets). I certainly don’t need the editing interface incessantly prompting me to purchase add-on products - yuk. The Revv G-3 or G-4 distortion might be the better sounding, more usable product, despite being an entirely different product category.
G20 next?
Maybe some day.
I believe Delain dude used the Revv distorion in front of D20, maybe you'd like it with BE-OD in front of the amp.
I was looling at a Revv amp on Equipboard, and the ONLY “artists” listed were TH-cam influencers. 🙄
😎
"it's a sound..." hahah
😁
To be very honest, the sound you are getting from the amp is so soulless and even just artificial, sounds "cheap" and digital in the old fashioned bad way. I understand you don´t like it at all! To be fair with the amp, I´ve seen videos where the players get an impressively warm sound out of it, with somewhat different set up (the review from Ravea Masaad is sick). Anyway, great to see espontaneous honest reactions also in the internet man, so refreshing and helpful! Now we know, this amp can also sound bad and it´s not bed of roses like plug and get the heavenly tones.
That’s the same way I feel about most gear I buy…🤷🏽♂️
😁
Love the honesty. And i agree it sounds like dog turd. And that´s my opinion ;)
🙏😎👌
I think there are a whole new group of players who enjoy these type amps including the digital stuff; Im old school. I just want to plug in, get a great sound and play without searching how do I make it sound good. Its the same reason I couldn't get along with my Mesa Boogie Mark IV
Yeah I like the good digital stuff too. If it sounds good, it’s good 👌😎.
👌
Torpedo Captor (X or not) is not a good loadbox for recording because it doesn’t properly simulate a real speaker impedance. You can get good tones, but a Suhr Reactive Load (IR or no) will be much more reliable.
I think, the problem with this analog tube amps mixed with digital stuff is, that in a few years the digital part is outdated. I prefer a good analog tube amp which lasts forever and buy digital additions, if needed, seperatly.
I agree.
I bought this amp 2 plus years ago. I know what you mean by not being inspired. I’m not too happy with it either.
😎
Haha, you can tell how much he hates it.... Not too many honest youtubers around. KUDOS!
😎🙏
First time i hear you sound bad 😂😂
There’s a first time for everything 😁.
They really should have sent you a G20. You don't have to say anything I can see the disappointment on your face the whole time lol. It's very unlike you. Appreciate the review, I still enjoyed the video. We aren't going to like everything.
Thanks man!
Hey, not everything is going to sound good 🤣
Nope 😁
Thank you,,,,, this thing is dead.
The Revv amps make me want to stop playing guitar!!!
😁
G20 is more metal
It’s crap. Next!
😊
cant like them all, no matter how popular they are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
😊👌
This Tube Amp sounds like a bad modeler.
love that comment, I dont like it.......I will for certain come back to honeste reveer...so many sale hookeers around, yaah know .
🙏👌
@@EugeValovirta230V Hi again. Euge, we are neighbours, and I have released metall music myself, also jazz an other things. But, you konow what, I have to ask you. My EVH 5150 III, 50 w, broke, on the red cannel, hadrdly used amp ! Thomann will not refudn as it is over 3 years. SO I lost 1500 dollars ! to go to raair in Norway...well, its same in Finland , about 100 doallrs an hour !. This map has such a great sound ! but what would You, buy next time, I have to repair noe, in a way, and then sell it, I can not trust this amp. You hav a recomendation,m in the same sound / category ? reliable, must be :)
Just take it to an amp tech. It might be just a broken tube. My tube amps blows & brakes every now & then since that’s life with tube amps 😎. Your amp has lasted surprisingly long without blowing tubes etc.
Wouldn’t make any sense to me to buy new gear whenever something breaks ’cos that happens a lot. Especially on tours. I live in Switzerland so were not that close if you live in Norway.
