He was a bad man! He had a great ‘98 season with the White Sox and still holds some single season records. Wish we would’ve gotten to see him play 4-5 more years. He definitely would’ve ended up with 500+ home runs.
Albert Belle hit 36 home runs after the All-Star Break in 1995. Only six players- Frank Thomas, Jay Buhner, Dante Bichette, Mo Vaughn, Mark McGwire, and Rafael Palmeiro- hit more HR in the entire 1995 season than Belle hit after the AS Break.
That MVP vote is one the all-time postseason award robberies. Absurd doesn't cover it. You can't even say Mo Vaughn led Boston to a better record. Completely indefensible.
Love this!!! Belle will forever be my favorite player.

Got anything for his 1998 season with the white sox?
Excellent video!
Should have won MVP
One of the biggest robberies in MLB history in 1995. Screw Mo Vaughn!
ESPN Craig Kilborn. Forgot about that.
Whoever voted for Mo Vaughn to win MVP over Belle in 95 outta be shot. A 50-50 season that’s enough to win the award
Unfortunately not kissing the medias butt cost you in MVP voting
Unfortunate that his reputation/personality cost him the votes for the MVP award that his on-field production more than earned that season.
