First story really bothers me. I'd say buy groceries for the parents, because you don't want them to starve, but there's a chance the parents would resent that 'because they aren't children'. Because I was one of 20 people with the same name in my school, I did decide to give my son an interesting first name, but a more normal first name....( If I'd had a girl it'd be something like Eclipse Mary) he ended up going by a nickname derived from his name that fit him well, but he likes his name and what goes with it. However if it'd been an issue, or he didn't like it, he could have gone by his middle name... Thankfully it worked out, but I took some precautions at least, and Dad was fully on board and involved in the naming. Mom could have talked about using her interesting name as a nickname , as Dad was not on board with it being the legal name

I felt it was her kids responsibility to look after their mother when she retired but instead they slept around and dumped their kids on her, and h the e kids weren’t all easy. Obviously it’s not ideal for energetic young boys in a poor neighborhood without their dads. Then she got gangrene in her foot from diabetes and was too scared to have it amputated. Her kids let her die. Now I don’t even know what’s happened to the babies who’ve lost their parent and have to be dealt with their careless bio parents. No doubt the youngest child (my playmate) who had her university funded by my parents, will be expected to pay for everything, having a decent job and no kids. Hope they don’t drag her down. In the first story, instead of asking for receipts just pay the bills only up to $500. Then that’s it. No extra money. If there is really an issue with unexpected expenses, then she pays the expense directly. That’s it.
Story #1 - Give the parents Gift Cards to help them. Gift card to the local grocery store, etc. OR offer to pay the light bill directly so they can use their money to buy the item that is not able to be paid with a gift card.
Story #2 - Hand the half-sister an aspirin pill, tell her it is a birth control pill, to use it by holding it between her knees. She should also tell her mother that she deserves a mother more than Laury's children deserve a grandmother. How can she do both roles without one of them being cheated out of a relationship.
Story #3 - I really have to weigh in on this one. I have a very unusual name for a girl. My first name is female but my middle & last name are both common male names, kinda like Tommy Lee. I was raised being called the first & middle names together like "Bobby Sue" (not my real name, mine is worse). During the era and the location I grew up in, this was NOT normal and I got teased horribly. By the time I married the first time I dropped my middle name as well as my maiden name so I would not have the "look" or teasing even adults did.
Fast forward40+ years to the birth of #1 grandson who was named after a movie character. The name rhymes with the F word. I warned my daughter not to do this to him. That elementary kids will tease him (and they did). Well he is now 19, he lived through it. Now he is proud of his name, maybe because of surviving it.
You never know how a name AND the situation will change a person. It's a crap shoot no matter what you do.

Second story, anybody wants to help me with the math and the definition of Planned? Because the sister had 3 kids in diapers then PLANNED the 4th and the 5th? As in, she did that on purpose? It even sounds like the 7-year olds are still in diapers.
I feel bad for OP, being a kid herself (16) the adults are just going to yell at her, even though she has more common sense and has been a babysitter for most of her life.
If she PLANS them, then YES, it's on purpose! That's more money she can get, in Federal and State aid, as an impoverished mother. Doesn't matter who the father is, if she's married or not, if she's the one who is poor. Infant children eventually grow up to be disqualify for WIC, aid for Women and Infant Children, so, just have another! I worked with a guy, whose mother pushed out babies for years, just to increase her welfare and WIC and SNAP benefits, for like 20 years. He was seriously emotionally scarred by this.

Naming the baby should be an agreed upon name (unless the father is NOT involved).
However, that said, my husband went to sign the birth certificate with his mom. She wanted her name as the middle name....and he did that without my knowledge, nor did he ask/tell me. I found out when I received the paperwork...40 years ago and I still do not like her middle name, Ray.
I don't think mune is such a weird name, like it could pass as rather normal, I don't get what all the fuss was about. Think about all the little girls named luna. The problem is that she lied. First story really bothers me. I'd say buy groceries for the parents, because you don't want them to starve, but there's a chance the parents would resent that 'because they aren't children'.
This is why the story of The Prodigal Son from the Bible really bothers me. I get what it means in the biblical sense, but in every day life this is what happens, you have a sibling that doesn't care if your parents are alone and hungry and everybody else (plus your own conscience) guilt-trips you into helping.
I think for the 3rd story, people are saying that the boy would get picked on but I'm just not sure that's true anymore. I (a teenager) have multiple friends, boys and girls btw, with "weird" names and the worst that has ever happened to them is their name being mispronounced, which happens to people with normal names as well. They've never been picked on or bullied because of their name.
All of this said, I think it was an a-hole move for the wife to just pick a name behind the husband's back. If your having a kid together, you should both agree on the name and be willing to compromise for each other and your kid. If the wife thought the name "Mune" was such a good idea, she should have tried to convince the husband not just pick it behind his back

Because I was one of 20 people with the same name in my school, I did decide to give my son an interesting first name, but a more normal first name....( If I'd had a girl it'd be something like Eclipse Mary) he ended up going by a nickname derived from his name that fit him well, but he likes his name and what goes with it. However if it'd been an issue, or he didn't like it, he could have gone by his middle name... Thankfully it worked out, but I took some precautions at least, and Dad was fully on board and involved in the naming. Mom could have talked about using her interesting name as a nickname , as Dad was not on board with it being the legal name

I know the anger of the thumbnail story a little. My nanny has two look after 4 grandchildren from 2 unmarried children by multiple fathers. One of them isn’t interested in their kid. My nanny was a Zulu woman who lived in poverty and had to support herself as a maid and nanny and kids when her husband got sent to prison for stealing. I felt it was her kids responsibility to look after their mother when she retired but instead they slept around and dumped their kids on her, and h the e kids weren’t all easy. Obviously it’s not ideal for energetic young boys in a poor neighborhood without their dads. Then she got gangrene in her foot from diabetes and was too scared to have it amputated. Her kids let her die. Now I don’t even know what’s happened to the babies who’ve lost their parent and have to be dealt with their careless bio parents. No doubt the youngest child (my playmate) who had her university funded by my parents, will be expected to pay for everything, having a decent job and no kids. Hope they don’t drag her down. It really ticks me off. And she didn’t even tell me she was dying. I’m just glad I told her I loved her

In the very first story, her mom should be ashamed of herself for even having a favorite child, and your favorite child being completely worthless too. On top of all of that her mom literally took the $2000 in which her daughter so graciouslyy gave her only to turn around and give it to her lamme son. The mom owes her daughter a very big apology. Now how is the family going to tell her what she can do with her own money. The mom should ask her favorite son for money from now on, and I can't even believe that the aunt actually called her niece that. In the second story, she should tell Laury that is time for her to step and be a mom to her kids.
