How could anyone be sad around you.The joy of the Lord is moving through you like a energizer bunny.I watched this before my morning jolt of caffeine :-) & might not need it now LOL.Great tips Godbless
Thank you so much for this video. I came back to the Lord after a time running away.....and I bought a bible now....and this gave me also ideas. Greetings and blessings from Germany
Greatly and immensely blessed! One of my friends forwarded your link to me and I have been watching since then! I watched most of your videos in one stretch! Its just so interesting and makes me want to enjoy life like you do! God Bless you and keep you dear girl!
How refreshing to know that there is a mom so passionate about the Bible in America teaching her kids to love God's word as well. Thank you so much for your video. It was a great encouragement to me and I did learn some neat tips from you about how to better study the Bible. I pray God blesses you and your family!
I LOVE the things you have talked about in here. I like how Kay Arthur has different colors or shapes for words, i did one of her studies. But i think the thing i love the most about this, is your idea for Scripture memory with your family. I am going to be getting my own photo album, i mean verse album, and getting started on that!! What a great idea!!!
I so needed this thank you so much! I have a hard time remembering the scriptures and so I get frustrated and feel like i'm doing something wrong. I am glad I found you site and youtube page. Looking forward to whats to come.
Courtney, I absolutely, positively loved this video. What great tips you shared! I jumped right on your Good Morning Girls site while I was listening to you. LOVE IT!!! So glad I found your channel tonight. Looking forward to learning more from you! ~ Blessings
Courtney, I wanted to let you know how much you've inspired me, both to begin making my own videos (yippie!), but also my daughter now has two different Good Morning Girls groups going. I'm not sure if she's signed up on your website yet, but she has a group at church of 5 girls and another with other friends who text / email every single morning after they spend time in the Word. Wishing you every blessing in Christ! ~ Brian
Totally helpful and amazing, Courtney, I confess I never thought of all the wonderful suggestions for Scripture study that you showed in your video. I guess I always thought that highlighting, marking, etc., the Bible, was disrespectful or something along those lines (no pun intended), but I love your suggestions; thanks so much. Joe
I just started on my path. I find that gel high lighters work good. However, I like the tip of the other ones better! I love the idea of using colored pencils though! I will be checking out your other videos and websites. Thank you so much for sharing!
Great video, thank you for the advice. I am starting my home school journey as well as family bible study, I'm nervous but I know it's all best for my family :) I love that your Bible is falling apart, it shows that you actually use it :)
I usually have my quiet time in the mornings - often times I am following my Bible Reading plans from "Good Morning Girls". I also like to use the app - YouVersion while I'm putting on my make-up and fixing my hair - I have it read the Bible out loud to me. Often in the evenings, I do my deeper study - like reading commentaries or other resources.
12 years later, still watch your videos. I, too, am covering my Bible with (green) highlighter to remind me to watch my tongue. Praise God, because He's really helping me!
Start with prayer when approaching Bible studies, because you want God's Spirit to teach you and lead into all truth. So stay prayerful in knowing the difference between error and truth. Rid all distractions and people that may knock you off focus. Grab trusted translations because most modern bibles are paraphrased and nullified of original meaning in words to make it dictionary based. Nevertheless the Greek meanings has the same definitions as our English words. Repetitiously read the passage intently and prayerfully. Prayer is essential to your bible study like air is essential to your lungs. The Lord want us to know Him in truth, and even worship Him in Spirit and truth. Read the text prayerfully and diligently to find out the meaning and full flow of thought that ties the whole chapter together. In this you will discover its context. The context can be a few chapters back or in the beginning of the chapter. When knowing the background in the text you will discover the theme of whats taking place in that chapter. The overall theme of that book is in the beginning of that book ( the bible comprises of 66 books - OT the Torah, historical books, prophetic books, and poetry. NT- the Gospels accounts, Acts of the Apostles, Epistles to the Churches, and revelations) So wherever you studying, the beginning of that book is the introduction and everything else is supporting the text you reading. Study the word meanings, because they produce color and depth to your study. The words in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek are very telling and graphic. Do a thorough word research on them to grasp their origin and culture use, and how the original hearers interpret the context of those phrases, imagery, which illustrations help them. Bible dictionaries are helpful and concordances, lexicons, biblical places and people encyclopedia. Culture is very important we have to acknowledged their customs, traditions, beliefs, religions, social barriers, etc. When a reporter is send out to observe a area, they will not only sympathize, but empathize with them and their struggles. Its easy to go by the news, and other ways to conclude and just classify a people who you don't know very well. Its easy to judge, when you never experience. Geography is a useful tool to understand what locations are, and where the people travel to get place to place. Their source of transportation and how far they've walked, and routes they took. Were there steep mountain terrains, smooth plain, water banks, deserts, forest or fords with dangerous animals lurking there. The locations are very important to note when studying the bible. Without the help of Gods Spirit you can do nothing! Knowing who God is and His attributes, you can better know His character traits in His dealing with humanity falling nature. The only way we can know and be known by Him is through His Son Jesus Christ. In your reply we will discuss the Gospel in truth, because it links every doctrine in the bible to it.
WOW! This was an AMAZING and THOROUGH video! I got some GREAT ideas for how I can make my studying better! I'm sooo glad I found your video and I'm about to go visit your site! Thank you for this video!!! :)
Thank you, Courtney! You are such a blessing to me and my Saint Joe MI girlfriends! You are filling a void as Queen Esther did for such a time and place as this xoxo Jenny

This is taken from our definition at GoodMorningGirls.org What does S.O.A.P. mean? S- The S stands for Scripture- you physically write out the scripture……you’ll be amazed that what God will reveal to you just by taking the time to slow down and actually write out what you are reading! O- The O stands for observation- what do you see in the verses that you’re reading. Who is the audience? Is there a repetition of words? What words stand out to you? A- The A stands for Application- this is when God’s Word becomes personal. What is God saying to me today? How can I apply what I just read to my own personal life? What changes do I need to make? Is there an action that I need to take? P- And finally P stands for Prayer. Pray God’s Word back to Him. If He has revealed something to you during this time in His Word, pray about it. Confess if He has revealed some sin that is in your life.
+Melissa Hollywood Awwww - thank you! I hope to make more soon but the fall season leading up to the holidays is always incredibly busy in my home with homeschooling and the kids activities. I don't foresee many videos this fall - but in the new year - I am sure there will be many more! xoxoxox

Thank you for sharing your tips on Bible study with us! I've been looking for videos like this to help me start family devotion time at our home. What is the name of the Bible you use for reading with your children? I need a Bible like that to help challenge my children in studying God's word. Thanks in advance :)
Hi Courtney I wondered how long do you study for if you don't mind me asking? I know you are a busy wife, mom plus working in your ministries, blogging and everything else you do. When do you study? In the AM, PM, anytime you are moved to do so? Do you set a timer or you just go with the flow? I know sometimes I can get into the scriptures and look up and like 2-3 hours have past by. Not that you mind spending that time with GOD. Just wondered. I loved all your tips and ideas helping me already.
so true what you say about cheap price on the bibles. you are so lucky. here you pay atleast 40 dollar for the most cheap bible. talk about the Netherlands. i wish i bought me a couple $1,00 bibles when i was in usa.
You have to learn to separate the teachings of Jesus from the uncensored historical documentation that is the writings of various unknown contributors to the book. You don't need to interpret, you just need to learn to discern before you adopt the wrong tactic of labeling something as being degenerate. Would you feel better if those offending passages were censored? Are you aware of them having a literal triggering effect upon modern American Christians? How genuine is your beef john Hamill ?
I use GoodMorningGirls(dot)org - we are about to start a series in Colossians - hope you'll join us- we do videos and provide free bible reading plans and study guides! It's fun! We have a youtube channel at GoodMorningGirls1 :)
Jesus: “But when he, the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into ALL the truth” John 16:13 AFTER his resurrection, “Then HE opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures” Luke 24:45. Paul: “the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is NOW disclosed” Colossians 1:26 Mysteries are condensed in Romans - Jude (letters): ONLY 96 PAGES! If you seek truth, enter HIS presence by faith. Read HIM in the letters, 10 pages per day, til mysteries are in YOU.

I started with Psalms because it tells me how to pray and what to pray for, and the nature of God.

I start my Bible study with Matt 5:19, because it says that Paul will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
This lady is special woman. Every husband would like a whife like her.
I use GoodMorningGirls(dot)org - we are about to start a series in Colossians - hope you'll join us- we do videos and provide free bible reading plans and study guides! It's fun! We have a youtube channel at GoodMorningGirls1 :)
'Sorry, my Bible is falling apart'. Lol not a bad thing 😉
Jesus: “But when he, the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into ALL the truth” John 16:13
AFTER his resurrection, “Then HE opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures” Luke 24:45.
Paul: “the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is NOW disclosed” Colossians 1:26
Mysteries are condensed in Romans - Jude (letters): ONLY 96 PAGES!
If you seek truth, enter HIS presence by faith. Read HIM in the letters, 10 pages per day, til mysteries are in YOU.
I apologize. That was mean.
I have a tip: invest in a premium leather Bible. Buy a Bible that will last for decades, not for two years.
It's funny but athiests do the exact same thing, only replacing religious tracts with quotes or science articles.
Lol
