    Thanks. I'm German so I LIVE for Christmas! We spend 6 months celebrating it and the next 6 months planning for it. ;-)

    I love that you put your finger in the glue, made a cute reference to balls and then apologized for it, and didn't like the last set of cranberries so just ripped it off. So real!

    Used to make these with fabric ribbon in the 1990's but the stores don't sell it anymore. Thank you for the detailed directions on how to make these with fabric. Your suggestions are so helpful. Thank you.

    I don't know your profession, but you're an excellent teacher! I've watched all of your craft videos and enjoyed each one. The only one I find a little difficult is the crocheted snowflake. That's because I'm just learning to crochet, not because the instructions aren't clear. I'm going to try it soon. Thank you for the lessons.

    I haven't made these in years. They are so pretty and so simple to do. FYI They can also be made using 1" wide, fairly stiff ribbon cut into 2" lengths. I just love your videos. I have to say you are a born teacher.

    Thank you so much for your video. I have been making round quilted ornaments from my local quilt shop. But was not aware of the pine cone ornaments. They are so lovely. Great tip with the glue!
    You are a wonderful teacher!

    Thank you. I tend to like things that look fussy but aren't necessarily fussy to make. It's all in the details which if you're going to spend 20 minutes making something, may as well spend another 5 to kick it up a notch!

    OMG, I never saw these before. Guess Ive been under a rock, but this is so addictive. I have made over 50 so far. Just went to hobby lobby this morning and purchased 60 more eggs of all different sizes. Now Ive even started doing this in two tone fabrics. My fingers are callused over from pushing in the pins. They are going to look wonderful hanging on my stairway.TFS.

    Cute idea.. I think ironing the squares into the shape needed ahead of time would save time.. especially if making more than one, which I think most would do if doing these. Like the fabric idea more than the paper one I saw

  • @galemckiddy5120
    @galemckiddy5120 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    It helps a lot if you iron your fabric first so you are not battling the wrinkles as you work. Your work also looks much smoother.

  • @croutoncrackerjacks

    That, they would. You can do the same thing using round balls and there is a way to fold the last square so all edges are turned under and also hide the pins in the corners if you wish to go that route.

    And they were absolutely beautiful. For the first ornament exchange, I made Christmas balls using this technique. I only made 3 or 4 though as I like to change up my ornaments. Fantastic job and I love mine.

    Those pinecones are adorable! and even I could make these! I just love Christmas, and having a few new items each year is so much fun. I can't make the elaborate things I used to be able to do each year, husband bedridden, but THIS I can do.
    Thank you so much for the video, I have so wanted a small project, and this is the first that really got to me. I tend to want to go wild with Christmas ornaments. They're really nice, and take little room to make. Just Darling!

  • @croutoncrackerjacks

    A fat quarter is a quarter yard of fabric. They're sold as-is instead of having to be cut off the bolt. As well, they are twice as wide (where the 'fat' part comes from) as a normal 1/4 yard. A 1/4 yard that is cut off the bolt is 9" wide and 44" long whereas a fat quarter is 18" wide but 22" long (basically a 1/2 yard cut in half width wise instead of length wise). It's a good way to buy a bunch of different fabrics instead of having to wait for a store associate to cut all of them.

  • @croutoncrackerjacks
    @croutoncrackerjacks  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Once you get into a groove, they go rather quick. I could get all the fabric folded and pinned in 15 minutes without ever putting the styrofoam egg down after doing a couple. And no meaning in the numbers. I tried finding tags that would look good with them and had no luck until I found a piece of scrapbooking cardstock with the 25 days of Christmas on it. So I cut each 'day' out and made them into tags!
