I’m so impressed with your fitting and what great patterns. I only found your channels 3 days ago and have been binge watching. Love what you do and your lovely relaxed manner. Thank you. Xx
@@annebishop4976 thanks Anne. Appreciate the feedback. I think I'm a little wooden, but hopefully this year I'll get into my stride more. Got lots of ideas bursting to come out!! ❤️
Oh nooooo only 1 more vid in the series. I will have withdrawal symptoms after 😢. I have thoroughly enjoyed this mini series Kim. You are my favourite sewer on Utube
They all fit very well. I have trouble with elastic waists, whether all elastic or flat front/elastic back, because they just bunch up and look too gathered. I may be over-compensating for the fact that my hip is a size bigger than my waist, but I have to make sure the waist goes over my hips to get them on. This is why I went back to zip front with the Upland trousers. I do like those Seaforth Pants though.
@@stash_stitcher The Upland fly method was really easy to understand. I did a zip fly on a skirt last year and it was OK but didn't include a fly shield at the back so I had to fudge adding one which wasn't too much of a bother as it turned out. I hadn't done a fly zip in many, many years.
@Yorkygirl59 thanks Diane. I need to push my boundaries this year. Probably what we all do really. This is going to be a great year. Good luck with your channel ❤️😘
Hi Kim, I think trousers are the most difficult garments to make. I tried twice and failed miserably. I don't like the latest fashion for flares, we've been there 😅
Your video today was perfect timing I just cut out some pant patterns Today, I have cut out 2 pairs in two styles with elastic waist in navy and black Ponte They are styles very similar to each other, but no zip pocket its a side like yours it's a cut away at the top you add to the front as separate pieces. There's likely a name, lol I'm looking forward to seeing how I like them. One is butterick 6865. The other one is McCall's 8447 Both straight leg ,no elastic at bottom for me either But they both were recommended as good comfortable fitting can be casual or more dressed up depending on fabric I usally Don't sew pants I buy them but wanted to try casual pants to start Yours looked great, so very encouraging, and I am inspired to see how it goes Thank you again I'm looking forward to seeing more Happy sewing 👗 ✂️ 🪡 🧵 💓
@@joannebanks2147 thanks Joanne. I probably sew the Seaforth pants over and over again as I love the look and fit of them, but I need to branch out. I'll check out those patterns you mentioned, but I do have a few pants patterns in my stash so maybe I'll look at those as well. ❤️
You've done well to master the fit of 2 pants patterns. Every time I sew up a pair, my size changes. I've decided I either have to get rid of a complete wardrobe of nice clothes or loose weight. It's ridiculous. Love your video.
@@kathymcconville6428 thanks Kathy. I started the diet today 😕 so hopefully by summer my clothes will fit better, otherwise I'll be making a new wardrobe 😔❤️Why wasn't I born a string-bean? 🤣🤣
Love, love, love all of the seaforth trousers that you have made. You wouldnt recognise that they are from the same pattern as you have chosen lovely fabrics. Im off to buy the pattern.... by the way can I ask you if your trousers from the suiting material has shrunk at all, as when I made myself some trousers from suiting they shrank in the wash although I pre-washed them?
@@janetbowers-dl3fu thanks Janet. I've been lucky with my fabrics not shrinking, though I'd say there is definitely some tightening of the fibres initially after a wash and once I've got my trousers on they relax after an hour's wear. I think the fibres just relax! ❤️
