The Star Ocean cartridge had a SNES Special Chip insider of the cartridge The game required a special compression chip in its cartridge to compress and store all of the game's data due to possessing graphics that pushed the limits of the aging Super Famicom. It's called the S-DD1, similar to a Super FX chip, or SA1, or the DSP, or the Cx4 in the megaman x2 and x3...
Of the 5,000 SNES game library, only like 60 of them used special chips.
The Super NT is not programmed to emulate these chips yet, so you would need the physical cartridge. Here is a list off all the chips and the games: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Super_NES_enhancement_chips#List_of_Super_NES_games_that_use_enhancement_chips

Yeah, the most common chips are as follows:
      SA-1: Kirby's Dream Land 3, Kirby's Super Star
Super FX 1 and 2, etc
I don't know if support will ever be added for any chips.

Is it just the compression from TH-cam or do they not look as good when you use the jailbreak? I don't have those games yet that your testing so it could be that I haven't seen them in person yet.

Does it matter if we have the SD card with both firmware and SNES folder, or just the firmware file?

the_randomizer you could probably have the firmware and snes folder on the sd card for the firmware update but you’d want to remove the firmware file after you’re done with the update.

Yeah, another video showed both firmware and Snes ROM folder on the SD card, but yes, the GitHub page does specifically say to remove the firmware after flashing it. Thanks for the reply :P

Any trouble with saves getting deleted? I could not consistently keep saves.

Paul chester if you exit the game by going to the menu (select + down) your save game is placed in a directory on the sd card and available the next time you play. If you just shut the console off you’ll lose the save game.

8bitredcat I must need to try something else. I save and go back to the menu. I’ve even tried going all the way back where the Turrican games are. When I go into the game again, the save is sometimes there and sometimes not.

Paul chester I didn’t see any issues with saves but keep in mind this is day 1 of the first firmware release. Keep your eyes on github.com/SmokeMonsterPacks/Super-NT-Jailbreak for updates and issues.

I also couldn't save properly the first time and the second time I went into the menu and back to the NT menu a few times...entered some subfolders... whatever I did worked but we need a clear video guide on this.
