    PD designs and makes their own zippers, Very high quality, some of the best on the market, many think even better than YKKs. PD is known for their high quality metal hardware and clips. Happy Travels!

      i think the Aer TP3 is heavier

    • @cafeapaka7501
      @cafeapaka7501 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I like the Aer but it is a bit heavier - they have an Aer small which is 28L. The Aer is good if you like a bit more admin pockets in the front of the pack. I think it would be best to try on both to get a good feel and fit. My spouse who is 5’2 and 110 pounds loves the Peak Design 30L as its default is actually 27L and fits her frame - the Aer was another choice but fully packed for her was not as comfortable although the Aer has a thicker suspension system (harness) for me I am 6’1 and 180 Pounds and I found both the Peak Design and Aer 28L to be comfortable fully packed out - I use the Peak Design regularly as I can stow the harness and carry it like traditional luggage - my travels have me moving from cabs to oddly fitting vehicles so the ability to stow the pack neatly is a plus.

      do you feel that this one of 45L is too big for daily use not just for travelling?

    • @ronnybergmann
      @ronnybergmann 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Complicated question. I have a messenger for everyday use, and use the Everyday 30L sometimes for shopping or shorter things, but that might also be me just having too many Peak Design things. Shopping I could also do with the 45 for sure. In daily use, I am fine with the 13L of the messenger.

Delta, American and United have carry on dimension limits of 9"x14"x22" (Southwest allows slightly larger). According to PD's site, the Travel Backpack 30L expanded dimensions are 7.9"x13.4"x20.9".

    I just got this pack, but when putting it on top of my rolling suitcase, I'm pretty dubious about it passing as a personal item. It's only about 2/3 the size of the roller! Mind you, I only see a problem IF you're also bringing a true carryon size bag. If not, then it wouldn't matter anyway if the gate agent thinks it's a carryon or personal item. My roller is smaller than your Monos so maybe the visual effect is less "big bag/small bag" and more like "hey, she's got two carryons!" I'm just a little worried about this combo hmmm

    • @tejananda

      The numbers and reality are different things in the airports and airlines. For example I learned that Airbaltic lets you go 1kg over the on-hold luggae weight limit (23kg) and easyjet is okay with 1.5-2kg over the limit (20kg). Every airport and airline is different. But when boarding they only react to obvious things that they can confirm with first glance.

      I’ve seen others get pulled aside. I’m quite petite too. I can’t remember all the airlines I’ve flown, but definitely Spirit, Frontier, Delta, United, Avelo, JetBlue and probably some more.

    can you fit it under an airplane seat?

    • @SharingtheRoad
      @SharingtheRoad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! We've been able to fit it under airplane seats no problem. It's helpful when it's compressed to slide in easy, but it could probably fit well even if it was expanded. The only time we had difficulty putting it under the seat in front of us was on a small propeller plane we just took island hopping in Greece, as it was a small plane, and for some reason there were metal bars that cut off half the underseat space (so I don't think many other personal items would have fit either).
      We've been very pleased with the bags, and they have been our go-to under-the-seat personal item on countless flights. Hope it helps! :)

    Osprey is better. I tested both. The new FairPoint 40 2022. The laptop issue has been fixed. The airflow padding on the back and straps is just amazingly compared to Peek design. Peek design main problem remains the back padding (almost inexistent which is a big no for a 45 l backpack!) and the thin straps. Everyone complains about that yet Peek design completely ignores them for years. Osprey is also half of the price!
