Much appreciated. I was in the last part of my installation of the Morimoto XB's on my 2018 Raptor last night. Their instructions call for using fuse location #113. Funny because there is no #113 position. I also appreciated your showing the fuse change with whatever position one ends up using. This is critical and also not pointed out by Morimoto. Thanks to your video everything went fine with the fuse tap for the DRL's. Thank you.

Excellent video. Thank you especially for the tip on the ecoboost and need to switch the fuse slot to plug into. Lights were staying on 20+ minutes after leaving vehicle. Manufacturer did not include that important piece of information. THANK YOU!

Fantastic video. Just installed new Morimoto gen 2’s on my F150 today by myself and used this video as a guide. Came out perfect. Thanks so much for the content. 🤙🏻

I have a 2020 F-150 with a 2.7 ecoboost there is no way I could ever take my Truck to a Drive In with the DLR’s sometime they shut right off , other times 10 minutes. Is there a way wire them to shut off when the trucks in park?

@realtruck So I have a 2020 F-150 ecoboost. And just bought a pair of the new Gen 2 Morimoto xb Amber DRL LED. Should I also tap into fuse #37? And switch the 10 amp fuse for the 25 amp in the fuse tap?

Love your install video. I'm confused on which fuse amp should I use #36 10 amp or #37 25 amp? All other videos show them using the 10 amp but you're using the 25 amp because you have the EcoBoost. So do I. Should I be using the 25 amp as well?
    Thanks DD

If you have an EcoBoost, the #36 fuse stays powered up for a while after the truck is turned off, that's why you would use the #37 fuse, otherwise the daytime running lights will stay on for about 30 minutes after you shut off the truck. If you're concerned about the 25 vs 10 amp fuses, don't be. Hope that helps!

Thank you for your response. I received email from Morimoto and she states use fuse 16 for a EcoBoost. Which I have 2.7 V6 EcoBoost. So now I'm confused. I certainly don't want to do something wrong and I'm trying to do this by myself. But I have purchased and watched videos from RealTruck. So I'm asking you since your doing the video and the email is from Morimoto customer service...does using fuse #16 sound right or fuse #37?
      Thank you for your help

Did you ever figure out which one worked better? I'm trying to figure out the same thing on my 2020 F-150 ecoboost.@@donnelldoyle5340

    What fuse would I put mine in if I have a 5.0 2018 f150?

    • @Realtruck
      @Realtruck  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You would want to use the #36 fuse since yours is not EcoBoost. Hope that helps!

I have a 2021 Ford F-150 with a 301A package and halogen headlights. I would like to change the assembly (lens) from the halogen to LED and i have been looking at Morimoto. Does Morimoto a good light? would i have any trouble while driving at night or is it bright? I was also looking at ALpha Rex, which one would you recommend?

I’ve had my Morimoto headlights since Dec 2018, they are amazing. Brighter than stock led headlights

Is there any way to turn these things off? When I switch my lights to OFF they come on super bright and even thr interior gets super bright

Hey Justin, we agree, Morimoto headlights are super bright, and if you have Daytime Running Lights, you might not be able to turn them off without special programming. We recommend making sure the headlights are properly aimed because if the beam pattern is too high, it can be blinding to oncoming traffic. If the truck has been lifted of leveled, you probably need to re-aim the lights. The rule of thumb is to have the beams 2 inches lower than the bulbs at 25 feet, but it's good to fine tune that angle after a road test. Hope that helps!

I installed these a few days ago, I’m also having the same issue. 2 issues actually.
First issue- The stock light switch on my truck (2019 XLT) has 4 light settings..
      - OFF -DRLS- Low Beams - Automatic.
I switch my lights to OFF and the DRLS actually shine brighter than they do when I have the switch set to DRL only. I haven’t found a way to turn them OFF while the truck is running. In fact, the ONLY way for my lights to turn off completely is when the engine is not running and I have the light switch on AUTO. Having it on OFF, keeps them on EVEN while ignition is OFF and truck is locked. Is this normal? Are they meant to do that? I followed all install procedures step by step down to the fuse and tried a couple different ones, all less effective than the one recommended (fuse 36)
Second issue: There is a loud CLICK noise that comes from the fuse box whenever the lights turn on for the first time after being completely off
AND every time I engage the high beams.
In summary, I just want to have control over when my lights are on and off as well as find a solution or fix for the clicking.
On a side note- I love the lights, I got the amber DRLs and they are absolutely phenomenal! Will be changing my tail lights out soon as well 💪🏽
