Honestly, having a built-in GPS without offline music playback defeats the purpose for some people, and for me specifically. I prefer going on a run having earbuds in my ears with some music. None of the new Fitbit devices provide such functionality after the 3rd party apps were cut. Really disappointing that google decided to cut features from Fitbit just to promote Google Watch basically.
The only complaint I have about the charge 5/6 is the quick settings menu. Some things like the HR broadcasting should be in the settings app. It feels very random to what’s in there vs what needs to be in there
@@ConnectTheWatts Wondering if I'm missing something cause I think this would be a dealbreaker for me on buying the new Charge 6 if it didn't include free sleep tracking - but the Charge 6 features page seems to indicate only a Sleep Profile requires premium, but that Sleep Tracking / Stages and a Sleep score are still available on the free version.
Although I am not a fitness buff. I do like to keep track of my steps ,heart, oxygen due to a stroke I had 8 yrs.ago. I work as a ground operator at the airport and it is physcial work but I had couple of close calls with my Apple Ultra and I just don't want to take a chance. Can you honestly recommend a durable watch that has these features but can take a bit of a beaten???
I have a charge 4 right now but i'm upgrading to the charge 6 around january, the main reason i want to upgrade is because i use youtube music and that i'd also like an AOD on my watch. I do think this is a great review for the watch!
This seems awesome, but with no Spotify controls it probably will kill it for me... I tried TH-cam music and really didn't like it... Such a shame because the formfactor looks great
PEOPLE ! Never ever buy these new watches when they first come out. Wait at least 6 months. Then listen to reviewers and more important their COMMENTS. Charge 5 had some serious problems like screen freeze (with no home button) and constantly lost connection. Not alone on this. Went back to Charge 4, at least it's reliable. I'll have another look spring/summer. 🤔
How accurate are the new h/r sensors when it comes to tracking calories burned? That's my main concern and what I mainly try to track. I originally had a Charge 5 when I started taking better care of my health, but moved to a Versa 4 due to the larger screen. However, that seemed to be wildly inconsistent and inaccurate when it came to tracking calories burned, so I decided to try my current Amazefit GTR 4. I find I'm running into the same problems though, and similar workouts can produce wildly differing results for calories burned. Plus, since I work on the heavy bag a lot (probably my favorite form of exercise), I find that having the protruding button on the side can be a hinderance as it often gets pushed in by my gloves and ends the workout tracking prematurely. Even though I'd be going back to a smaller screen, if the Charge 6 is more consistent and accurate when it comes to recording calories burned I'd probably move over to it.
The calories burned is still wildly inaccurate. I'm not sure what algorithms they use to calculate it because the steps seem very accurate. I would say the main error is how it calculates calories burned when you select an exercise to track. It said I burned over 800 calories during my weight lifting sessions which is wild. I would imagine if I paused the tracking between sets it would be a better depiction.
Tuve el Fitbit Charge 1, 2, 3, 4 y 5. El GPS del 5 me colmo la paciencia, y por lo que veo nisiquiera lo mejoraron en el 6. La mejor decision que tome, irme a Garmin.
I would suggest to set it to ONLY use the built-in GPS. Haven’t had issues with inaccuracies, since. I think it has issues when in dynamic mode, trying to use the phones or the watches and figuring out which to use. This connects to my iPhone 15 beautifully. I just want a fitness tracker. No fancy features. The only thing I wish they would improve is the time needed to use the EDA scanner. Also, notifications don’t always reach my watch but I’m using it for fitness mainly, so it’s not a deal breaker for me
yes you can save every workout though I would recommend setting up the integration with a Free Strava account as its easier to keep your workouts there (it will auto save for both). Not sure about the band, since its not dirty yet.
Im pretty sure it tracks it by your heart rate. Dont quote me on that, but if ur steps are increasing a lot when ur driving ur either an anxious driver, or its actually being inaccurate lol.
i'm not buying charge 6, my charge 5 worked only just over a year and battery died and expanded indicating cheap battery quality. however my old charge 4 is still working well.
my Charge 4 died, the screen was very hard to read and then I made a mistake of sticking a paper clip through the little hole you see on the side.. that's when I read that hole was the altimeter and by pinning it , I totally kill the charge 4 -RIP, my below C4-
thats really tough... hmm I think I would choose the Apex 2 because I mostly listen to audio books when running (which Garmin doesn't support either), I like MIP displays, and because I think the app/training interface is better with COROS. But honestly its so close I'm not sure there's a wrong answer
That is something to consider as well, I do like a sapphire lens... definitely helps keep it in good condition. Otherwise the materials seem similar (as far as I remember)
I just bought a new Fitbit Charge 6 for my husband but I'm worried he won't be able to easily transfer his old Fitbit's data. Do you know if it's possible? I don't know if he registered with a google account ag the time..... 😕
If he had an email registered with fitbit he should be able to get the info. Not sure if you can get it from google if you didn't transfer your fitbit account to google.
The Charge 6 has better Heart Rate Accuracy during workouts. GPS I would call it a tie since Charge 6 needs some updating before Internal GPS is viable.
all Fitbits tend to overcount by a bit, depending on arm movement. For example, one time I was shoveling a hole, and despite not "walking" I accumulated thousands of steps (even though it was a lot of exercise). There's benefits and negatives to this approach of course, so it's not necessarily bad. But I can see specific occupations where the step count could be off
I have a garmin and fitbit and the fitbit sleep is more accurate and the sleep score is better. I can never get a high sleep score on the garmin. I'm lucky if I get 50 on garmin.
Is Fitbit Premium part of TH-cam Premium? I'm guessing it's a separate thing. Too bad seeing they're both part of Google. Would be nice if it was included all in one.

This review is nice, but a bit too impartial? First of all, I read many comments about the colorful but rather childish face designs, despite having 21 or 29 different faces, they are all too colorful and at times overly complicated, making them hard to read and not really sleek... I wish they had a few more conservative faces like the Charge 4 had, some plain black and white, maybe, or allow users to customize the colors? or even the data displayed on it. On this line, I feel a major screw-up is the lack of dual zone faces: most of us travel overseas, and having a watch face with two (or even three !!) different time zones on display would make life so much easier... think about pilots and flight attendance who switch zones every day (though I imagine a pilot is wearing a Garmin with golf course mapping). The second strategic mistake, though obviously not for Google, is that now there's option to use a third-party music provider, like Spotify.. and you are forced to use youtube music (or not), it would have been smarter of Google to maintain Spotify but put it behind the premium paywall or maybe just maintain it a bit longer before phasing it out...by the way, can Google please remove the constant ad / banner to upgrade to premium ?! it's annoying and disruptive to have it popping every single time. The last one, which you also failed to mention is that stair count, is now gone, it used to be in Charge 4, I do walk up and downstairs a lot, and knowing how many floors I exercised was a nice stat to have (more than the preparedness for sport you mentioned). So long story short, for me 1) the lack of sleek faces and their customization is something I wish Google had worked on more, 2) keeping the Spotify on would have been nice, 3) please add the stairs count back on (unless Google removed the altimeter and 4) lastly please remove the PERMANT prompt to premium... irritating.
