I REALLY Wanted To Like This Thing, But The Kukirin G4 Is Not It (For Me)

- Just like many of you, I wanted to like this scooter so badly. On paper this scooter seems great! In reality, it left a lot to be desired. This single motor, 60 volt, 2000 watt electric scooter was supposed to propel me up to 40mph, but it could barely hit 39 downhill with a full charge. Suspension bottomed out left and right, the brakes were mushy, bars were short, and you can forget about hills. Watch the video to see what I'm talking about.
I think if you were in the market for a 40mph scooter, this one would leave you disappointed. However, if you were shopping for a 25-30mph scooter that just so happened to have the capability of going slightly faster to escape traffic danger, this one might work. I think it would work best for riders between 120-170lbs. 5' - 5'9". For me though, 6'2", 230lbs, this scooter painted a frowny face on my mouth.

I weigh about 220 pounds and love this scooter. If you adjust the brakes and the suspension is great. He said it's a super cheap scooter but in my country we get 600 dollar salary per month.. I worked for 4 months to buy this scooter and I was happy like a little kid!
Ive had this scooter for 3 weeks now and weigh 190lbs and 6ft tall and absolutely love it. I see absolutley no negatives at all with it like you are stating with suspension nor brakes after I adjusted everything to my riding weight and height. You are the only one I have found that has so many negatives towards this scooter. This scooter is solid, rides solid, turns solid, and overall performs much more than the cost of the scooter in my total honest opinion. For a single motor with my weight it takes off like dynamite and climbs hills like a friggin goat. And for you to actually recommend this to teenagers just shows you have no legit knowledge how huge the weight difference of a rider plays into these scooters. Dude you weigh alot!!!!! Of course your gonna need beefy high performance dual motors. A 120lb teenager doesnt and WILL KILL THEMSELVES ON THIS SCOOTER! I have 2 teenage sons and would never let them ride this until they are older. You need to realize some people are much lighter than you and this single motor scooter will perform just fine and check all the boxes you are not because they are so much lighter than you.
Finally, someone saying something mature in this whole comment section.
This, how did you change the suspension? Do you just turn the 'gears'?
How about the off-roading capabilities? I'm 6"1, 170lbs looking to do some fun aggressive off-roading in the video it barely makes up a small hill... I understand that there is a weight diff but my inokim ox goes 4x faster up steeper dirt hills while having a smaller motor, in other reviews I've noticed the same problem people just not talking about off-roading with this scooter at all, yes most other reviews are only positives but keep in mind that kukirin sends these scooters out to them for free so opinion is a lil based.
@bearsarecute1822 If you are getting a scooter strictly for off road go with a dual motor 100%. The G4 can handle off road no worries on flat ground with moderate elevation changes, but if it's off road with hard climbs you seek, go Dual Motor.
I weigh about 220 pounds and love this scooter. If you adjust the brakes and the suspension is great. He said it's a super cheap scooter but in my country we get 600 dollar salary per month.. I worked for 4 months to buy this scooter and I was happy like a little kid!
I appreciate all your efforts! 💯👍
So glad you ALWAYS do an honest and unbiased review.
Yeah not for me too! I'm so glad I held off buying this scooter especially after your review. Every other review on this made it look super awesome, but you tell the truth! I knew the brakes were going to be no good but had no clue how weak the suspension is and how top speed diminishes. You would think you would get better for a 60v battery. The controller must be low amps. Dual motor is truly the only way to go. I feel so stoked to have a Vsett 10+! That scooter is a dream! Thanks for the great review Ginge!
And as for the teenagers, the G2 Max is plenty with its single 1000w motor. It's lighter and goes plenty fast. In fact, I have set it to 50% for my 12 year old daughter and she loves it. Way better suspension too.
Biased review
appreciate the honesty!
Informative and relevant 👍 love your STYLE OF FILM MAKING
Honest and detailed review!! You saved me from buying G4 as I now will look for a dual motor e-scooter 😅
im wondering if u checked the p settings for the max potential, cuz i was thinking about this scooter
Ginger random ? I have a new wolf king gtr with 5 hours on it and when I ride when I turn right I hear pinging like the rotor is rubbing a bit but I can’t see it because I’m riding. Have you noticed this on yours ? It’s the front tire and only when I turn right
Can someone link g3pro steer damper? Theres plenty dampers on alli, but lack of information if it fit to kukirin drives me crazy
How can I get the upgraded rear suspension for the wolfking gf shipped to Canada?
Thank you so much for a honest and very goood video. I was wondering if I did a misstake ordering a Laotie T30. I think im good! :)
How do you feel this compares to the 2023 emove cruiser s
Thank God I dodged the bullet on this one. I can't believe you still haven't had your hands on the Teverun Blade GT+II or their Fighter 11,Mini Pro etc. Those I heard are good 60V scooters but, how good? Kukirins are good to get your foot wet but, you'll quickly want to upgrade soon as you get them if you're over 85kg so, what's the point?
Hey G I almost watch all your videos about the scooter but I never see you Review Apollo scooter I wonder why ?
Just wondering if there's a way to loosen the stirring on it. It seams really tight. Any help would be gladly appreciated.
The steering was really loose on the scooter for me. But if yours is tight you might want to look at the video I did on how to loosen the steering bearings on the Varla eagle scooter. It might be the same mechanism inside.
Id like to know what you think of the zondoo zu10.
I’m fiddling between getting a talaria mx3, and a scooter. I don’t know what to expect with the scooters
Fast should be always paired with quality, they went with the industrial look as an excuse to attach wheels to a brick
If he adjust the brakes and suspension no problem
G4 MAX is the real deal this is cheaper version
I'm loving my Leoout SX10 it's very basic but packs a punch for it's class and price.
Hello, great video, what can you say about the height of the steering wheel? Is it suitable for 186-187cm? What do you think ?
It'll be a little bit on the shorter side but still suitable probably. Not very comfortable for long rides but the battery isn't really big enough to go that far anyways
@@GingerOnWheels What is the difference between the first revision and the second? I recently bought the first revision? Are they critically different? what do you think ?
@@user-vg1bl1gs6v the first version has critical issues with speed wobbles, they reinforced the fork in the second version plus some other tweaks. The first version is extremely dangerous!
What are some recommendations for a first time scooter owner? Looking for something at least 30-45mph and under $1000. i’m 6ft 220. it’s a little overwhelming browsing Amazon not knowing which one to get or that would be good. I need 1-2k volts motor correct? Also like the 11ich tires .
thanks in advance
Kukurin g2 max.
@@Thatguy-dn8vf thanks . looks bad ass.
@875daily np it's work really well too speed goes up to 35m and about 22 miles range for someone like me (220 pounds) key start. Really good for what you Want. 1k volt motor as well
What about the Kukirin G4 MAX?
how much do you weigh?
Can you review it's bigger brother - Kukirin G4 Max? Yesterday I saw it in an e-scooter shop and it looks like a Vsett 11+ but a bit cheaper.
2x2000W motors, 60V35Ah battery, new 4 piston NUTT brakes and it weights 64kg :O
I tried standing on it and it had super plush suspension.
But I did not ride it. Would love to see you review it.
I would love to try that one, but I don't think it's available in the US, is it?
@@GingerOnWheels Don't know. But if other Kukirins are available then It's only a matter of time when G4 Max will be available.
Hey ginger i have a g2 max is it possible for me to get a dual motor for the front wheel (1000 x 2)?
It wont increase the top speed just the acceleration
@@justsomeguywithahugepens8940 oh k that's fine not looking for more speed but would this setup do better off-road or have a faster startup?
honestly, this still looks better overall then the g2 max , i weight about the same as you and i go at lower speed with the same hills degrees , im skepctial about the tyres but other then that i think it would be a good upgrade
i swear i was seeing a bunch of kukirins lately everywhere and i was wondering what the craze was, but that makes sense that their going for a more general consumer especially with the new g4
The new g4 does not disappoint this thing is not slow trust me
the bigger issue with the audience being able to see the screen is more framerate than anything else. 60fps and you dont get as much flicker
G4 or G2 master i don't know which one should i get ?
I would go for the g4 simply because it's less likely to go flat plus better breaks and bigger wheel and comparable specs
constantly with the max I had problems with inner tunes and breaks nonstop the matter would give more problems undoubtedly, would you want to want the master again after a issue?
Ty for the honest review, was thinking to buy it as upgrade from my ox hero but honestly it seems like the g4 has worse acceleration and worse off-road capabilities somehow even if the motor
is more powerful.
He's riding it like a child
dont forget that he is 150 kg
@@user-ur2dm8gu6q 230pounds is about 100kg
What helmet are you wearing Ginger?
The Gmax 420
Do all dual motor scooters just really kick when you hit the throttle? When I set mine to dual motor, I can ever so gently push the throttle, and as soon as it passes the dead zone and the controller sees voltage, the whole thing just jerks, like there's max torque sent to the front. It accelerates really smoothly on 1 motor.
No
Hi my G4 won't go 70km/h I don't know why but do you know?
if your wheight is above 70 kg th specs that the scooter is promising you is not them kukirin says that if you are lower than 70 kg the scooter can reach 70kmh
@@user-ut4be7im6e i am 68kg and i reach only 67km/h
Reminds me of taking hills on my emove cruiser lol.
now i know, max or master version of a kukirin scooter is always going to be the best quality!
Do you think the G2 Max is better than the G4 for a 5'6 130lb teanger?
@@Ruly_73no master>g4>g2max( i have g2 Max and i weight 95 pounds it still feels reallyyyyy slow)
THEY SHOULD HAVE PUT THE 11 INCH TIRES ON THE G3 PRO
So G2 Master is better than this G4?
Yes. Imo
is this the best quality u can get for 900 dollars???
Slows down may be because it recognizes the slope and does not overload the engine. And still, it seems to me that 15-17mph is enough to climb the hill
Unfortunately this is just the nature of single motor scooters. They don't really have a lot of torque uphill. Especially for heavier riders like me.
Hi bro i hope you will review also the yume swift entry level in there line up and cheap price for the spec people will love to watch that in your channel compering to kukirin G series hope you will see my comment thanks
There is a beast from kukirin g4 max 2x1600w i want to see that review
There's really no advantage to single motor scooters at this point. They saved what maybe 5 lbs of weight and $50 for the motor but in return it's unbearably slow. Just make everything dual motors that is the main advantage of scooters over other two wheel rides.
lol the max excel looks like the first gear on my wolf king 😂 single motor ofc but you pay for what you get thou with this stuff great vid as always G always fun seeing you on different rides!
Also scary thing had happen my wolf king GTR came undone to and folded down on me mid ride the pin snapped out of place somehow going down a bumpy street and everything went down luckily it was beside some grass so everything including myself was fine but still.. even the most $$$ scooters gonna have issues 😂
what are the laws where you are located that you can go that fast and not be pulled over? Everyone I've been you're limited to a top speed near 20mph, must stay on road (no sidewalks) or risk being stopped by police.
Actually the slow acceleration from the start is a safety feature, its dangerous
I agree with the “safety” comment. Single motor scooters have the danger of wheelie-ing even at 500 watts, depending on amps inputted. I had an old NanRobot X-4 (500 watt, 48 volt) that dumped me off the back a FEW times😅
You have too adjust the torque im the p settings bud.
can u tell me how
I wanted to buy this but now i see the flaws haha kukirin always had weak motor and they still do bad motor or controller i dont know but all review i seen on youtube for kukirin i seen they cant go hills...
Next G4 max the beast
I want that scooter soooooo bad
to add on goin 30+ on a scooter thats under a grand just sounds sketch af to me lol. i have the isinwheel gt2 off road im pretty sure you did a review on that, it only goes 28 mph max. im also 150 lbs so i always get the max speed. that being said if it wasn't for its huge 11 inch wheels i probably would have gotten into an accident by now lol. those things are better suspension than the actual 'suspension' on it. i also randomly lost the folding clamp piece on the stem, it must have fallen off from shock impact while ridingXD. i'm smack talking my own scooter even tho i love it, its just not the safest i couldn't like to you, one day i'll upgrade for sure. i can't trust the kukirin g4 going that fast while having cheap components. you're gonna be at the hospital thinking you got what you paid for
i am 188 cm and weight 75kg (165lbs) and i am looking to buy kukirin g2 master or g4. I mostly drive on street rearly go off road. What do you recommend me ?
Master 100% in all situacions
nice
my brakes are superrrr powerful and def a bit wobbly at higher speeds. everyone is all over the place with this scooter. my speedo is also off and urs isnt. mad weird
Mine is off. My most recent video was a video comparing the speeds of a few of these Kukirin scooters. Speedo is off from GPS on all of them at some point.
Sounds like my Joyor scooter 😂. I enjoy it, but it’s nothing to write home about.
I'm glad so many people in the comments like the scooter. I stand with my statement though, I wouldn't buy this thing if you ride hard or are over 170lbs.
imgur.com/a/tq7ZJCE
what do u think its good for teenager thats 60kg and 1.70 cm i think g4 is better than g2 max
Ya this scooter would be fine for that. Just make sure to loctite all the bolts and frequently check the frame for cracks.
@@GingerOnWheels many people say the kukirin brand is breaking easily what do u think of that ?
@@GingerOnWheels and they say they are using cheap materials I’m asking u because i know u are expert about it
@@user-ur2dm8gu6q I can only tell you my experience, I haven't had any issues with any of them. but I can say of the 3 Kukirins I have, the G4 seems like the lowest build quality.
@@GingerOnWheels what scooter u think it’s best to get for 900-1000 dollars do I buy the g2 max have u tried it? I won’t buy the g2 master because I want it to have keys . I think getting a kaabo mantis 10 minimotors is it better than the g2 max can u give me some advice what scooter should I get ?Thank you for your time anyway u like u riding skills💪 keep it up
If anybody wants to send me a scooter or scooters to test I'll definitely get on TH-cam and test them through the city down country roads in the woods take it everywhere I can take it
In Bulgaria, this is the cheapest and fastest scooter you can find
Brake is really really important at this point you are risking your life 😢
you used to be my second favorite ginger r now that I’m divorced you’re my first love your contact. Thank you.
just adjust the brakes and suspension you will have no problems
lighting is also bad, buy extra headlights and put off-road tires

Better than a Xiaomi xD

Im thinking to buy this one
Kukirin G4 Dud. 😩
Bro was too negative about it. When you bottom out the scooter adjust the suspension. It`s that easy. The scooter is great and do not listen to this guy that drives 5k scooters.
You have to take the rear wheel off to adjust the preload on this thing, it's completely impractical on this scooter and would reduce compression travel to almost nothing.
Maybe G4 MAX is good....
G2 max is still a goodbuy than this better quality, too.
Dude if your 230lbs you don't need to be riding a scooter! Sorry. I'm an adult in phenomenal shape at 175lbs and this scooter is amazing. Your review is crap about this scooter because you weigh entirely too much for scooter riding much less making sufficient reviews on them.....just being honest my man.
Wow....
@GingerOnWheels hey man i must have been having a terrible day. I didn't mean what I said. And I am very sorry. I didn't want to delete it and hide my embarrassment so I wanted to publicly apologize. Your videos are actually very informative and well done.
its a bit rude but i think the same thing he is a bit heavy as a teenager i think thats the best option u can get
220lbs??? phewwwww
I weigh 150 so
You'll be set then! At your weight the scooter will probably be a blast.
@@GingerOnWheels im not sure yet really am trying to find a good e scooter that goes 35-40 for under 1300. i was looking at the gotrax gx1 or the nanrobot d4 2.0
As if all adults are 6'2" 230+lbs. Lol
This dude weighs almost 300 pounds and actually expects 2000 watts to rocket him towards the horizon.. If your overweight then spend the money and get 5000 watts to carry your weight around more swiftly.
I'm 235 lol. Man if I weighed 300lbs I'd be working it off on an ebike I think. 😅

Bumer 🫠
Sometimes you gotta keep it real... this scooter sucks dude
🤢🤮 no thanks .
Why
@utvm6748 I like my muscle scooter. (40kw) . I personally think it is much more importanat to accelerate away from danger than to speed 🤔.
@@Vmaxfodder ye i also want hydraulic brakes, suspension but i dont have the budget plus its really hard to find scouters with seats and idk how many kukrin scouter let u do that
Also i think i wont use the full acceleration since its dangerous but helpfull for climbing and nice 11 inch tires
trash scooter
Great video 👍🏼 Yip , ask Kukirin what the base the range & they will email you saying they base it on a 50kg(110lbs) ride😳mode1 single, flat road , good weather blah blah 😂 so even for a 180lbs rider expect half of what they advertise. 🛴💨
G4 or g2 master
You decide.
